Abstract: A rapid and effective means for decontaminating fouled oil-control booms is provided. The process involves washing the boom with pressured washing fluid, reorienting the boom to facilitate full inspection, and drying the boom. This can be performed in an assembly-line manner, using one or more conveyors to transport the boom sequentially to a washing area, an inspection area, and a drying area. Consequently, contaminated oil-control booms can be cleaned and redeployed rapidly and inexpensively during an oil release accident.

Abstract: A weather alert manager is used to provide real-time, site specific information to a user regarding weather and possibly other hazards. The weather alert manager compares meteorological data, a user profile including information on points of interest to the user, and geographical data to determine if weather will impact one or more of the user's points of interest. The user's points of interest include at least one mobile point of interest, which periodically transmits its location. The weather alert manager transmits a user alert message if one is needed, and a remote receiver notifies the user that a message has been received.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides for a scientific formulation useful in the treatment and prevention of human and animal diseases. A biologically effective amount of each of the components of the formulation is administered to patients in pill (or capsule) form via multiple different and identifiable pills. The compounds of the formulation are segregated into different pill types, and contain various amounts of the compounds Curcumin, Genistein, Squalamine, Vitamin E, N-Acetyl-Cysteine, Methylselenocysteine, Zinc Gluconate, B Complex, Lentinen, Coenzyme Q10 Acetyl-L-Carnitine, Lipoic Acid, Resveratrol, and Vitamin C. Furthermore, Arabinoxylan and/or Peperine may be added to the various pill formulations.

Abstract: A stance and rotational swing training device is provided. The device comprises a base with a front foot stop adjustably attached to a top surface of the base for receiving a user's front foot. The user's back foot is received by a rotatable foot pedal rotatably attached to the top surface of the base. The rotatable foot pedal comprises a circular base with a peripheral toe stop that prevents the user's toes from sliding off the foot pedal. An angled riser is rigidly affixed to the top surface of the base adjacent to the foot pedal. The riser guides the heel end of the user's back foot and forces the heel to rise as the user swings a sporting implement, such as a baseball bat or golf club.

Abstract: An allergen-free transgenic peanut seed is produced by recombinant methods. Peanut plants are transformed with multiple copies of each of the allergen genes, or fragments thereof, to suppress gene expression and allergen protein production. Alternatively, peanut plants are transformed with peanut allergen antisense genes introduced into the peanut genome as antisense fragments, sense fragments, or combinations of both antisense and sense fragments. Peanut transgenes are under the control of the 35S promoter, or the promoter of the Ara h2 gene to produce antisense RNAs, sense RNAs, and double-stranded RNAs for suppressing allergen protein production in peanut plants. A full length genomic clone for allergen Ara h2 is isolated and sequenced. The ORF is 622 nucleotides long. The predicted encoded protein is 207 amino acids long and includes a putative transit peptide of 21 residues. One polyadenilation signal is identified at position 951. Six additional stop codons are observed.

Abstract: A plurality of interlocking panels is provided. A panel assembly comprises a plurality of generally rectangular panel members assembled in interlocking relationship. Each panel member has a substantially flat planar main body and two side edges that interconnect with adjacent panel members. After the panels are interlocked together, the interlocking components on the inner walls of the side edges are covered by the smooth outer walls of the side edges. The panels may be used to fabricate a fence.

Abstract: A method for centrifugal casting using a sand core having a refractory coating applied in a dry state, without the use of a liquid carrier, said coating sufficient to withstand the adverse forces of the centrifugal casting environment and yield a finished cast surface with a consistent, smooth surface. The coating may be applied by pressing the coating into a mixture of refractory material and impacting media fluidized in a vibratory bed such that the core floats in the mixture, and then rotating the core to coat the surfaces that will be in contact with the molten metal in the casting process.

Abstract: A rotary mower with a plurality of cutting blades is provided. The deck comprises two longitudinal baffles that direct grass clippings to the rear of the mower. The longitudinal baffles, in conjunction with right and left side blade guards, form three channels. A cutting blade is disposed within each channel. A lift frame assembly comprises swiveling linkages that allow rotation of the deck with respect to the trailer hitch.

Abstract: A tiller with a removable tine rotor is provided. The tiller comprises a cavity formed by a top deck and end plates. The end plates comprise rotating spindles rotatably attached to the end plates. A gearbox translates rotation from a tractor to one of the rotating spindles. A tine rotor extends between the spindles and rotates to till soil. The tine rotor is releasably connected to the spindles within the cavity, such that the tine rotor is removable from the tiller without disassembly of the end plates.

Abstract: An air rooting shell comprises a first shell half mateable with a second shell half to form a shell for enclosing around a branch. The shell comprises a reservoir for containing planting medium and an upper lipped opening that receives the branch and collects and funnels water to the reservoir. A bottom opening is provided through which the lower portion of the branch may exit. Side openings on the shell may be used to enclose a branch in a horizontal orientation, while the upper lipped opening remains vertically oriented to receive water.

Abstract: A flangeway former and rail boot system where the flangeway former has an anchor for anchoring the former in surrounding material, and a groove for receiving a protrusion on the rail boot for positioning the former on the boot. The system can also include a spacer and retaining clips.

Abstract: An apparatus for extending the wear life of flight bars used in chain-driven scraper conveyor systems by using a replaceable bar end. The bar end is securely attached to the flight bar body by a tongue protruding through an aperture in the bar end and interlocking with the clamp that secures the flight bar to the drive chain, without the use of additional fasteners. The replaceable bar end may be made from a different material than the body of the flight bar. Therefore, a wear resistant material could be used for the bar end, with the bar body and clamp made from conventional, typically more ductile materials. This invention therefore allows for the flight bar end to be replaced as required saving the cost of the main flight bar body and clamp.

Abstract: A surfacing composition made of recycled paint, which requires no priming, has a non-reflective “flat” appearance, and is partially composed of dried paint. The composition provides a useful application for used or excess household paint, which would otherwise require special methods of disposal and potentially create future toxic cleanup problems. The composition is made of granular dried paint and a water-based sealer, which can be spread on a surface to repair imperfections. The surface can then be finished, and no priming is required. Due to the composition's flat appearance, the patch does not display any characteristic sheen where the repair has been made. The composition provides a simple means of recycling paint, and provides a simple and inexpensive means of repairing imperfections in walls and other surfaces while saving the step of priming the patch before painting or repainting.

Abstract: A universal vehicle window vent is provided. The window vent has a bottom portion for receiving a vehicle window, and a top portion for engaging the window channel of a vehicle's door. The window vent is dimensioned to fit any vehicle window such that when it is installed, an opening is created.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes novel standardized citrate replacement fluid solutions and a standardized dialysate solution for use with CRRT methods. The standardized citrate replacement fluid solutions and standardized dialysate solutions do not require modification based on the clinical status of the individual patients. The use of the standardized solutions described herein offers significant advantages over the prior art solutions used in CRRT. The present disclosure describes superior metabolic and electrolyte control and significantly increased dialyzer patency in: (a) 24 intensive care unit (ICU) patients with ARF using a 0.67% trisodium citrate replacement fluid solution, and (b) 32 ICU patients with ARF using a 0.5% trisodium citrate replacement fluid solution. Both groups were treated with Bicarbonate-25 dialysate and achieved effluent rates of 35 mL/kg/hr.

Abstract: An AC/DC power supply and platform for a military radio has been developed. The apparatus includes a base that supports at least one SINCGARS RT-1523 radio. The base is connected to an AC power supply and at least one DC power supply. The AC supply and DC power supply are configured to switch automatically to the DC power supply should the AC power supply fail. The housing of the platform is sealed from the exterior environment with gaskets.
