Patent number: 8328168Abstract: An aerator particularly useful in the aeration of waste treatment systems. The aerator has a hollow support pipe communicating air to arms having diffuser stones, the support pipe extending upwardly from a weighted base. The diffuser stones are near the ends of the arms. A first pair of arms is lower than a second pair of arms and each pair of arms has a common axis. The axes of the arms are angled relative to each other. The diffusers on the lower pair of arms are angled upward and the diffusers on the upper arms are angled downward. The aerator provides a large projected area for the diffusers as viewed from above, and spreads air bubbles laterally away from the aerator. The aerator of the present invention keeps the diffusers above the bottom at an optimized height while maximizing aeration.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2010Date of Patent: December 11, 2012Assignee: AK IndustriesInventor: Michael D. Patent number: 8267410Abstract: A suspension for a trailer vehicle that allows the trailer itself to be used as a ramp. The suspension has an axle having an axis and wheels at each end of the axle. The axle is pivotally connected to the vehicle at a pivotal connection and the axis of the axle is offset from the pivotal connection to the vehicle. An actuation device having a first and second end is pivotally connected to the axle at its first end. The actuation device is movable between a retracted length and extended length. Shifting the actuation device between its retracted and extended lengths causes the axle to pivot about the pivotal connection on the trailer, thereby changing the height of the vehicle relative to the ground surface. The trailer can be used as a ramp, thus, eliminating the need for separate ramps.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2010Date of Patent: September 18, 2012Inventors: Michael S. Stutz, John Slayter

Patent number: 8237037Abstract: An electric spoon for being played as a musical instrument. The spoon has a head and an elongate handle. A sensor is mounted to the spoon for sensing vibrations transmitted through the handle when the spoon is struck. The sensor emits an electrical signal in response to the vibrations. The signals are used by an amplifier that may be connected to the spoon. Spoons can be joined together. Rivets or other mechanical fasteners may be used to keep the spoons together as a spoon set. When this is done one spoon has a sensor and the other does not, but serves to make contact with the other spoon when either is struck. The joined spoons can be used by a novice spoon player because less dexterity is required to keep the spoons in proper position when being played.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2010Date of Patent: August 7, 2012Inventor: Larry L. Patent number: 8201429Abstract: A blanking line including an uncoiler, a first feeder, a slitter, and a shear. A coil of metal is carried by the uncoiler. The first feeder removes the material from the coil and typically includes a leveler for leveling the metal. The metal is fed from the leveler into a looping pit that is located between the leveler and slitter. The slitter feeds and slits the material a predetermined distance and is driven with servo motors. The looping pit acts as an accumulator allowing the metal to hang so the slitter can move metal intermittently into a shear while the leveler runs at a constant rate. The shear cuts the material to a predetermined length corresponding with the distance that the material is fed by the slitter. A measuring wheel may be included to measure the distance that the material is moved by the slitter.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2009Date of Patent: June 19, 2012Assignee: Braner USA, Inc.Inventor: Douglas Matsunaga
