Abstract: A method and apparatus for removing internal carbon deposits and related residue and contaminants from fuel injected and carbureted internal combustion engine systems by delivering fuel to the inlet of the engine fuel pump while the engine is cranked by battery power to start the engine and then delivering an engine conditioning fuel, which is a mixture of normal engine fuel and a carbon cleaning agent, to the fuel pump inlet so that the conditioning fuel passes through and removes carbon deposits from the engine fuel injectors or carburetor, as the case may be, and is then combusted in the engine cylinders to power the engine. The effectiveness of the carbon cleaning operation is determined by monitoring the flow rate of normal engine fuel to the engine.

The carrier has a grip portion to be held in one hand and means on the grip portion engagable with the container handles for supporting the containers in suspended fashion from the carrier. A container package including a cluster of juxtaposed containers having handles and a carrier attached to the container handles including a grip to be held in one hand for carrying the container package.
Abstract: A block coding system wherein switching block coding integrated circuit chips changes the coding parameters by selecting the number of colors per block from the minimum of two to six or more, and selecting the block size correspondingly to maintain coding efficiency, thus to insure quality of color in video data transferred over medium to narrow-band paths. Switching integrated circuit chips in the system can set coding parameters for the acceptable degree of degradation by data compression block coding of any type of structured data, including digital television signals transferable over a data path of medium to narrow bandwidth.
Abstract: A lamp configuration particularly for infrared radiation provides an internal arrangement and environment adapted to overcome failure modes of prior art broad band infrared sources, and may incorporate optical elements including spectral filters and lenses enabling wavelength selection, beam shaping, external focusing, collimating, and wave front shaping. It also facilitates optical coupling to external devices including a rotating mirror, shutter and modulator devices.
Abstract: An improved valve of the class referred to as capacity fuse valves which closes in response to passage of a total fluid flow volume through the valve to the valve outlet. The incoming fluid entering the valve inlet is split into a main flow that passes through a variable main flow metering port to the valve outlet and a control flow that passes through a variable control flow metering orifice and is utilized to close the valve upon passage of a predetermined main flow volume (main flow valve closure volume) through the valve. The areas of the main flow metering port and the control flow metering orifice are varied in response to the fluid inflow rate into the valve inlet and/or fluid temperature in such a way as to maintain a substantially fixed ratio between the main flow rate and the control flow rate, and thereby a substantially constant main flow valve closure volume, over a range of fluid inflow rates and/or temperatures.
Abstract: A lawn game is provided in which plastic golf balls are struck with plastic golf clubs at a target. Surrounding the target is a plurality of rings of varying size. Each ring is made up of a flexible length of tubing having opposite ends. The opposite ends can be connected together to transpose the length of tubing into a ring. The lengths of tubing can also be connected together with the other lengths of tubing to form a long length of tubing. This long length of tubing is conveniently rolled up and stored on a take-up reel.
Abstract: A drain valve assembly for positively sealing an aircraft waste system drain line to prevent waste fluid leakage and the formation of so-called "blue ice" due to such leakage during high altitude flight. The valve assembly has an inlet for connection to the drain line, an outlet for connection to a waste drain hose of an airport waste disposal facility, and an outer valve cover and inner ball valve between the inlet and outlet which provide truly redundant seals for the drain port in flight, can be opened with relative ease when frozen, are relatively immune to improper sealing due to obstruction by waste, enable removal of a frozen waste blockage in the waste flow path without a sudden large waste dump, and permit inspection and easy replacement, if necessary, of the valve seals.

Abstract: A screen frame assembly for mounting a printing screen includes a rectangular screen frame proper having a rectangular opening, and screen anchor members removably secured to frame anchor members along the four sides of the frame opening and having bonding surfaces to be adhesively or otherwise bonded to the screen edges for securing the screen to the frame. The screen anchor members are separable from the frame anchor members to clean the screen anchor members for reuse and to replace screen anchor members which are damaged or otherwise unusable.
Abstract: An adjustable eyeglass holder to be mounted in an automotive vehicle, boat, airplane, office, room, or other location for holding conventional prescription eyeglasses and sun glasses, as well as clip-on eyeglasses attachable to conventional eyeglasses, and having a range of sizes and nose bridge configurations.
Abstract: A fuel spill containment system for use with an underground fuel tank has two upstanding fill tubes extending upwardly from the tank through the bottom wall of a spill container. Each tube has an adjustable sealed connection with the container bottom wall to adapt to the container for different fill tube spacings. The spill container is floatably positioned within a protective casing having an overhead cover with an access opening above the fill tubes. A flexible annular sleeve extends from the spill container side wall to the overhead cover to form a flexible liquid-tight closure about the container upper edge. Dislocations of the casing or spill container, caused by earth movements, as from freezing or earthquake, are safely absorbed by the flexible sleeve, thereby preventing earth stresses from breaking connections between the casing and the container.
Abstract: A clean-up pan has an arcuate trough-shaped bottom wall defining a side opening pouring spout for discharging material from the pan into a receiving receptacle. The bottom wall has a relatively large capacity, and its configuration reduces the likelihood of spillage when the pan contents are poured from the pan into a receiving receptacle.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing glass fibers wherein molten glass is deposited onto a spinning cup structure. Centrifugal force urges the molten glass outwardly and upwardly along the inner surface of an upstanding wall of the cup structure. The glass is then extruded through small holes in the cup wall. A downflowing stream of hot gas passes downwardly along the outer surface of the cup wall to turn the fibers downwardly while producing an attenuation (reduction) of fiber diameter. The lower portion of the cup side wall is heated to achieve greater temperature uniformity of the fibers as they are formed. A cool gas curtain is formed about the downflowing hot gas stream to somewhat concentrate the hot gas stream for more uniform heating of the downflowing glass fibers.
Abstract: A tool reach extender is usable with a variety of different hand tools, and has grip handle portion fitting into a saddle member slidably adjustable on a guide structure at one end of the reach extender. The guide structure front end is connected to a cradle which has a clamp screw engageable against the undersurface of a tool body. The cradle has a U-shaped bridging bar to overlie the upper surface of the tool body so that the nose portion of the tool is clamped in the cradle. The saddle member and cradle cooperatively grip and support the tool. Various tool sizes are accommodated.
Abstract: A display device is formed of thin plastic sheet material extending about a peripheral frame. The frame is formed of a relatively stiff annular core element encapsulated within a resilient foam sheath or shell. In attaching the plastic sheet to the annular frame, edge areas of the sheet are wrapped about the surface of the rubber shell so that the shell is deformed inwardly toward the frame central axis, whereby the deformed shell exerts outward force on the plastic sheet to prevent or remove wrinkling of the sheet. The display device may be suspended, as from a cord or a button on a garment of a person.
Abstract: A valve which is particularly suited for use as a vacuum relief valve in an industrial vacuum cleaning system and which the vacuum operator may quickly and easily open from any position throughout a full 360 degrees about the valve to cut off the suction at the intake end of the vacuum system suction hose in the event the hose becomes blocked or some part of the vacuum operator's body or clothes is accidentally sucked into the intake end.
Abstract: A rotary beverage dispensing device includes a turntable having an upstanding partition structure forming chambers facing away from the turntable rotational axis and beverage container support mechanism in each chamber. Each beverage container has a downwardly directed discharge spout, and a shut-off valve to control flow of liquid beverage through the spout. The dispensing device is especially designed for carbonated beverages and fruit juices, and enables the user to select different beverages for dispensing, depending on individual preference.
Abstract: A safety restraint system for a worker on an elevated structure has an elongated cable extending between cable supports spaced apart along the structure. The worker has a lanyard or line attached to a connector encircling the cable, whereby the worker can move along the support or ledge while restrained against falling. The connector includes a ring element with a radial slot wider than the transverse thickness of a support plate at each cable support to enable the ring element to pass through the cable support without being disconnected from cable. The slot is narrower than the cable thickness so that it is impossible for the worker to pull the ring element to draw the slot over the cable. Each ring element is slidably movable along the cable system to remove the ring from the cable system, and retractable stop means are provided at the endmost cable support to prevent inadvertent removal of a ring element from the cable system.
Abstract: A carrier for relatively heavy liquid containers, such as half-gallon bottles and gallon jugs, has container holders in the form of split collars that hold the containers by their necks and are pivotally attached to a bridge section by which the carrier is supported in normal carrying position to prevent accidental release of the containers from the carrier by twisting of the collars relative to the container necks in response to bending of the bridge section under the weight of the containers.
