    Abstract: A radio transmitter is operatively arranged to develop and broadcast a coded signal which may be used to effect remote control functions, for example, to control door opening mechanism. The transmitter includes a radio frequency oscillator having a coil which constitutes the radiating element. The radio frequency oscillator is modulated by a first low frequency oscillator, which is frequency modulated by output from a second low frequency oscillator, both low frequency oscillators being controlled by a timer which turns the low frequency oscillators ON for about one second and holds them OFF for about thirty seconds. The low frequency oscillators and the timer are realized by a commercially available, integrated CMOS circuit.

    Abstract: A braking system for automatically braking a towed vehicle coupled to a towing vehicle having an electrical brake control circuit and a vacuum line wherein the towed vehicle is provided with a normally closed solenoid valve for connecting both a vacuum reservoir in the towed vehicle and the vacuum line in the towing vehicle with a vacuum responsive bellows operatively connected to the brake pedal in the towed vehicle with the solenoid operated valve electrically connected through a normally open breakaway switch to the battery whereby the operation of the braking system on the towing vehicle is accompanied by an actuation of the solenoid operated valve and the application of a vacuum to the bellows for concomitant operation of the brake pedal on the towed vehicle and upon a decoupling of the towed and towing vehicles, a similar actuation of the solenoid operated valve when the breakaway switch closes to apply vacuum to the bellows for actuation of the brake pedal to brake the decoupled towed vehicle.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a universal pipe lathe for performing plural cutting operations on pipe and the like including a lathe structure having a clamp for affixing the pipe to the lathe, a drive motor supported on a stationary ring member, and a rotatable second ring driven by the motor upon which second ring is provided cutting tools of various configurations and oriented in specific fashions so as to provide a plurality of cutting combinations for the apparatus. Additionally, an indexing mechanism is provided for advancing the cutting tool and the clamping mechanism for retaining the lathe on the pipe can be adapted to engage the pipe internally or externally. The pipe lathe has two major sections which allow the lathe to be straddled over a pipe, and a suspension mechanism is provided so that the lathe can depend from a sling suspension, or alternatively be supported by an underlying support carriage.

    Abstract: A method of driving a valve in an injector for an internal combustion engine which intermittently injects liquid fuel by the valve reciprocally moving by attraction force of a solenoid coil and repulsive force of a spring and an apparatus for carrying out the method. An armature secured to the valve to be attracted by the solenoid coil and/or an iron core of the solenoid coil is made of a permanent magnet. The pulse shape of an electric current to be applied to the solenoid coil is made in the form of a stepped wave in which the electric power in the initial stage of application is larger than that in the later stage. An inverse pulse for inversely exciting the solenoid coil is formed to give the permanent magnet of the armature repulsive force upon fall of the pulse wave of the electric current applied to the solenoid coil.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is an improvement in a variable venturi carburetor for an internal combustion engine including a fuel discharging main nozzle arranged in a venturi portion and a suction piston arranged in an opposite side of the main nozzle for reciprocating in response to the variation of negative pressure of air induced to the engine generated at the venturi portion and varying an area of an induction passage of the venturi portion. The improvement includes that a fore-most end of the main nozzle is projected into the venturi portion and a fuel guide member is arranged at a lower portion of the projecting portion of the main nozzle. The fuel guide member serves to guide a flow of liquid fuel when the flow rate of air flowing through the venturi portion is low and the liquid fuel is discharged through the main nozzle.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is an improvement in a variable venturi carburetor for an internal combustion engine which comprises a venturi portion, a float chamber, a main fuel passage communicating with the venturi portion and with the float chamber, a main fuel jet provided in the main fuel passage and a movable metering needle. A free end of the metering needle is adapted to control the size of the main fuel jet and the base portion of the metering needle is mounted to a suction piston adapted to transversely move with respect to the venturi portion in response to the condition of load on the internal combustion engine. The improvement includes provision of a bypass detouring upwardly from a portion of the main fuel passage upstream of the main fuel jet for discharging vapor of fuel, and the bypass communicates with a negative pressure passage which has an opening in the lower portion of the venturi portion and with an air passage which has an opening in the vicinity of an air horn inlet.

    Abstract: A cylindrical chamber full of oil, without any valves or inlet/exit ports for this oil. A piston travels in said sealed cylindrical chamber with a rod on either side, assembled with sealing rings and provided with a series of peripheral axial holes all of the same diameter and equidistant from the piston axis. On the rod anchored to the ram slides a plunger disc supported directly under the piston assembly by two diametrically opposed threaded studs with large heads. Said studs are first threaded through the piston assembly and then screwed through the two holes found on the plunger disc. The upward travel of this disc which stops under and against the piston holes, is prevented each time the dual push-button control is operated since, when operating, these buttons, besides starting the movement of the ram, prevents the upward travel of the plunger disc simultaneously.
