Abstract: An electronic apparatus which is equipped with an ultrasonic motor and which consumes only a small amount of electric power, is stable in performance, and is capable of accurately controlling the angular position is offered.A driving pulse storage circuit stores driving pulses corresponding to the environment of the components of the ultrasonic motor. A stopping pulse storage circuit stores stopping pulses corresponding to the environment of the components of the motor. An environment detection means detects the environment of the components. An output pulse-selecting circuit receives the output signal from a driving pulse-generating circuit and the output signal from a stopping pulse-generating circuit and produces output pulses corresponding to the output signal from a detection signal-generating circuit to a piezoelectric vibrator-driving circuit. The moving member and the output means are operated by ultrasonic vibration of the vibrating member.

Abstract: The NC complex automatic lathe is provided with a main spindle receptive therein a workpiece for chucking the same such as to protrude a front end portion of the workpiece, and a main spindle base for supporting the main spindle rotatably around a center axis and displaceably in a lengthwise direction of the workpiece. A turret type tool slide is disposed in the vicinity of the front end portion of the workpiece. The turret type tool slide is displaced transversely toward the center of the workpiece. A plurality of tool slide members are arranged radially around the front end portion of the workpiece in a free space away from the moving area of the turret type tool slide such as to undergo displacements toward the center of the workpiece.
Abstract: Oil compositions are disclosed which are substantially undeteriorative even in an oxidizing atmosphere and suitably applicable as lubricating oils, heat transfer oils, heat treating oils and electrical discharge machining oils. The composition is essentially comprised of 100 weight parts of a selected base oil of a mineral or synthetic class and 0.1 to 20 weight parts of a specified oil fraction. The oil fraction is an oil generated from a hydrogenated pitch and distilled to boil at from 160.degree. to 550.degree. C., the pitch being derived by primarily heat-treating and hydrogenating a heavy oil of a petroleum or coal origin, or an oil resulting from secondarily heat-treating the pitch and boiling at from 160.degree. to 550.degree. C.
Abstract: A holding device for holding an optical element to be ground is arranged such that pressure applied to a receiving face of the optical element on the holder base is made different in the radial direction in order to eliminate deformation, positional deviation or inclination of the optical element due to grinding resistances during grinding or due to high-pressure grinding. An elastic member is employed as an elastic member, or a receiving member capable of absorbing the positional deviation, the inclination, or the like of the optical element during grinding thereof is used.
Abstract: A method of driving heating resistors in a thermal recording apparatus comprising dividing a plurality of heating resistors into a plurality of separate blocks. The heating resistors in the blocks are driven by sequentially applying a pulse to each block to generate heat sequentially, whereby a current which is generated in the heating resistors by means of application of a constant voltage pulse changes from a first state with a large current to a second state with a small current in a stepwise-like manner within a pulse application time, and the plurality of blocks are sequentially driven so that the first state with a large current within the pulse application time of one block does not coincide with the first state within the pulse application time of another block.

Abstract: An alarm clock has an ambient light detector for controlling the illumination of a time displaying section. An alarm time which is selected by a user is stored in a memory. An alarm set switch is used to switch between alarm-on and alarm-off conditions. A photosensor detects the ambient light surrounding the alarm clock. The illumination of the displaying section is controlled so that the displaying section is illuminated only when the current time is within a predetermined time zone before the alarm time set by the user, the alarm set switch is in the alarm-on condition and the detected ambient light is below a predetermined level. The illumination of the displaying section is also controlled so that the display is illuminated while an alarm sound is being generated.
Abstract: A rotary vane compressor comprises a cylinder having two closed ends defining a cylinder chamber in which is rotatably mounted a rotor. The rotor carries a plurality of radially movable vanes which move radially into sliding contact with the inner surface of the cylinder chamber during rotation of the rotor to compress a refrigerant gas. The rotor is rotationally driven by a rotor shaft rotatably mounted by bearings in the cylinder ends. To prevent destruction of the ozone layer, a refrigerant containing no chlorine, such as HFC-134a (1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane; CH.sub.2 FCF.sub.3) is used, and to compensate for the inferior lubricating properties of the chlorine-free refrigerant, the bearings are provided with a manganese phosphate coating of 10 .mu.m-15 .mu.m thickness to prevent cohesion and seizure of the mutually contacting surfaces of the bearings and rotor shaft.
Abstract: An ophthalmic measurement apparatus comprises a laser beam projection section for projecting into an eye a linearly polarized laser light beam emitted by a laser source, and a light receiving section provided with a photosensor for detecting laser light scattering from within the eye. An angle of the optical axes formed by both the sections with respect to the eye is set to be substantially ninety degrees. The polarization direction of the laser beam from the laser beam projection section is made variable in such a way that, during alignment, the polarization direction is set substantially perpendicular to a plane that includes the optical axes of both the sections, and during measurement it is set in a direction that is substantially in the plane. This arrangement makes it possible to cut noise components caused by light scattered by flares which are much smaller than the wavelength of the light.
Abstract: Compositions of high lubrication and light coloration are disclosed in which a selected class of resins and rubbers is blended with a specified cured polybutadiene product. The cured product results from crosslinking more than 10% of vinyl bonds in a butadiene polymer having a vinyl bond content of not less 20% by mol in terms of its monomer unit. Also disclosed are solid lubricants comprising a specified fluorinated cured polybutadiene and compositions containing the solid lubricant.
