Abstract: A method and apparatus for repairing a casting in a cold metal repair process includes a plurality of drilling fixtures which facilitate the creation of one or more lock receiving recesses positioned generally transverse to the casting crack. The lock receiving recesses are formed of a single sized circular bore combination having alternating double and single circular portions to maximize strength. A plurality of correspondingly configured metal locks are inserted into the lock receiving recesses to provide transverse metal locks drawing the casting portions on each side of the crack together. A plurality of threaded bores are formed along the remainder of the casting crack in overlapping spacing which receive a corresponding plurality of stitching pins. The stitching pins each define threaded shaft portions having pointed ends and undersized major pitch diameter threads adjacent the pointed ends.

Abstract: A gaming device security system is disclosed which includes two processing areas linked together and communicating critical gaming functions via a security protocol wherein each transmitted gaming function includes a specific encrypted signature to be decoded and validated before being processed by either processing area. The two processing areas include a first processing area having a dynamic RAM and an open architecture design which is expandable without interfering or accessing critical gaming functions and a second "secure" processing area having a non-alterable memory for the storage of critical gaming functions therein.

Abstract: A gaming machine display, apparatus and method in which a simulation of minting coins is provided on a video monitor of a gaming machine coupled to a processor which simulates a plurality of balls extending down a trackway, a simulated minting machine on the display oriented to receive the balls and simulated coins exiting the machine as a function of player performance. The player performance, should it reach a grand prize level causes the minting station to break via simulation and the appearance of a caricature announces that an attendant will come by for resetting the machine for hand payout.

Abstract: A gaming machine and method including a housing having a door which exposes a currency mechanism along a medial portion thereof and located between a side wall and a monitor. This strategic location of the currency mechanism allows clearance for an underlying coin hopper so as to minimize the need for an external currency mechanism and to provide access to the coin hopper in a much more maintenance friendly manner for tending to the coin hopper and currency mechanisms, e.g. for filling, etc.

Abstract: A dispensing container for viscous fluids formed of a tubular body having top and bottom surfaces with the top surface including a threaded outlet neck and the bottom surface including a recessed portion with a female threaded opening. The container is designed to operate in an upside-down manner to take advantage of gravity flow. A hanger ring is provided which pivots out of the recessed portion to suspend the container in an upside-down position. A plurality of bottles can be vertically supported by a dispensing manifold to yield different dispensing relationships.

Abstract: A needleless dosage transfer system for filling medicating devices such as syringes or needleless cannulas to minimize the likelihood of an unwanted needle stick and to avoid the initial cost of a needle as well as the disposal cost of the needle. A vial has a body portion 20 formed with flexibly deformable walls and defines a blind bore. An opening of the vial includes a tapered section adapted to frictionally fit over a taper of a male luer-type fitting commonly found on syringes and needleless cannulas. By deforming the walls of the vial, fluid is forced from the vial into a syringe. The opening of the vial 10 is protected with a cap and includes a scoreline which, when fractured, defines the opening. The cap to be removed from the vial prior to its use is fabricated as one piece with the vial in order to assure sterile conditions during manufacture and filling. A tab is associated with the cap which lists the ingredients within the vial. The vial also supports an area which lists the vial's contents.

Abstract: A vacuum pump operated suction cup is utilized to form tools to assist the installer in laying flooring. In one embodiment, the suction cup is provided with a bracket which supports the vacuum pump and a handle having a knee pad at the end. In use, the suction cup is vacuum bonded to the flooring and pressed against the floor by hand while the knee pad is kicked with the knee to smooth out any irregularities. In another embodiment the flooring is stretched by pushing the vacuum bonded suction cup with a jack. In another embodiment, a tacking strip is utilized in lieu of adhesive to secure the flooring to a substrate with the assistance of the vacuum pump.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for an automated tournament gaming system (10) comprising a central server computer (20) operatively coupled to, inter alia, a plurality of gaming machine G.sub.1, G.sub.2 . . . G.sub.N for automatically harnessing any of the gaming machines for automatically inciting and running a tournament where a group of players are participating for a period after which prizes are awarded to the winning tournament play participants. In addition, the system (10) includes a host site computer (200) operatively coupled to a plurality of the central servers (20) at a variety of remote gaming sites C.sub.1, C.sub.2 . . . C.sub.N for providing a multi-site progressive automated tournament gaming system (210). The multi-site system (210) is integrated into the system (10) to increase the winnings, progressive amounts and the total buy-ins.

Abstract: An automated assaying system is disclosed having a multiplicity of lumens oriented and controllable in clusters. The lumens are portrayed in a matrix, wherein each row of the matrix consists of one such cluster that is individually controllable for aspiration and dispensation purposes. Also provided is a unique wash system capable of flushing the entirety of the system. A method is also depicted for accomplishing this unique assaying.
