Abstract: A liquid chemical delivery system (20) has a pump (27) driven by an electric motor (28) to draw a liquid from a bottle (21) and dispenses the liquid into a septic system (12). Separate independent controls (36,37) connect the electric motor (28) with a source of electric power (34). One of the controls (253) has a wireless remote switch (273) operable to trigger an electronic control unit (268) to activate the electric motor (228) that drives the pump (227) to deliver liquid to the septic system (212).
Abstract: A waste material separating method and apparatus a number of sequential processes the separate paper, plastic, glass, wood, and metals from waste materials. Bulk materials are manually removed from conveyors. Screening machines separate fine from course materials. Fine organic materials are transported to a composting area or to a digester to generate gas used fuel to produce thermal energy. A shredder cuts the course materials which mixed and pressed into pellets.
Abstract: A stackable container for storing and dispensing a liquid has upright walls, a top wall and a bottom wall providing a chamber for storing a liquid. Adjacent upright walls are joined to corners. One corner has a bottom portion located above the plane of the bottom wall providing a space below the one corner. The top wall has a fill opening at the top of the one corner. An ON-OFF valve attached to a lower portion of the upright wall of the container is used to drain liquid from the container.
Abstract: A spoon-shaped measuring device for measuring out different amounts of ingredients has a swinging gate having a divider which extends into the measuring compartment of the measuring device. The gate has a pair of inwardly directed protrusions accommodated by radial spaced grooves in a rib located on the side wall of the handle and measuring compartment to releasably hold the measuring position of the divider and set the volume of the measuring compartment as desired. A pivot releasably connects the gate to the handle of the device to facilitate cleaning.
Abstract: A facultative lagoon, an airlift aerator for such a lagoon, and a method of operating such a lagoon. The aerator includes a U-shaped body with a down flow leg and an airlift leg and a float. The float sustains the U-shaped body with respect to the surface of polluted material contained in the lagoon. The upper ends of the legs are submerged slightly beneath the surface of the material in the lagoon. The down flow leg has a water inlet and the airlift leg has the water outlet. A bubble generator is connected to a lower portion of the airlift leg. Air supplied under pressure to the bubble generator introduces bubbles into the airlift leg which establishes a water circulation through the U-shaped body. Bubbles transfer oxygen to the passing water which is disbursed through the water outlet. The dissolved oxygen is used in the biodegradation of the hazardous and odorous gases of the waste material that would otherwise be emitted into the atmosphere.
Abstract: A snowmobile trailer with an open, flat trailer bed and hold down assemblies to accommodate one or two snowmobiles. The hold down assemblies include hold down brackets fixed to the trailer bed and laterally aligned across it. The brackets are spaced back from the front edge of the trailer bed a sufficient distance so that the struts holding the snowmobile runners are located between the brackets with the bottoms of the snowmobile skis in full contact with the trailer bed. Hold down rods extend between the hold down brackets and cooperate in pairs to straddle the snowmobile struts to restrain the snowmobiles from movement on the trailer.
Abstract: A sieve box for a particulate sifter has a pan, a screen, and a number of screen and pan clearing devices. Each device has a first member with fingers engageable with the pan to remove particulates that accumulate on the pan and a second member with fingers adapted to engage the screen to clean the screen or particulates. The first and second members have cooperating structures that movably connect the structures to allow free combined lateral movement in the sieve box and independent relative rotational, vertical and wobble movements.
Abstract: A carrier tape has a plurality of pockets longitudinally spaced with transverse bridges for accommodating microchips. The tape has a bottom wall having upright corner supports and platforms that engage and retain the microchip with a pocket and space leads connected to the microchip from the side walls, end walls and bottom wall of the tape. A cover tape is releasably attached to side flanges and bridges of the carrier tape to close the top of the pockets and retain the positions of the microchips in the pockets. A hole in the bottom wall of the tape allows optical readings to verify the position of the microchip.
Abstract: An indicator providing visual information of the level of bulk material in a bin has rotatable visual members with bright and dark colored surfaces covered with a transparent lens. A actuator located within the bin is operatively coupled to the visual members to turn the visual member to an ON position exposing the bright colored surface to a person when bulk material engages the actuator and to an OFF position exposing the dark colored surface to a person when the actuator is free of bulk material whereby the person can determine the level of the bulk material in the bin. The visual members are also provided with a device that triggers a sensor that activates a remote indicator providing data as to the level of bulk material in the bin.
