  • Patent number: 8333412
Abstract: A locker has a latch bar attached to the inside surface of door by projections that extend through respective slots in the bar. The slots are configured to permit the bar to move parallel to the door between an extended position and a retracted position, the extended position being horizontally offset from the retracted position. An actuator plate is positioned between the inside surface of the door and the latch bar and is connected to a handle on the outside surface of the door. The at least one pair of spaced rollers is provided on the actuator plate. A diagonal rib is attached to the latch bar for each pair of rollers. Each diagonal rib is positioned between a respective pair of spaced apart rollers, such that when the handle and actuator plate are moved vertically, each pair of rollers will move along the diagonal rib positioned between that pair of rollers causing the latch bar to move horizontally.

  • Patent number: 8328595
Abstract: The invention is an improved yo-yo that features two side assemblies that sandwich a center axle onto which the yo-yo's tether may be secured. According to a first embodiment, each of the side assemblies preferably includes a releasable, disk-shaped rim piece. By replacing one set of replaceable rim pieces with another, a user can quickly and easily change the yo-yo's shape, look and/or functionality. To remove a rim piece, one first removes a lock ring that is secured to the rim piece and blocks a number of openings that lead to grooves in a center-located hub. Next, one employs a twisting movement of the rim piece to cause a number of tabs attached to the rim piece to slide in the hub's grooves until the tabs are aligned with the openings. The rim piece can then be disengaged from the yo-yo.

  • Patent number: 8329505
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention explore solution-based deposition of a cathode for an OLED structure. A typical embodiment of the invention may include a method performed according to the following steps: Glass substrates including deposited Indium Tin-Oxide (ITO) are prepared. The substrates are subjected to ultrasonic cleaning with deionized water and organic solvents. Features are etched into the ITO using high concentration HCl solution. A hole injecting layer is deposited by spin coater. The layer is annealed on a hot plate, then a polyphenylene vinylene (PPV) polymer is deposited by spin coater and annealed on a hot plate. Low work function cathode metal is then deposited in an electroless solution and annealed on a hot plate. The device is encapsulated.
