Abstract: A cylindrical chamber full of oil, without any valves or inlet/exit ports for this oil. A piston travels in said sealed cylindrical chamber with a rod on either side, assembled with sealing rings and provided with a series of peripheral axial holes all of the same diameter and equidistant from the piston axis. On the rod anchored to the ram slides a plunger disc supported directly under the piston assembly by two diametrically opposed threaded studs with large heads. Said studs are first threaded through the piston assembly and then screwed through the two holes found on the plunger disc. The upward travel of this disc which stops under and against the piston holes, is prevented each time the dual push-button control is operated since, when operating, these buttons, besides starting the movement of the ram, prevents the upward travel of the plunger disc simultaneously.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an improvement in a variable venturi carburetor for an internal combustion engine which comprises a venturi portion, a float chamber, a main fuel passage communicating with the venturi portion and with the float chamber, a main fuel jet provided in the main fuel passage and a movable metering needle. A free end of the metering needle is adapted to control the size of the main fuel jet and the base portion of the metering needle is mounted to a suction piston adapted to transversely move with respect to the venturi portion in response to the condition of load on the internal combustion engine. The improvement includes provision of a bypass detouring upwardly from a portion of the main fuel passage upstream of the main fuel jet for discharging vapor of fuel, and the bypass communicates with a negative pressure passage which has an opening in the lower portion of the venturi portion and with an air passage which has an opening in the vicinity of an air horn inlet.
Abstract: A portable device for collecting particulate gold bearing material from rock crevices and the like which include a gas engine driven air blower having shoulder straps for mounting on the back of a user, the air blower being connected by a flexible duct to an elongated flexible conduit having a nozzle or crevice tool connected to the conduit front end, a container having an air outlet connected to the rear end of the conduit and adapted to be dragged along on the ground, the duct having an outlet end connected to the conduit in communication with the conduit central passage so that the air blown into the conduit from the blower provides a jet pump action to suck particulate material into the nozzle, through the conduit central passage and into the container for collection with air being discharged through the container air outlet together with a deflector within the conduit central passage for radially deflecting the stream of particulate material flowing within the conduit central passage.
Abstract: An exhaust gas recirculator for an internal combustion engine having an exhaust pipe, an intake manifold and a carburetor throttle valve. The exhaust gas recirculator comprises an EGR passage which makes the exhaust pipe communicate with the intake manifold, an EGR controlling valve and an EGR valve respectively arranged in the upper and lower portions of the EGR passage. The EGR valve operates in association with the carburetor throttle valve for metering the flow of EGR gas. The EGR controlling valve is separated by a diaphragm into an EGR gas chamber communicating with the EGR passage between the EGR controlling valve and the EGR valve and a negative pressure chamber communicating with the intake manifold.
Abstract: An oil filter suitably formed to provide integrally therewith a turning attachment to facilitate the interchanging of oil filters on engines and the like which include an oil filter canister. In the preferred form the filter body has substantially cylindrical configuration, upon which an interlocking instrument is disposed on an outer surface thereof. Various forms of the invention provide an interengaging implement to coact with the interlocking instrument selectively so that the oil filter canister can be rotated in either direction along its longitudinal axis by means of lever bars which in one form are affixed to the interengaging implement and pivoted thereto so that when not in use, the lever bars can be folded to reside substantially parallel to the outer annular walls of the canister.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a cantle saddle defined by a primary major saddle such as an English or Western saddle having a rear portion or cantle area which serves as a nesting site for the addition of a secondary saddle. The secondary saddle has a deformable front area capable of accommodating and nesting against the primary saddle and various techniques for affixing the cantle saddle to the primary saddle depending upon the geometry of the primary saddle are provided.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a hybrid fuel system for an engine which normally operates on fuel such as kerosene, gasoline, propane or the like and is adapted to be used in conjunction with the traditional fuel at selected times during the running of the engine. The system includes an electrolysis chamber provided with a fluid inlet and outlet, a pipe disposed within the chamber to allow the metered dispensing of a portion of the fluid contained within the pipe to an electrolysis area in such a manner that the dissociation of the fluid into its elemental components occurs quite readily. The configuration of the electrolysis area is such that remigration of the elemental components is extremely unlikely, and to this end an angled roof having faces which meet at an area above the pipe cause the elements to be separated and migrate on separate faces of the roof and thereafter to an opening which communicates with a conduit for admission of the elemental components into the engine.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a spill retrieval mechanism for removing a spilled substance from a liquid surface and placing the substance in a reservoir which includes a trough having a conveyor operatively disposed thereon, a motor system for driving the conveyor, a scoop associated with the trough for directing the liquid and substance to the conveyor, a surface on the conveyor for retaining the spilled substance thereon, and a removal device extending between the conveyor and an associated reservoir to remove the substance from the conveyor and place it into the reservoir. The device also includes structure to alter the angulation of the trough and conveyor to different angles of attack based on the requirements and particular job application.
Abstract: To reduce the piston velocity in a cylinder as the piston approaches the end positions, a signal transmitter is provided for sensing the position of a part driven by means of the piston and cylinder assembly, and thus of the piston in the cylinder. The signal of the signal transmitter is applied to a control unit in which it is compared with a signal from an actuator means. The signal from the actuator means controls the extension and shortening of the piston and cylinder assembly and the velocity at which this occurs, and may be positive or negative. The comparison of signals is so exploited that if it is established by this comparison that the piston is not in the areas of the end positions or, alternatively is in these areas but is activated by the actuator means to move away therefrom, the signal from the actuator means is not acted upon, whereas if the piston is in these areas and approaches the end positions, the hydraulic fluid supply to the piston and cylinder assembly is continuously reduced.
Abstract: Discussed herein is a rapid actuating device for a hydraulic actuator utilizing two or more relief valves to control the hydraulic flow of the actuator for various loading or no loading conditions in order to speed up the required operation time.
Abstract: An ice cap for a wearer's head which includes a bag having inner and outer walls lined interiorly with plastic which define a cavity to be filled with ice through an opening in the bag arranged to be sealed with a removable VELCRO panel, the bag having a marginal edge defining an opening for positioning of the bag on the scalp of the wearer's head with an elastic band extending throughout the marginal edge for yieldably retaining the bag on the wearer's head.
