Abstract: In one embodiment, a private cellular system provides private cellular service and public cellular service using licensed frequency spectrum associated with a public land mobile network (PLMN). The system is configured to have a predetermined phone number that a subscriber who is using the public cellular service via the private cellular system and who is not registered to use the private cellular service provided by the system can call in order to register to use the private cellular service provided by the system and, in response thereto, the system captures a subscriber identity number associated with the subscriber and assigns a private telephone number to the subscriber that is used in connection with providing private cellular service. Another embodiment is directed to a method of enabling a prepaid hybrid subscriber to make a call using a private cellular system while outside of a coverage area associated with the private cellular system.
Abstract: Systems, methods, and media are provided for transmitting a message received from a paging network on a paging device to wireless or other electronic devices. The paging device establishes a radio connection with the wireless device and transmits the received messages to the wireless device through the established radio connection. In response to receiving a message from the paging device, the wireless device sends an acknowledgment to the paging network that the message was received and displays the message.

Abstract: A low-profile rod connector is disclosed that includes two substantially conical surfaces that allows two rods to be secured together. The device is easily manipulated and occupies very little space. The connector allows for the rods to be oriented at a number of different positions prior to securing the rods in a final orientation. Medical implants utilizing the present invention include surgical implants for spine stabilization. One particular application comprises securing the shaft of a pedicle screw to a spinal rod. In such application, since the connector is relatively small, displacement and disruption to nearby tissue is minimized. The connector also has application to external fixation systems which are conducted exterior of the skin surface, as well as other mechanical devices.
Abstract: A battery includes an anode and a cathode. An electrolyte material is disposed between the anode and the cathode. A separator is disposed between the anode and the cathode. The separator comprises an anodized metal oxide layer haying substantially straight and parallel through-pores, wherein the anodized metal oxide of the porous anodized metal oxide layer is selected from the group consisting of aluminum oxide, titanium oxide, zirconium oxide, niobium oxide, tungsten oxide, tantalum oxide, and hafnium oxide.

Abstract: A burner surface and creation method are provided. The burner surface includes a frame with a compact layer of unsintered metal and ceramic fibers that have been vacuum cast to a surface of the frame. The layer of unsintered metal and ceramic fibers is not greater than 0.5 inches, and is created without using substantial amounts of polymer pore forming or binding agents. The frame and compact layer additionally include a plurality of apertures that form holes through the burner surface plate.
Abstract: The present invention relates to antibody molecules capable of specifically recognizing two regions of the ?-A4 peptide, wherein the first region comprises the amino acid sequence AEFRHDSGY as shown in SEQ ID NO: 1 or a fragment thereof and wherein the second region comprises the amino acid sequence VHHQKLVFFAEDVG as shown in SEQ ID NO: 2 or a fragment thereof. Furthermore, nucleic acid molecules encoding the inventive antibody molecules and vectors and hosts comprising said nucleic acid molecules are disclosed. In addition, the present invention provides for compositions, preferably pharmaceutical or diagnostic compositions, comprising the compounds of the invention as well as for specific uses of the antibody molecules, nucleic acid molecules, vectors or hosts of the invention.

Abstract: Some embodiments disclose a corral configured to hold one or more shopping carts and display one or more advertisements. The corral can include: (a) an enclosure having an opening configured to receive the one or more shopping carts, the enclosure having a first side; and (b) at least one first panel located at the first side and configured to display at least a first advertisement of the one or more advertisements. The advertising panels can be configured to be coupled adjacent the opening of the corral to facilitate better visibility.
Abstract: In one embodiment, an apparatus for providing electrical power comprises a housing, at least two electrical outlets, a rotation coupler at the housing and coupled to the at least two electrical outlets, and a prong adapter rotatable relative to the rotation coupler when secured thereto. The rotation coupler comprises a central contact, a first contact set, and a second contact set. The prong adapter comprises a first prong to couple with the first contact set, a second prong to couple with the second contact set, and a third prong to couple with the central contact. The first contact set comprises two or more first contact flanges to couple with the first prong at a rear of the prong adapter. The second contact set comprises two or more second contact flanges to couple with the second prong at the rear of the prong adapter. Other examples herein described.
Abstract: Electronic field effect devices, and methods of manufacture of these electronic field effect devices are disclosed. In particular, there is disclosed an electronic field effect device which has improved electrical properties due to the formation of a highly mobile two-dimensional charge-carrier gas in a simple structure formed from diamond in combination with polar materials.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to methods of forming current collectors of an energy storage device. The current collectors can be formed either before forming the anode/cathode, or after forming the anode/cathode. In one embodiment, a current collector material is simultaneously deposited on an anode support structure and a cathode support structure to form an anode current collector and a cathode current collector. In another embodiment, a current collector material is simultaneously deposited on an anode and a cathode to form an anode current collector and a cathode current collector.
Abstract: A handheld microphone includes a hollow cylindrical housing with a portion of a cylindrical shock mount device positioned within the top end thereof. The shock mount device incorporates an isolation band such that only the isolation band contacts the inner surface of the housing, thus dampening the external noises transmitted to the dynamic element of the microphone.
Abstract: Retail packaging for a transaction card includes a carrier for retaining the transaction card, a transparent encasement enclosing the carrier, literature containing information associated with the transaction card placed within the encasement, and means for hanging the packaging within a retail environment. The encasement may take on a variety of forms, including having a curved outer surface forming a cavity within the encasement. The carrier may also take on a variety of forms, including forms having a main surface and a device for elevating the transaction card off the main surface to create a visual effect that the transaction card is floating within the encasement. The packaging may further include a panel that at least partially obscures the transaction card from view.
