Abstract: A method of detecting the timing of fuel injection in a diesel engine for the regulation of the timing of fuel injection by a fuel injection timing regulator is disclosed. Rotation angle indicating lugs are provided on the crankshaft of the engine connected to the input shaft of the fuel injection timing regulator and on the output shaft of the fuel injection timing regulator to measure the time difference between pulses corresponding to the lugs on the input and output shafts making relative rotation, and a reference rotation angle indicating lug is provided adjacent to each of the lugs provided on one of the input and output shafts to measure the reference timing difference between pulses corresponding to the lugs on the shaft under rotation. The phase angle of the output shaft relative to the input shaft can be accurately calculated on the basis of the former and latter time differences.

Abstract: A rice polishing machine comprises a rotatable shaft, a polishing roll mounted on the shaft for rotation therewith, and a perforated cylindrical polishing assembly disposed in substantially concentric relation to the shaft. The cylindrical polishing assembly has its inner circumferential surface which cooperates with an outer circumferential surface of the polishing roll to define therebetween a polishing chamber. Partition wall members engage with an outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical polishing assembly at a location below an axis of the shaft for dividing the outer circumferential surface into an arcuate bottom surface section and the remaining arcuate surface section and for defining an upper space to which the bottom surface section is exposed and a lower space to which the remaining surface section is exposed.
Abstract: A sorter for grains, pulses and the like having a perforated sorting plate mounted on a frame and both longitudinally and laterally inclined with respect to the horizontal plane and adapted to be vibrated in the longitudinal direction while being intermittently lifted toward the upper side. The perforated sorting plate overlies an air chamber into which pressurized air is introduced by a blower through an air duct. The perforated sorting plate is provided with a corrugated upper surface to define a multiplicity of ribs oriented in the direction perpendicular to the direction of vibration of the sorting plate and in parallel rows at a pitch not less than the size of the material to be sorted. A set of discharge openings for receiving the sorted material is provided at the lower end of the perforated sorting plate where the ribs terminate.
Abstract: To hold a railway rail down on a support member, a device is employed having a first part driven into a vertical hole in the support member, a second part having a sideways projection, part of which lies vertically below a part of the support member, to one side of the bottom of the hole, and third, fourth and fifth parts forming an arch above the support member. A fulcrum portion of the first part co-operates with the wall of the hole during the driving operation to form a pivot about which said device rocks to cause the above-mentioned part of the projection to come under the above-mentioned part of the support member. From the lower extremity of the fifth part, i.e. the side of the arch which is further from the first part of the device, there extend sixth and seventh parts of the device, the sixth part sideways and the seventh part downwardly.
Abstract: Adducts of tetrasubstituted pyrophosphato titanates and/or amines, having the formulaX.sub.c Ti[OP(O)(OR.sup.1)OP(O)(OR.sup.2)OR.sup.3)].sub.4-c(NR.sup.4 R.sup.5 R.sup.6)d[P(OR.sup.7)(OR.sup.8)(OR.sup.9)]e,are useful in improving the physical and chemical properties of many filled resins.

Abstract: A process of pre-foaming blowing agent-containing plastic materials, in which the plastic material particles which have been pre-foamed by the addition of heat are transferred without an intermediate resting stage from a sealed pre-foaming chamber into a drying and stabilizing chamber, with a vacuum being maintained during the drying and stabilizing operation. An apparatus for the performance of the process includes a pre-foaming chamber, beneath which there is provided a chamber in which the pre-foamed plastic material is dried and stabilized. The charging opening of the drying and stabilizing chamber is directly under the discharge opening of the pre-foaming chamber and is hermetically sealable by means of a slide valve.
