  • Patent number: 8202180
Abstract: A device for use in launching and catching flying discs includes a frame having a handle section and an open forked section. The opened forked section includes a pair of opposing forks wherein each fork has a distal end and a proximal end with the distal end being free and the proximal end adjoining the proximal end of the opposing fork. Flexible material such as nylon netting is strung between the opposing forks in a manner which enables the formation of a relatively deep elongated channel having an open end so that a forceful swing of the device will cause a flying disc placed in the channel to roll in the channel and out through the open end of the channel at a high rate of speed. A method of using the device to launch a flying disc as well as a novel flying disc are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8113559
Abstract: A device for attachment to sheet material such as a tarpaulin, pool cover or bag includes an elongated bar having first and second raised mounting surfaces as well as an open ended elongated sleeve for receiving the bar and a sheet of material positioned around the bar. The elongated sleeve also has a slit which extends from one open end of the sleeve to its other open end and which enables sheet material positioned around the bar and received in the sleeve to extend outwardly through the slit on opposite sides of the bar. The generally raised mounting surfaces are sized and configured to project outwardly from the bar through the slit when the bar is received in the sleeve so that the bar can be rigidly affixed to an object such as the side of a building, vehicle or a handle.

  • Patent number: 8006843
Abstract: A stackable food and beverage service tray includes a substantially planar tray bottom and a sloping side wall extending upwardly and outwardly from an inner peripheral edge of the tray bottom so as to surround said tray bottom. The tray bottom has an upper floor surface and an underside surface. The tray's sloping side wall has an inner surface and an outer surface with the side wall's outer surface adjoining the tray's underside surface at a peripheral bottom edge of the tray. A raised rib is provided on the inner surface of the sloping side wall. Feet are also provided on the tray's underside surface along the bottom edge of the tray. The tray's raised rib and feet cooperate to define a space between stacked trays through which air can flow to facilitate drying of the stacked trays after they have been washed.

  • Patent number: 7891067
Abstract: An elastic band expander tool has a base plate and a cam plate rotatably secured to each other for rotation about an axis. The cam plate has three slots, each of which curves inwardly towards the axis at its outer end. The base plate has three expander bars moveably mounted on it, each of which has a finger extending therefrom and a cam pin for moving in an associated cam slot. When the cam plate is rotated on the base plate, the cam pins ride in the slots and move outwardly away from the axis. This movement causes the expander bars to move outwardly, thereby expanding an elastic band fitted about the fingers. When the cam pins reach the end of their respective cam slots, the tool locks in place, to provide hands-free operation.

  • Patent number: 7704588
Abstract: A decorative tie member for securing a ribbon about a gift package is disclosed. The tie member has an underside for placement against a package and a generally oppositely facing decorative surface. The tie member is provided with at least one inner opening and first and second outer openings. To secure a ribbon about a package with the tie member, a free end of the ribbon is threaded through an inner opening from the underside surface of the tie member to and through the exposed decorative surface of the tie member. The free end is then threaded back through the tie member through the tie member's first outer opening and the threading is continued until a desired excess portion of the ribbon has been threaded through the openings. The process is then repeated with the other free end of the ribbon through an inner opening and the second outer opening located on the other side of the tie member.
