Abstract: A connecting arrangement for a machine tool in which a driving element and a driven component are constrained from relative twisting by guide pins and are further coupled to transmit torque therethrough. The coupling mechanism is provided with an external release lever so that the faces of the driving and driven elements are in complete registry when so coupled.

Abstract: A combined motor puller and stand having a forked leg base, on rollers. A vertical column is hydraulically adjustable in height and the top of this column has a horizontal arm, with a roller carriage within the arm. Midway along the vertical column there is a moveable, adjustable fixture for attachment to the transmission plate of some motor, for further security to a motor that is suspended by the puller.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a device in collapsible anchors of the type having two shanks each with a sharp-pointed fluke. The ends of the shanks opposite the flukes are provided with inclined portions with through-holes. A bolt, suitably provided with a ring for an anchor line or chain extends through the holes. The bolt, which is intended to rest with an end abutment against one outer side of the mutually adjacent, inclined portions is provided with a resilient washer which fixes the portions in a parallel position. At least one section projecting radially from the bolt hole of one portion is located at a greater distance from the bolt hole than an opposing surface adjacent the second inclined portion. This opposing surface is located such that the projecting section is shiftable out of and into fixed position after shifting of the one inclined portion in a direction away from the second inclined portion against the action of the resilient washer.

Abstract: A portable practice golf driving range including a tethered golf ball which is driven from an area of artificial turf. The tethering is of nylon cord which is connected to a spring steel spike driven into the ground, the spring steel being of sufficient resiliency that the ball will not be torn free from the nylon cord. Tension on the artificial turf may be adjusted to alter the characteristic lie of the golf ball when it is being driven.

Abstract: A camper cooking and dining unit which can be withdrawn from the rear of a stationwagon or truck and unfolded to produce a complete kitchen and table unit for dining and cooking meals. The unit includes an icebox, cooking stove, wash basin and many storage compartments for food and cooking and dining utensils. The unit is supported by arms extending from the bumper of the vehicle which hinge as the unit is unfolded.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to an arrangement of bolt assemblies for connecting one element with another element, the bolt assembly comprising several bolt and hydraulic nut units which each consist of an outer nut and an inner nut which is exteriorly threaded for engagement with the outer nut and is interiorly threaded for engagement with the threads on the bolt, and of a hydraulic component comprising an annular cylinder and an annular piston, the hydraulic component being intended to be placed about the bolt between the nuts and one of the elements, possibly with an interjacent member placed between the element and the hydraulic component, and by means of which hydraulic unit, the bolt can be stretched via one of the nuts for permitting mounting of the other of the nuts in abutment against the hydraulic component which then serves as a form of washer between the nut and the element.

Abstract: A two speed motorcycle hub transmission in which the wheel may be driven at a one to one, or at a lower speed by a sliding clutch changing the drive from having the wheel locked to the drive shaft, to a planetary system the drive shaft driving the sun gear.

Abstract: A door lock, such as would be used on truck bodies to securely fasten the big rear doors, or which is easily opened to remove merchandise stored in the truck. A locking rod runs vertically the length of the door, with a pivotable handle attached at a reachable height from the bottom, the handle being raised to clear the lock, and then rotated a quarter to half revolution, to thereby rotate the locking rod and free it from hasps at top and bottom of the rod. A spur extends out from the handle and has a series of stepped shoulders which progressively enter the lock to secure the handle against movement when desired.

Abstract: A drill bit having a central shank having an "S" shaped cutter integrally formed on or detachably secured to the shank. A collar is detachably secured to the shank above the cutter and is keyed to the cutter to prevent rotation of the collar. A generally flat secondary cutter is secured to the collar and has a plurality of depending cutter elements on the peripheral edge thereof as well as a plurality of radially extending chisel cutters depending therefrom.

Abstract: A food dispenser including a relatively large hopper for holding a supply of dry or granular type food, and a downwardly tapering section leading to a manually movable control door which dispenses a predetermined quantity of the food. Attached to the control door, and actuated thereby, are a plurality of intermeshing pegs, movable in the tapering section, to break up dry products which have a tendency to stick or pack together, thereby always assuring that the control door will dispense an accurate amount.

Abstract: A truck bumper attachment for use with wideload signs, having spring urged telescoping C-clamps for fastening onto the truck bumper and also telescoping supports for the sign so as to be useful with a plurality of sign sizes.

Abstract: A fishing worm threader which includes a handle having a threading needle projecting therefrom with the threading needle having in its sharpened tip end a pocket to receive the point of a fish hook. The needle is threaded through a worm either alive or artificial and the point of a fish hook is placed in the socket of the needle so that the worm can be moved from the needle onto the fish hook so as to be threaded onto the hook.

Abstract: An adjustable volume measuring cup in which the body of the cup is formed of clear plastic having a threaded opening in the axial center of the bottom thereof closed with a removable screw. A handle is threaded into the side of the cup and can be removed. A movable bottom of the cup is of cylindrical form and fits the internal diameter of the cup snugly so as to stay in position vertically in the cup when moved. The movable bottom has an axial threaded bore and the handle can be threaded into the threaded bore of the movable bottom by extending the handle through the opening left after removing the screw in the bottom of the cup so that the handle can then be used to move the movable bottom to a desired position within the cup in accordance with an external scale on the cup.The handle is provided with a screwdriver blade on its outer end for engaging the screw closing the opening in the bottom of the cup.

Abstract: An enclosure mountable on a rotary type lawn mower for completely isolating the rotating blade so that it cannot be accidentally contacted by a person's hands or feet, nor the blade be readily hit against upward projecting rocks; the enclosure consisting of a circular metal shield from the periphery of which steel fingers extend radially and downwardly so to form a cage within which the blade swings, the shield having a central opening for fitting on and rotating with respect to the motor shaft housing and positioned above the blade so to rotate and spread the cut grass as it moves outwardly from the blade and rotate on engaging an object as well as rotate due to the reaction of the uncut grass on the fingers during a grass cutting operation.

Abstract: A method of decorating a fabric in which an elongate strip of fabric is sewed to a base fabric along a line spaced inwardly from the edge of the strip of fabric. The base fabric with strips sewed thereto is then washed in a washing machine so as to cause the edges of the strips of fabric outside of the line of stitching to fray and to thus take on a decorative appearance. The invention also includes the fabric produced by this method with the strips of material being arranged in any desired decorative pattern on the base material.
