Abstract: A process for the preparation of the enol lactone of 2-oxocyclohexylidene acetic acid wherein(i) glyoxylic acid is allowed to react with cyclohexanone in the presence of a halogen acid in order to obtain a crude reaction product B1, then(ii) said crude reaction product B1 is allowed to react, after solubilisation in an organic solvent, in the presence of a strong acid soluble in said organic solvent or of strongly acid resins, in order to obtain the enol lactone of 2-oxocyclohexylidene acetic acid which is isolated if desired, and application to the preparation of 2-coumaranone.
Abstract: A charging apparatus of driverless transporting vehicle comprises a power unit, an electrode assembly connected to the power unit and sildably anlong a predetermined direction, a motor for sliding the assembly, an electrode unit rotatably journalled with assembly by a shaft and contactable with charging terminal of the vehicle and a spring for rotating the electrode unit around the shaft and extruding it outside. Wherein when the assembly slides, the electrode unit comes in contact with the terminal, further when the assembly slides, the electrodo unit comes in contact with the terminal, rotates around the shaft against the spring and keeps its contact with the terminal.
Abstract: A substantially anhydrous lubricating composition containing solid particles of a fluorinated (co)polymer having a maximum size of 1 .mu.m and coated with an ethoxylated nonylphenol having 10-12 ethylene oxide molecules. A preparation method is also provided.
Abstract: A method of building a structure on a substrate, said method including the steps of providing on the substrate a support arrangement capable of adopting a first, substantially rigid state whilst the structure is being built thereabove, and a subsequent, second state permitting the accommodation of movement of, and/or forces in, the substrate (e.g. due to heave). The support arrangement comprises fluid confinable means which, in the arrangement's first state, confines a fluid therein to a first space and is operable (via said fluid) to support the structure or at least parts thereof above the substrate, and which, in the arrangement's second state, does not confine the fluid and is either in a reduced space or is readily compressible to a reduced space by said movement and/or forces.
Abstract: A programmable integrated circuit for prototyping applications including a first patterned metal layer, an insulation layer formed over the first metal layer and a second patterned metal layer formed over the insulation layer, the first and second patterned metal layers being formed with selectably removable regions, the insulation layer being formed with apertures overlying at least some of the selectably removable regions, and there being formed over the selectably removable regions a coating comprising a layer of a dielectric material of high laser radiation absorption coefficient.

Abstract: A foam body is made integrally of at least a layer of foam material having great resilience and at least a layer of foam material having great capability to absorb shock. The foam material having great capability to absorb shock is made from a first mixture while the foam material having great resilience is made from a second mixture. The first and the second mixtures contain respectively 5-50% by weight of acrylobutadiene rubber, 50-95% by weight of polyvinyl chloride, a plasticizer, a bridging agent, a foaming agent, an extrusion-aiding agent and other additives. The first mixture differs from the second mixture in that the former contains less than 50 parts by weight of the plasticizer and that the latter contains more than 50 parts by weight of the plasticizer. The first and the second mixtures are stacked orderly in a mold cavity in which they are heated under pressure to foam to take shape of the foam body.
Abstract: An acousto-optical filter (AOTF) is used in a spectrometer for analysis of samples. The spectrometer provides continuous wave RF excitation through the crystal, and the spectrometer provides control and modulation for said RF source. The signal to noise ratio is improved by use of a lock-in amplifier which demodulates the modulation frequency. Fiber optics are used to connect the crystal to the source, and the source to the detection system. A digital lock-in amplifier is designed which increases the efficiency, accuracy, sensitivity and decreases the cost of conventional analog lock-in amplifier.
Abstract: Artificial hair for hair-implantation, which is composed of a monofilament of a synthetic resin, wherein amorphous silver is adhered in spots to the surface of the monofilament by vacuum depositing said silver of the monofilament.
Abstract: Calcium enriched milk or toned milk prepared by adding a water soluble calcium salt of an organic acid to thermally sterilized milk or toned milk, and adjusting the pH value of the obtained mixture to 6.6 or above is disclosed.Calcium enriched milk or toned milk which formes no precipitate can be successfully prepared by adding a water-soluble calcium salt of an organic acid to milk or toned milk which is previously sterilized by heating and adjusting the pH value of the mixture to 6.6 or above.
Abstract: The invention relates to an electrochemical cell which is safe even under adverse conditions and abuse. The cells comprise an alkaline metal anode, a current collector and an inorganic oxyhalide liquid cathode which contains an alkaline earth metal salt in a suitable solvent, such as thionyl chloride. The cell may contain sulfur dioxide dissolved in the solvent. Suitable salts are alkaline earth metal aluminum chlorides.

Abstract: The present invention relates to anhydrous crystals of maltitol and the whole crystalline hydrogenated starch hydrolysate mixture solid containing the crystals, and processes for the production and use thereof.
Abstract: The invention relates to total elimination of aqueous deposits in pipelines intended for transporting gaseous fluids, such as a natural gas. The method involves sending, by a nozzle at an end of at least one compressed air ejector, connected with the pipeline, a pressurized driving fluid (for example, under 4 to 8 bars) into a pipeline which aspirates and entrains the gaseous fluid (air+water vapor), the mixture of fluids then being discharged at the other end of the ejector. In practice, multistage ejectors for example three ejectors in series, are used. According to a variant of the method, the step of putting gas which is to be transported into the pipeline is done while the vacuum is maintained in the ejector or ejectors so as always to be outside the limits of flammability of this gas. The method is particularly suitable for drying natural gas pipelines and then putting the pipelines under pressure.
Abstract: The invention comprises a roller blind box including a walling surrounding the rolled up roller blind assembly, a passage slit for the roller blind assembly extending throughout the entire length of the walling, two lateral face walls a roller blind shaft supported in the two face walls as well as a gearing for driving the roller blind shaft, wherein the walling surrounding the roller blind assembly has the form of a tube of a circular cross-section.
Abstract: Apparatus for so-called "in-line" production of hollow articles of thermoplastic material, by blowing or vacuum moulding a sheet strip produced continuously from an extruder and subsequent stamping of the separate articles. The mould tool consists of at least two mould half portions, which is moved along a rectilinear guide and substantially synchronously with the plastic strip. The guide for the mould tool and the direction of the sheet strip extend obliquely downwardly from the extruder nozzle, preferably at an angle to the horizontal plane of 30.degree.-60.degree. . In the zone of the guide path where the mould half portions open, stationary gripping fingers are arranged on both sides of the sheet strip. The fingers are adapted to engage the longitudinal edges of the sheet strip immediately prior to the mould half portions, being separated and to absorb the sheet strip while the mould tool returns for enclosure of a new portion of sheet strip.
