Abstract: A cosmetic appliance and method of use for temporarily lifting, supporting or smoothing the skin of selected areas of a user's body, including the eyebrows, eyelids, throat, neck, breasts and other areas, and which is not readily apparent once applied, formed in predetermined shapes from thin, generally translucent flexible sheeting to one side of which adhesive has been applied and covered with a peel-away layer.
Abstract: A dental oral appliance for use with patients who suffer with sleep disorders, to reduce or eliminate snoring and to open the airway for a sleeping individual who suffers with obstructive sleep apnea. The appliance covers the inside (lingual) of the upper teeth and has an open palate. Retention for the appliance is provided by either clasps placed over the upper right and left molars and a retainer in the anterior area or by an occlusal coverge of the upper teeth. A raised incisor ramp that extends from the incisal tip (biting edge) of the incisors toward the lingual, or posterior raised ramps, separate the posterior teeth to reduce spasm on the temporalis muscle. A transverse, transpalatal ramp, which extends from the inside (lingual) of the upper right molars to the inside of the upper left molars, covers the tongue and holds it down, opening the airway.
Abstract: A power and data station rotatably mounted in an opening in a work surface comprising, a base having sloped power and data receptacle panels, a pair of torus hinges rotatably attached to said base, a lock bolt having a lock tooth fixedly attached to said base, a lock button slidably attached to said lock bolt, a first lock strike slot in one of said torus hinges, said lock tooth adapted to engage said lock strike slot to hold said station in an open position.
Abstract: An air-inflated mattress, comprising a top layer, an outer shroud band, a plurality of anchor separators and a bottom layer, wherein said shroud band connects the top and bottom layers together to form an inflatable bladder; further comprising a middle layer below said top layer sealed to the top layer. The mattress may also comprise a middle shroud band and an inner shroud band, a plurality of joint spots welded on the bottom side of the top layer, alternatively arranged with anchor separators and a plurality of joint spots welded between the shrouds and means to pass air between the bladder and a plurality of half-sealed sub-chambers created by the joint welds, which slows the spreading speed of the air to the bladder and the chambers, so that the air mattress is even and level and the supporting strength of the air mattress is greatly improved.
Abstract: A bag made from a length of material (10) divided into a series of three or more substantially equal sized sections (12, 14, 16, 18, 20). Every other section is filled with sand (14, 18), or other particulate material and there is an unfilled section (12, 20) at each end.
Abstract: A less lethal projectile comprising a hollow body filled with a high density filler, a closure to seal the filler in the body and a bore-rider stabilizer attached to the rear of the closure. The bore rider stabilizer comprises a material having a low coefficient of friction.
Abstract: A transmitting controller is connected to a powerline and on command places a reference signal and a series of signal pulses in the powerline at a series of signal timing positions related to zero voltage crossing points so that the signals pulses are substantially in the powerline temporal quiet zone near zero crossing. The signal pulses are produced from a pair of capacitors and switches which are each sequentially charged a first polarity from the powerline and is discharged in the powerline at the opposite polarity so that the powerline voltage at the time of the pulse is additive to the pulse voltage. The receiving controller is connected to the powerline and has a filter circuit therein which filters away the powerline AC signal and noise to leave the reference and signal pulses. The signal pulses are compared to the position of starting reference pulses to determine in which signal timing position the pulses have occurred.
Abstract: This invention relates to a card game comprised of at least one warrior card, at least one technique card, at least one power card, and at least one field card. This invention also includes a method of playing said card game, which involves the use of a battle binder.
Abstract: This invention comprises a unique method for the sale of natural stone, special packaging for the stone and a method of doing business to make the stone available in high volume stores to the average consumer. The method comprises prefabricating the stone into slabs at or near the location where it is quarried, into sizes and shapes which are common, and often standard, in household bathrooms and kitchens. The stone slabs may, or may not, include cut-outs for sinks and faucets of various standard size. The pre-fabricated stone is then packaged in a box or carton which is designed to specially protect the stone, especially at the corners where most damage occurs, and shipping the packages to high volume, do-it-yourself consumer outlets.
Abstract: A golf chipping practice device for a golfer comprising, a base, a net enclosure comprising a rear panel and side panels attached to the base, the net being open facing the player, the base having a floor area which is angled downward, a hole in the floor area of the base to receive a ball hit into the net, a power unit inside the base, a channel to carry the ball after it drops into the hole, a switch in the channel adapted to activate a spinning wheel which encroaches into the channel, presses against the ball in the channel and drives the ball forward, an exit hole through which the ball is driven by the spinning wheel back to the player, a switch adjacent the exit hole adapted to turn off the power unit when impacted by the ball exiting the exit hole.
Abstract: Methods for increasing the performance of a foil (100) by using tip droop (102) having an inward directed camber capable of generating an inward directed lifting force on the tip droop (102) in order to control spanwise flow conditions adjacent the tip (112) of a foil (100). Methods for varying the inward lifting shape of a tip droop (102) are provided along with methods for varying the angle of attack and camber of the tip droop (102) as the angle of attack of the foil (100) is changed and as spanwise flow conditions vary.
Abstract: A stand alone flat bed scanner including a CPU, a removable storage medium, a control system displaying digital image and controls for controlling the mode of operation, degree of resolution, related parameters associated with generating, storing and displaying digital data. Ports for printers, accessories and other peripherals, an internal hard drive, and software adapted to display images directly on a television screen, and/or to display images projected from an LCD projector upon a screen, including battery, and a pivotal handle for portable use in environments not having an external power supply. One embodiment, not including an incorporated flat bed scanner function, adapted to receive image data from a conventional scanner unit.

Abstract: A mounting apparatus for use with a parameter measuring device includes a stem extending from an outer casing of the parameter measuring device, where the stem includes an internally threaded opening. A mounting plate having an integral barrel formed thereon cooperates with the measuring device wherein the mounting plate abuts the outer casing and the integral barrel surrounds the stem. A mounting bar is secured to a distal end of the integral barrel wherein the mounting bar serves to attach the measuring device to an external surface. Finally, a threaded fastener is threadedly received within the internally threaded opening of the stem for securing the mounting bar and the mounting plate to the measuring device.
Abstract: A multiplied resolution, single pass flatbed scanner having a charge-coupled device (CCD) sensor of n pixels with a scan width of W, which gives a subject pixel center to center distance of W/n, two independently moveable carriages capable of incremental advancement of W/2n so that for each read of a scan line Y, two reads of all segments of X along the scan line of Y are taken, with each segment of X having a width of half pixel distance, W/2n, and each line Y having a height of half pixel distance, W/2n, to thereby double the resolution.
