  • Patent number: 5729898
Abstract: A method of making an electrical socket having an insertion part, a receptacle, and an electrically conductive terminal therebetween. The insertion part and the receptacle are at an angle to each other and the conductive terminal is bent at substantially the same angle. A tubular member is molded and one end of the conductive terminal is inserted through an insertion hole in the closed end so that the other end projects therefrom. This end is bent, preferably to a 90.degree. angle with the remainder of the conductive terminal, thereby forming the core member. The core member is inserted into a mold whereby, when molding resin is introduced into said mold, the outer tube and the receptacle are integrally formed.

  • Patent number: 5728974
Abstract: A grommet for sealing an opening in a partition which having a main body and a fixture. The body has a flexible pocket surrounding the opening into which a skirt on the fixture enters. When the assembled grommet is placed under compression, the skirt forces the pocket against the edge of the opening, thereby providing a reliable waterproof seal. At the same time, the pressure urges a sealing lip on the main body against the partition to provide a watertight seal. Thus, the device is capable of producing two seals, rather than a single seal as is to be found in the prior art. The grommet is of particular use in connection with automotive vehicles.

  • Patent number: 5723638
Abstract: The invention is drawn to a process for the preparation of a steroid of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R.sub.2 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms and theo A, B, C, and D ring system has at least one double bond and is optionally substituted by at least one optionally protected hydroxy, optionally protected keto, halogen, alkyl and alkoxy of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and alkenyl and alkynyl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms by reacting the corresponding 17-ketosteroid with a compound of the formula ##STR2## and then by reacting the resulting compound with an aryl sulfenyl halide. The intermediate produced then undergoes rearrangement followed by epimerization with a strong base to obtain a mixture of the corresponding sulfoxide diastereoisomers which is reacted with a thiophilic compound. The intermediate produced undergoes acid hydrolysis to provide the compound of formula I.
