Abstract: An apparatus to extract water from ambient air. The apparatus includes a dehumidifier, a holding tank, and one or more dispensing tanks in which water is maintained hot or cold. Provision is made to recycle water in the holding tank through an aerator to prevent stagnation of stored water. Water from the holding tank is pumped through a filter system before entering the dispensing tanks. A safety control is provided to prevent overflowing a collection pump reservoir in event of interruption in normal water flow in the machine. Provision is made to control bacteria and algae.
Abstract: A hospital gown having closable openings on left and right sides to provide:access for physician examination to selectable portions of a patient's torso from either side, while substantially maintaining a cover over the unexamined portions.
Abstract: A bearing support system for eccentric and idler pulleys used in archery compound bows. The support system allows use of bearings having reduced friction, including low cost ball bearing assemblies, and increases pulley stability by providing a wider bearing stance.
Abstract: A device to assist in guiding a hose onto a spool while protecting a user's hand from friction and debris or contamination carried by the hose. The device is a slotted cylinder having a through-bore and which may be installed onto the hose at any point along its length. Preferred embodiments have flared open ends and a spiral slot which may be expanded to accommodate hoses of different diameter. The device may be “cocked” with respect to the hose to provide friction and apply an axially directed force to the hose.
Abstract: A step-in, releasable cross country binding mechanism allowing rotational and/or forward release of the binding toe piece and skier from the ski. A cleat, mounted to the bottom of a binding toe pieces is relesably retained by spring loaded structure located between a ski boot and ski. A step-in heel piece is connected to the toe piece by a cable.
Abstract: A hole cutter adapted for cutting holes through the sidewalls of medical catheters is fashioned from a hollow tube having a distal cutting end, a proximal ejection end and a lumen of smaller diameter near the cutting end. Slugs formed at the cutting end are extracted by suction applied to the ejection end, and are captured by a filter.
Abstract: A device to inflate a balloon and maintain it in an inflated state while providing access to the expanded balloon orifice for purpose of inserting objects. The device has a transparent, cylindrical, balloon chamber covered by a vertically movable lid having a balloon orifice expanding mechanism consisting of multiple, cam actuated, retracting fingers. Lid support columns also function as air supply ducts and have stops to hold the lid at convenient elevations for insertion of deflated balloons and removal of inflated balloons containing objects. A preferred embodiment applies positive pressure to inflate the balloon, although vacuum applied exterior to the balloon is also workable.
