Patent number: 7449052Abstract: The invention relates to a composite structure consisting of a relatively long filtration bar comprising, from the outside, an ultra-thin layer (26) that is selectively permeable to hydrogen and made from palladium or silver alloy. Said layer is disposed on a permeable, rigid, refractory substrate consisting of a more or less solid body (30) that is covered with an intermediary thin layer (28) having a relatively smooth surface. The body (30) and the intermediary layer (28) are made respectively by sintering with fine and ultra-fine Inconel grains. A rigid metallic axial structure (32) is embedded in the body (30). Veinlets (31), which are made in the body (30) through the destruction of thermo-destructible wires during sintering, increase the permeability of the substrate. The invention is particularly applicable to hydrogen-producing combustible gas processors.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2002Date of Patent: November 11, 2008Assignee: Compagnie Europeenne des Technologies de l'HydrogeneInventors: Claude Etievant, Dominique De Lapparent, Fanny Gaillard, Roger Le Cren, Karine Pointet

Patent number: 6491438Abstract: It is an object of the invention to improve wear resistance and an anti-seizure property of a portion , on which a radial load operates owing to tension of a cogged belt or a V-belt, of a plain bearing for an engine. A main shaft portion of a crankshaft is in uneven contact with an upper half bearing owning to tension of the cogged belt and/or the V-belt. A branch groove is formed in a portion forwarder than an oil groove formed on the bearing surface of a upper half bearing of a plain bearing, the branch groove branching off from the oil groove. When an engine stops, lubricant is stored within the branch grooves, and when the engine restarts, the lubricant within the branch grooves is immediately supplied to the uneven contact portion of the main shaft portion though the rotation thereof.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 2000Date of Patent: December 10, 2002Assignee: Daido Metal Company Ltd.Inventors: Akira Ono, Satoshi Imai, Takayuki Shibayama

Patent number: 6348746Abstract: Disclosed a slider unit having built-in a moving-coil linear motor made compact in construction by the provision of an improved magnet yoke for supporting field magnets, which is made in a slim construction, nevertheless very high in stiffness. The magnet yoke is comprised of a pair of confronting webs and a connecting web to connect integrally the confronting webs to each other. The magnet yoke of such integral construction helps ensure the overall high stiffness despite the webs being made thin. Thus, the magnet yoke may be made considerably slim, compared with the prior magnet yoke in which the confronting webs and connecting web are produced individually. A moving-coil assembly is installed to a table movable in a sliding manner through linear motion guide units with respect to a stationary bed.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 2000Date of Patent: February 19, 2002Assignee: Nippon Thompson Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shoji Fujisawa, Eiji Ida

Patent number: 5780811Abstract: This diesel particulate filter comprises of a composite filter plate composed of thin filter plates formed out of ceramic fiber, and a latticed heating wire, and metal nets. The composite filter plate is bent into a bellows-like structure so as to increase a cross-sectional area of an exhaust gas passage. The latticed heating wire is formed to a current self-controlling type heating wire out of a material containing Ni as a main component the resistance value of which increases as the temperature rises. The particulates collected by the thin filter plates are burnt by supplying an electric current to the latticed heating wire. When a high-temperature region occurs on the thin filter plates, the level of an electric current flowing to the portion of the latticed heating wire which corresponds to the same region is reduced. Consequently, all the regions of the thin filter plates are heated at a uniform temperature, and the melting and breakage of the thin filter plates do not occur.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 1996Date of Patent: July 14, 1998Assignee: Isuzu Ceramics Research Institute Co., Ltd.Inventor: Hideo Kawamura
