Abstract: An apparatus and method for ultraviolet irradiation of air for the purpose of removing contaminants from that air is disclosed. A U-shaped ultraviolet bulb enshrouded within a quartz tube provides enhanced contaminant destruction characteristics. By combining a plurality of those bulbs in a chamber that is of polished aluminum, and further combining aluminum filters therewith, added irradiation enhancement is achieved.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for repairing a casting in a cold metal repair process includes a plurality of drilling fixtures which facilitate the creation of one or more lock receiving recesses positioned generally transverse to the casting crack. The lock receiving recesses are formed of a single sized circular bore combination having alternating double and single circular portions to maximize strength. A plurality of correspondingly configured metal locks are inserted into the lock receiving recesses to provide transverse metal locks drawing the casting portions on each side of the crack together. A plurality of threaded bores are formed along the remainder of the casting crack in overlapping spacing which receive a corresponding plurality of stitching pins. The stitching pins each define threaded shaft portions having pointed ends and undersized major pitch diameter threads adjacent the pointed ends.
Abstract: A hand-held implement grip and protectant, preferably for a hockey stick, is described. The invention mainly consists of a blade attached to a composite shaft integrally enshrouded with a rubber sheath. A method of forming the same is also provided as laying up a number of sheets of composite material, wrapping those sheets about a mandril, enshrouding the layup with a rubber sheath, vulcanizing the combination, removing the mandril, and inserting a blade therein.
Abstract: A support device for attaching a trap shooter to a vehicle, particularly a pick-up truck in, which a frame is affixed to a conventional square receiver located below the bumper on the pick-up truck, the frame projecting away from the truck and upwardly, and terminating in a platform upon which the trap shooter is located. The platform is capable of rotation and its spacing from the tailgate can be controlled to allow easy access by an operator for easy loading of disks carried on the pick-up truck body.
Abstract: A method and apparatus which allows player gaming to transpire over a series of sessions without a player losing credit for performances in earlier sessions. A player card carries thereon the current status of the player's performance during the course of previous sessions and it updated during subsequent sessions. Milestones are recognized as opportunities for providing the player with awards as these milestones are achieved.
Abstract: A gaming device having a plurality of mechanical reels placed adjacent to a thin profile video display. The thin profile video display allows access to storage rearward thereof. The close relationship of the video display and reels allows a player to view both video display and the reels within one's field of vision.
Abstract: A mold is disclosed for forming a freezable and thawable bag of uniform thickness, especially useful for cryopreservation of thermolabile substances. The mold features one or more recessed planar surfaces, including radiused peripheral walls about the recesses, a planar top surface, and means for conforming a blank sheet to the mold. Two mold halves combine to form a completed bag. The mold halves may be complimentary.
Abstract: A gaming device and method which provides a player with an opportunity of an enhanced output based on a display of a first predetermined value on a first display which subsequently activates a second display controllable to a certain extent by the player. The second display provides the player with an enhanced credit scheme and provides the player with a second option of continuing to attempt to enhance the credit payout or retiring before an event occurs which extinguishes the bonusing feature and the award.

Abstract: A sample treatment system for automated extraction of compounds is disclosed. The system includes a housing defining an enclosure including a top cover having an open ended well for allowing a sample plate to nest therein, a automated shuttle means for lateral transportation and vertical lifting of both a waste and a collection plate to selectively address an area below the sample plate for the through passage of fluid from the sample plate and a digitally controlled variable speed vacuum pump operatively coupled to said housing for evacuating air from the enclosure to a degree below atmospheric pressure for through passage of fluid from the sample plate to either the waste plate or collection plate. The shuttle means includes motor drives and positive position feedback for precisely laterally and vertically positioning both the waste and collection plates.
