  • Patent number: 7682491
Abstract: A method of using substituted olefin polymers prepared by reacting one or more C2-C10 mono-olefin polymers having a number average molecular weight of about 300 to about 5,000 with C4-C10 monounsaturated dicarboxylic acid derivatives and compositions comprising the substituted olefin polymers for preventing fouling of hydrocarbon processing equipment, especially ethylene dichloride distillation units.

  • Patent number: 7651635
Abstract: The invention provides a composition of matter and a method of its use in preventing unwanted polymerization reactions. The composition comprises an inhibitor and a retarder. The inhibitor is highly effective. The retarder is reliable under extreme and emergency situations. The inhibitor can be an alkylhydroxylamine. The retarder can be a 7-cyano-quinone methide. The combination of the inhibitor and retarder has been found to be far more effective than expected.

  • Patent number: 7624878
Abstract: Methods and compositions for separating materials are provided. In an embodiment, the present invention provides a method of separating a first material from a second material. For example, the method can comprise mixing the first material and the second material in a slurry with a beneficiation composition. The beneficiation composition can comprise one or more fatty acid by-products derived from a biodiesel manufacturing process and one or more green collectors. Air bubbles can be provided in the slurry to form bubble-particle aggregates with the first material and the bubble-particle aggregates can be allowed to be separated from the second material.
