Abstract: The cable of the present invention contains at least one pair of insulated conductors and an optional drain wire. The insulate conductors and drain wire is longitudinally covered in a shielding tape, which preferably comprises a metallic sheet having an adhesive applied on selected portions of a surface of the metallic sheet. The adhesive is preferably applied in a checker board pattern so that the surface having adhesive thereon contains areas of uncoated, exposed metal forming contact pads. The shielding tape is then covered with two layers of polymeric tapes in opposite helical directions. The polymeric tape is preferably constructed of a polymeric sheet having a layer of adhesive disposed on a surface thereof. In a preferred embodiment, the tapes are wrapped around the shielding tape in opposite directions such that the adhesive surfaces face each other. The tapes are then optionally covered with a jacket.

Abstract: An electrical connector with electrically lossy materials bridging ground members. The lossy conductive members may be formed by filling a settable binder with conductive particles, allowing the partially conductive members to be formed through an insert molding process. Connectors assembled from wafers that contain signal conductors held within an insulative housing may incorporate lossy conductive members by having filled thermal plastic molded onto the insulative housing. The lossy conductive members may be used in conjunction with magnetically lossy materials. The lossy conductive members reduce ground system do resonance within the connector, thereby increasing the high frequency performance of the connector.

Abstract: When multiple readers for RF transponders have to be placed in close proximity, such as in adjacent lanes of a highway toll barrier, they can be set to operate at different frequencies. When signals from two adjacent ones of the readers interfere, the resulting signal includes interference terms whose frequencies equal the sum of the reader frequencies and the difference between the reader frequencies. To remove such interference terms while passing the desired terms, a tag includes a low-pass or other frequency-selective filter.
Abstract: A stable pharmaceutical composition for oral administration comprising atorvastatin and an amount of a pharmaceutically acceptable organic alkalizing compound capable of establishing a microenvironment for atorvastatin having a pH of at least about 5, for example 2-amino-2-(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol (trometamol).
Abstract: A turbine brush for a vacuum cleaner according to an embodiment of the present invention, comprises a turbine brush body connected to a cleaner body in which a suction force is generated and having a suction path therein, a brush member rotatably mounted to the turbine brush body, a driving unit rotatably mounted in the turbine brush body to drive the brush member, and an inertia member for adding inertia to a driving force of the driving unit. Accordingly, a rotative force is not deteriorated even by small particles such as fine dust and hair, owing to the inertia added to the turbine, thereby improving a cleaning efficiency.

Abstract: An insulation shield material is provided having improved performance without the need for expensive additives, complex polymer formulations, or specially prepared carbon black. The semiconductive composition used to make the strippable semiconductive insulation shield layer in contact with the outer surface of a wire and cable insulation layer has a base polymer having a weight average molecular weight of not more than 200,000, an adhesion modifying additive system having at least two components and a conductive carbon black. Each of the adhesion modifying additive system components is different from the base polymer. The first component of the adhesion modifying additive system contains a hydrocarbon wax or ethylene vinyl acetate wax and the second component of the adhesion modifying additive system contains an amide wax.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparation of isotretinoin and more specifically, to a purification process for obtaining highly pure isotretinoin that is useful as a keratolytic agent, particularly useful for the treatment of acne. The process involves treating isotretinoin containing metal contamination and/or other impurities with a base in a suitable solvent to form a solution of isotretinoin, followed by adsorption, precipiation, and filtration or centrifugation.
Abstract: A terminal assembly includes a terminal and a barrel. The terminal has a coupling portion that fastens to a conductor, a mating portion with compression tabs arranged to form a channel, and an interlocking member on at least one of the compression tabs. The barrel is separate from the terminal and has a bore formed therethrough configured to receive the compression tabs of the mating portion. The barrel includes an interlocking member corresponding to the interlocking member of the at least one compression tab.

Abstract: A network, such as a radio network, uses dynamic transmission scheduling and soft clustering. When nodes contend for data slots, each node that is successful continues to have its data slot reserved for it until it sets an end-of-stream bit in an information summarization packet, indicating that it will stop broadcasting. From the information summarization packets, each node determines the other nodes to which it will listen, based on proximity and information content.
Abstract: The present invention is a method and system of triage that assesses a severity score for each casualty, and determines a treatment prioritization plan to maximize the number of survivors. The present invention includes a score-based mathematical algorithm for resource-constrained triage, where an optimal number of survivors is determined through a methodology that can be mathematically modeled and solved, a methodology that considers victim survival probabilities, victim deterioration rates, and resource availability. First, each casualty is assessed and an RPM severity score is assigned based upon a sum of coded values for respiratory rate, pulse rate, and best motor response.
Abstract: Patients with chronic illnesses resist using conventional automated healthcare management systems to supply necessary clinical data because such systems feel impersonal, preferring to actually visit a clinic where the patient interacts with various healthcare practitioners. In this invention, the patient interacts with a clinical management system via a series of initial GUI screens that replicate the experience of actually visiting the clinic. Additional screens allow the patient to submit clinical information, to communicate with that patient's healthcare practitioner and other healthcare practitioners, to access management information that aids the patient in managing that patient's chronic illness, and to access educational information regarding that chronic illness. The clinical management system may be used to manage a plurality of different chronic illnesses while providing a consistent look and feel to the screens.
