Abstract: A printing head for a wire dot printer includes a plurality of printing levers connected to a corresponding plurality of printing wires. A plurality of guide holes are operable for guiding the distal ends of the printing wires beyond a nose of the printing head. Each guide hole corresponds to one of the plurality of printing levers. As viewed from the nose of the printing head, each printing lever extends radially from its corresponding guide hole and the inner ends of the printing levers form a zig-zag pattern. A plurality of plate springs provides the resilient force to push the printing levers and thereby the printing wires toward the nose of the printing head. A spacer for supporting the plate springs equalizes the effective length of each plate spring.
Abstract: A mix head bushing including a body portion having first and second ends. The body portion includes a flange extending radially outwardly from the first end thereof and an essentially conical passage extending therethrough to define a first opening at the first end of the body portion and a second smaller opening at the second end of the body portion. The body portion further includes a second flange having an inner edge extending radially inwardly partially over the second opening. A resilient coating is adhered to the body portion in the passage and extends inwardly beyond the inner edge of the second flange.
Abstract: A printer for use with both monochrome and color ink ribbon cartridges has a cartridge holder which is rotatable to correctly position the ink ribbon of whichever cartridge is put in place in front of the print head. The cartridge holder and a transmission for driving it are mounted on a carriage which is movable in front of a platen. A driving motor for powering the transmission is placed on the carriage to convert the printer from monochrome so as to be able to use with either a monochrome or a color ink ribbon cartridge and a switch having two sets of contacts in a single circuit responds to the presence of a color ink ribbon cartridge to position the color ribbon in front of the printer at a color home position.
Abstract: A recording and reproducing apparatus is provided with a frame formed of plastic material. The frame can be formed as a composite, including glass fibers, polymers, carbon fibers and combinations thereof and can be electrically conductive. By supporting the functional recording and reproducing components of the apparatus on the frame which is supported in a floating state, the components are protected from external shocks and warp.
Abstract: The invention concerns a foldable trolley for supporting apparatus such as computers, photocopiers or other office of medical equipment while being serviced.A foldable trolley has a base having two sides each having at a top thereof a support member, connecting members connecting the sides so that they can be moved towards and away from one another, wheel members on which the trolley base is mounted, and a detachable trolley top adapted in a horizontal working position to bridge and be supported on the support members when the trolley sides are spaced apart, and in a storage position to be suspended at one side of the folded trolley base.
Abstract: A small book having a cover and pages therein formed from a single sheet and method of making the book are provided. A single substantially rectangular sheet is divided into a plurality of printed panels integrally formed together. The panels are folded upon each other to form the cover and pages. Each of the panels forms the pages and cover and has printed thereon thematic information so that a series of small collectable books are created.
Abstract: A system for monitoring a variable output paper processing device is provided. The monitoring system includes a counter which counts the number of papers processed and provides a count signal for each counted paper. A controller receives the count signals and totals the counts. The controller transmits the total count to a central station through a modem after either a predetermined time or a predetermined count. Internal diagnostic signals in the printing device are intercepted as they are transmitted to an internal display device of the printing device and transmitted to the central computer through the modem.

Abstract: A hanger comprised of an integral body of molded synthetic material defines a hook portion having an interior detent for the receipt of a display rod and an elongate channel open exteriorly of the hanger body and extending into communication with the detent, the detent being of cross-sectional dimension exceeding the cross-sectional dimension of the channel, the hanger being adapted to retentively, releasably contain the display rod on insertion thereof through the channel into the detent by imposing generally radially directed force onto the display rod. The hanger body includes a central portion with an extension thereabove and a transversely extending member cantilever-supported by the extension, the transversely extending member having an exterior surface bounding the channel and the detent.

Abstract: A system for implanting a solid marker in an animal is provided. The apparatus includes a hollow tube having an entrance and an exit opening. A support is provided for supporting a hollow tube. A plunger is slideably disposed between a first position and a second position within the support. The plunger cooperates with the support and the tube. The plunger engages the marker proximate to the entrance opening of the tube, and ejects the marker through the tube when the plunger is moved from a first position to a second position. The hollow tubes are stored within the support in at least two groups. A gate prevents a tube from the second group from being displaced before the tubes from the first group as depleted.
Abstract: A MOS semiconductor device and method for manufacturing the device includes a semiconductor substrate, a first insulating film formed on the substrate, and a first wiring layer which is formed on, and to lesser width than, the first insulating film. A second insulating film is formed on the first wiring layer. A side wall insulating film is formed on side walls of the first wiring layer and of the second insulating film. The sidewall insulating film is formed in such a manner as to have progressively larger width as the side wall insulating film comes closer to the semiconductor substrate. A second wiring layer is formed in such a manner as to extend from above the first wiring layer, which it is spaced by the second insulating film, to an exposed surface of the semiconductor substrate. The latter exposed surface is situated in proximity to, but laterally spaced from, the first wiring layer. The second insulating film and the side wall insulating film serve as an interlayer insulating film.
Abstract: A projection-type display device having a single light source which produces light. A first dichroic mirror group receives the light and separates it into colored light. A transmissive light valve system modulates the colored light and a second dichroic mirror group synthesizaes the modulated colored light. A projection system projects the synthesized colored light onto a screen.

Abstract: A sanitary fixture and cover assembly is disclosed. The cover, which is hinged to the sanitary fixture, encloses at least the area where the water delivery means, i.e. faucet, is mounted.
Abstract: An apparatus for determining the print region for individual sheets of paper for use in a printer is provided. A paper sheet feeder for feeding the individual sheets of paper is supported on the printer. A sensor detects the presence of a sheet of paper fed by the paper sheet feeder. A microprocessor measures the length of the individual sheet of paper based upon the detection from the detector and provides a measurement value. The microprocessor computes the size of a possible print region of each sheet paper based upon this measurement value and displays the size of a possible print region on a display. Memory associated with the printer stores the size of the possible print region for setting the internal condition of the printer upon the introduction of power to the printer.
