Abstract: A holder for retaining refractory materials with adjustable upper and lower trays, which accommodate and hold securely therebetween the refractory materials. The holder comprises a lower tray having an open bottom mesh, and an upper tray with an open top mesh. The upper tray is telescopically received by the lower tray. Adjustable spacing between the upper and lower tray provides for secure retention of a uniformly distributed layer of radiant refractory material, thus offering a relatively constant dissipation of heat. The adjustable feature is provided by the accommodation of fasteners which extend generally horizontally from the side of the lower tray within vertical slots which are defined within the side walls of the top tray. The holder also provides a convenient means for cleaning the refractory materials after they have become soiled in use.

Abstract: An interchangeable spacer gauge having a body with an upper surface parallel to a lower surface, a side surface, and an opening in the side surface extending through the upper and lower surfaces for use with an elongated member having an outer periphery, and more particularly, the opening enables a spacer gauge of a predetermined height to be interchanged with a second spacer gauge of a different predetermined height by passing the outer periphery of the elongated member through the opening in the side surface thereby encompassing a substantial portion of the outer periphery of the elongated member, the parallel upper and lower surfaces of the body allow a plurality of spacer gauges of different predetermined heights to be stacked by having the upper surface of a lower spacer gauge contacting the lower surface of a second spacer gauge to obtain a predetermined aggregate height.
Abstract: A shock-damped and electronically passive mechanical switch system is precisely responsive to unguided ballistic missile peak reentry drag levels and respective near surface drag levels. The system includes a single cylindrical case containing a first and a second switching piston independently biased by respective springs, and a third switching piston housed in the second piston and controlled by metering fluid. The third (arming) piston begins displacing upon sensing a calibrated low threshold missile reentry drag value and shortly thereafter opens a port which enables the first and second pistons to begin displacing in response to the missile's drag, these two pistons coming to rest upon sensing the missile's peak drag. The second (programming) piston retains its peak drag sensing position to thus program the near surface drag value as the first piston retracts in response to the missile's reducing post peak drag.
Abstract: A resonance eliminator for a drum head. The resonance eliminator includes a body having a first and second pivotally connected sections. A clamp is provided for detachably mounting the first section of the body on the rim of a drum. The resilient pad is attached to the second section of the body and engages the surface of the drum to eliminate resonance of the drum head caused by vibrations from the drum set itself or external sources. The second section is pivotal with respect to the first section to enable normal sounds to be exhibited by the drum head during play of the drum. Counterweight means are provided in one embodiment to insure that the second section of the body remains in a predetermined positional relationship with respect to the first section of the body. The latter embodiment is suitable for use on the bottom drum head.
Abstract: A transmission control apparatus for an infinitely variable transmission in which a transmission operating amount is selected by a transmission operating amount selecting system from a memory stored table based on transmission control information from transmission control information detectors which detect the transmission control information such as a throttle opening position command signal, etc., and a driving motor which enables the transmission operation of the infinitely variable transmission to be controlled in an open-loop fashion by a transmission control system in accordance with the transmission operating amount.

The body sail includes an upstanding mast and a mounting member attachable on the body of the user for mounting the mast on the user. An outwardly extending boom is attached to the mast. At least one and preferably two sails are attached to the boom mast. A guide assembly is pivotally attached to one of the sail for controlling the trim of the sail with respect to the boom and mast.
Abstract: A simplified sound reproducing device having external output shafts disposed beneath the plane of rotation of a record disc and at positions corresponding to the starting point of sound reproduction of each record groove. Each of the external output shafts actuates predetermined external components for action corresponding to the content of the recorded item in the record groove. A transmission is provided for connecting a center pin to each of the external output shafts. The transmission includes a driving wheel fixed around the center pin, a revolvable bearing frame member which is journally connected for rotation with the center pin when under engagement with a coupling member, a planetary shaft carried by the revolvable bearing frame member, a planetary gear wheel supported by the planetary shaft capable of movement in an axial direction and rotated by meshing with the driving wheel.
Abstract: A fluid system has a variable displacement pump connected in a closed-loop circuit to a fluid cylinder having a piston and one connecting rod extending from the piston through an opposite side wall such that the effective pressure responsive areas on the opposite sides of the piston are unequal. The fluid system includes a circuit which permits an unequal displacement cylinder to be connected in a closed-loop circuit to a fluid pump.
Abstract: Apparatus for compacting powdered and fibrous raw materials to a pellet product, comprising a mixing chamber with an inlet, a driven mixing shaft coaxially with respect to the mixing cylinder and which is provided with radially projecting blades. A pelletizer is connected directly to the mixing cylinder, and comprises a cylindrical mold coaxially inside a cylindrical jacket part and provided with radial holes, and inside which are arranged one or more freely rotatable pressure rollers as a result of which, when the apparatus is working, the compacted mixture is pressed through the holes, while the jacket part of the pelletizer is provided with an outlet for the compressed product. The mixing shaft is designed as a cylinder, rotatable coaxially with respect to a fixed supporting shaft.
Abstract: A simplified sound reproducing device having external output shafts disposed beneath the plane of rotation of the record disc at positions corresponding to the end point of sound reproduction of each record groove and which actuate predetermined external components corresponding to the record groove's recorded content previously reproduced. A transmission selectively connects a center pin to each of the external output shafts.
Abstract: Wheel bearing pulser combinations of the type where an annular pulser is force fitted onto the outer surface of a wheel bearing are disclosed in which the pulser is constructed to accommodate resiliently resisted radial expansion of its central opening as required by the force fitting of the pulser onto the bearing to permit increased dimensional tolerances of the bearing while avoiding an undue radial compression of the outer race of the bearing from the force fit.

Supported on the upper tubes are respective cams turnable rearwardly by an attendant about a horizontal axis and in opposition to springs, from positions in which they bear against horizontal pins fixed at the rears of the lower tubes and maintain the upper tubes in their raised positions, into positions which allow them to be lowered past the pins to permit the backrest to be lowered.
Abstract: An apparatus for correcting camera output data for excessive voltage build up on the camera image tube target during active video scan and retrace time periods as well as d.c. restoration error. The apparatus includes an A/D converter which converts the raw analog camera video output into a plurality of digital data values during each active scan period. The digital values are stored in a memory or register. The voltage on the camera image tube target is sampled during the retrace period of the camera beam. The magnitudes of the voltages sampled during all or a portion of the retrace period are averaged to generate an average value corresponding to the excess voltage built up on the screen during the scan and retrace time periods plus the d.c. restoration error. The average value is then added or subtracted from the digital data signals generated during the active beam scan period to generate output data which has been adjusted for the d.c. errors during a single scan of the camera beam.
