    Abstract: An approach to extending the dynamic range of the detector of a mass spectrometer is described. In one embodiment, in the case of high intensity beams, means are provided to deflect the ion beam, after the collector slit (1), on to an attenuator (4), which may be a grid or an array of small holes, through which only a small fraction of the ion beam reaches the ion detector (6). Use of an array of holes ensures that the recorded signal is insensitive to the distribution of ions within the beam. The beam passes directly to a detector if the signal is of low intensity.

    Abstract: A rotary cutter for a mower is described including at least one cord of a predetermined length extending from the cutting head driven for rotation, and at least one fastening element for fixing one end of the cord to the cutting head main body. The fastening element includes a pair of ratchets. Each ratchet pivots for turning on the main body and is constantly applied with a rotational force in a predetermined direction by a spring. The cord is clamped and fastened by the ratchets. An inner end portion of the cord inserted from the sidewall of the main body is fastened by the fastening element, and the cord is removed and replaced with a new cord when the cord is worn out. The fastening element including a pair of ratchets with each ratchet of the pair including at least two or more sheets of laminated ratchets.

    Abstract: A container for food, such as used for the storage or packaging of tostadas, manufactured as a carton, which is formed with eight sections or sides that are joined by adhesive at an edge to fold the container is disclosed. The container also has edges placed on the top and bottom ends that, when interwoven towards the center of the container, permit the formation of a kind of bow with which the container is kept closed. In order to open the container, it is only necessary to pull outwards on opening projections which are part of the bow. Likewise, and as a consequence of the interweaving of the edges, an internal pulling acts as a muffling, thereby helping the food, e.g., tostadas, to be maintained in a good state, without being broken.

The lateral relative movement is determined by comparing the temporally successive reflection patterns.
