  • Patent number: 7741514
Abstract: A catalyst of the invention includes an imide compound having a N-substituted cyclic imide skeleton represented by following Formula (I): wherein R is a hydroxyl-protecting group. Preferred R is a hydrolyzable protecting group. R may be a group obtained from an acid by eliminating an OH group therefrom. Such acids include, for example, carboxylic acids, sulfonic acids, carbonic acid, carbamic acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acids and boric acids. The catalyst may include the imide compound and a metallic compound in combination. In the presence of the catalyst, (A) a compound capable of forming a radical is allowed to react with (B) a radical scavenging compound and thereby yields an addition or substitution reaction product of the compound (A) and the compound (B) or a derivative thereof. This catalyst can produce an organic compound with a high selectivity in a high yield as a result of, for example, an addition or substitution reaction under mild conditions.

  • Patent number: 7552158
Abstract: The present invention relates to a digital filter capable of computing a tap without output delay due to the filter operation in a symbol time, and a digital broadcasting receiver having the same. Particularly, filter output is obtained within a clock period, one multiplier and one adder are used to perform coefficient update for a plurality of taps, and the multiplier performs the output operation for each tap, whereby the number of multipliers and adders is reduced inversely proportional to the number of taps being operated for one clock period. Thus, the digital filter of the present invention can be very advantageously used for resolving the filter size problem in multi-tap filters.

  • Patent number: 7336743
Abstract: An automatic gain control and its method are disclosed. An average power computing unit computes the power of a received signal. A power range monitoring unit monitors its change. If the signal power fluctuates around a threshold, the system enters an acquisition mode and the gain is tuned back to a default value. If the signal power is above an upper limit of a tracking range, a gain decreasing unit reduces the gain. If the signal power goes below a lower limit of the tracking range, a gain increasing unit raises the gain. Once the power falls in the tracking range, the system enters a tracking mode to make immediate responses toward the gain of the received signal.

  • Patent number: 7277132
Abstract: A method for motion vector de-interlacing decodes macro blocks in a picture, calculates motion vectors of the each MB, produces de-interlacing flag according to the threshold, realizes a Temporal Extension action and performs a Devour action. The Temporal Extension action checks multiple flag buffers, determines if a de-interlace flag should be set as WEAVE or BOB2 based on whether there exists a predetermined number of BOB flags in those flag buffers The Devour action determines if the de-interlace flag is BOB. If positive, it calculates the amount of BOB data within a predetermined area around the current MB, determines if the result is smaller than the BOB threshold and sets the de-interlace flag as WEAVE. Otherwise, it calculates the amount of the WEAVE data, determines if the result is smaller than the WEAVE threshold and sets the de-interlace flag as BOB2.
