  • Patent number: 5012667
Abstract: A calibration apparatus includes a microcomputer-based calibrator unit, functioning separately from a measuring device to be calibrated, and a coupling coil, through which calibration information generated by the calibrator unit is electromagnetically transmitted to the measuring device to which the coil is strapped or otherwise connected. This permits the measuring device to be calibrated without the measuring device being removed from the environment in which it is to make measurements. The methodology of the apparatus permits the measuring device to be calibrated either with standard calibration data, such as whereby the measuring device is calibrated to a factory standard calibration, or with variable calibration data, such as whereby a then-current calibration of the measuring device is "tweaked".

  • Patent number: 5004013
Abstract: A dripless coupling device in which a male unit and a female unit selectively interconnect flow conducting members, a male barrel having a male cylinder disposed therein which is insertable into a female body. The female body is provided with a dial retainer liner adapted to receive a dialer member such that the male cylinder can be selectively rotated by the dialer member to index the cylinder bore of the male cylinder with the male barrel port of the male cylinder and the liner port and the hollow post of the female body. A seal is formed between the female body and the dialer member when the male unit is disconnected and a biasing assembly is provided for biasing the dialer member into sealing engagement with the seal while permitting the dialer member to be retracted upon connection of the male unit to the female unit.

  • Patent number: 4991821
Abstract: A coupling device comprises of a male unit and a female unit used to connect and disconnect flow conducting members. The barrel of the male unit is inserted into the barrel of the female unit when the device is operatively engaged. When so engaged, the respective output ports of the male and female units are indexed. The male input port and female output port can then be connected to respective flow conducting members so that fluid flow is facilitated.

  • Patent number: 4974916
Abstract: Integratable circuit arrangement for delaying pulse-shaped signals. A differential amplifier circuit is composed of a first current source connected to a zero potential, of an emitter-coupled transistor pair and of two resistors. The two collectors of the transistor pair are respectively connected to the zero potential via a further current source and are connected to one another via a capacitor. A further transistor introduced into both collector lines of the transistor pair delays pulse-shaped signals that are applied at the bases of the transistor pair and the further transistor in a defined allocation to one another, delaying the signals as a function of the current flowing in the coupled emitters of the transistor pair and as a function of the voltage appearing across the capacitor.

  • Patent number: 4970349
Abstract: A safety outlet cover assembly is provided which prevents unauthorized access to a wall socket outlet. The safety outlet assembly comprises a housing, a plug insertion guard assembly disposable within the housing, and a key member for selectively engaging the plug insertion guard assembly to move the plug insertion guard assembly from a first position and a second position. In the first position the plug insertion guard assembly is in a blocking position relative to openings in the housing and thus the wall socket outlet; whereas, when the plug insertion guard assembly is in the second position, access to the wall socket outlet is unrestricted so that male components of an electrical plug can be inserted into female openings of a wall socket to complete the electrical circuit therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4969059
Abstract: An offset nulling system is provided for use in computer disk drives to identify and compensate for actuator head position offset errors attributable to dc offsets of the disk drive control circuitry, thereby obtaining improved head alignment wiht a designated track on a memory storage disk or the like. The system includes a microcontroller adapted during a calibration mode to identify the position offset error and direction for selected tracks located respectively at radially inner and radially outer regions of the disk, and to adjust head position incrementally relative to those tracks to subsantially eliminate position offset error. Thereafter, during a normal operation mode of the disk drive, the microcontroller functions at the conclusion of a track seek step to adjust the head through a position offset compensation value and direction derived by interpolation of the position offset compensation value and direction identified during the calibration mode, in accordance with the specific track address.
