  • Patent number: 6954078
Abstract: Transparent tablet for evaluation of motor responses furnishes the coordinates of the contact points of at least one conductive probe tip on tablet. The tablet is overlaid on its outer face by a resistive transparent film, such as tin dioxide. By the provision of a current-generating device in first and in second directions, voltage gradients are set up along the resistive transparent film in the first and second directions. The voltages picked up by the conductive probe tip at the point of contact are proportional to the distance of the point to the edges of the tablet along each of the directions. The numerical values of the point coordinates are furnished by the conversion to digital form, by an A/D converter, of the voltage.

  • Patent number: 6920379
Abstract: In a vehicle-onboard dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) apparatus for the DSRC communication system, a command judgment unit of an electronic toll communication-security application module (ETC-SAM) judges the type of command included in a communication signal transmitted between a HOST and an IC card with user information held therein. A command control unit of the ETC-SAM controls whether the command is to be analyzed, according to a result of judgment by the command judgment unit. Therefore, it is possible to simplify a communication procedure and reduce a communication time.

  • Patent number: 6651225
Abstract: In a verification system, a dynamic logic evaluation system and method dynamically calculates the minimum evaluation time for each input. Thus, this system and method will remove the performance burden that a fixed and statically calculated evaluation time would introduce. By dynamically calculating different evaluation times based on the input, 99% of the inputs will not be delayed for the sake of 1% of the inputs that actually need the worst possible evaluation time. The dynamic logic evaluation system and method comprises a global control unit coupled to a propagation detector, where the propagation detector is placed in each FPGA chip. The propagation detector in the FPGA chip alerts the global control unit of any input data that is currently propagating within the FPGA chips. A master clock controls the operation of this dynamic evaluation system and method. As long as any input data is propagating, the global control unit will prevent the next input from being provided to the FPGA chips for evaluation.

  • Patent number: 6564677
Abstract: A wave gear drive (1) includes an annular rigid internal gear (2), an annular flexible external gear (3) arranged inside of the annular rigid internal gear (2), and a wave generator (4) fitted inside of the annular flexible external gear. The wave generator (4) includes a rigid cam plate (41) having a predetermined outline, and a hub (43) inserted into a fitting hole (42) formed in the center of the rigid cam plate (41). A transfer-torque control mechanism for limiting the torque transferred through the wave generator (4) to the flexible external gear (3) is defined by a nut (46) that fastens the rigid cam plate (41) and the hub (42). When the torque equal to or greater than a predetermined value is transferred, a slip is generated in a rotational direction between the rigid cam plate (41) and the hub (42), thus limiting the transfer torque to a predetermined limit value. As a result, the torque limiter is not required.

  • Patent number: 6524305
Abstract: An osmotic delivery system flow modulator assembly, an osmotic delivery system with a flow modulator assembly, and a method of assembling an osmotic delivery system. The osmotic delivery system flow modular assembly includes a body having a hole located through the body and communicating two opposing ends of the body. The use of the osmotic delivery system flow modulator assembly lessens the chance that air or gas pockets will form in the enclosure of the osmotic delivery system during assembly of the system. Because less air is within the osmotic delivery system, performance of the system is enhanced. Use of the flow modulator assembly also lessens the chance that beneficial agent will be wasted during assembly of the osmotic delivery system.

  • Patent number: 6442580
Abstract: The resampler circuit according to the present invention is arranged such that the number of multiplication, that is, the number of multiplying means is reduced by storing the coefficients in each of the time intervals between the time point at which the time interval T has elapsed and a predetermined time point in a plurality of ROMs, taking advantage of the symmetrical characteristic of the waveform 1 indicated by the SINC function in the direction in which the number of T increments and that in which the number of −T increments, except the time intervals from the reference time 0, namely [0, T] and [0, −T]. In addition, the ROM size is also reduced by storing in each ROM the coefficients for only a half of each of the time intervals on the basis of the above symmetrical characteristic.

  • Patent number: 6425692
Abstract: An optical connector that provides a housing body 21 and a fixed part 22 that are installed so as to hold a backplane 3, and connects an optical connector plug 4b inserted into said housing body 21 via an installation hole in backplane 3 and another optical connector plug 4a inserted into said housing body 21 from the direction opposite to that of fixed part 22 engage said housing body 21 via said installation hole 30 in said backplane 3, and thereby said backplane 3 is held between said housing body 21 and said fixed part 22. Simply by adjusting the floating range (amount of floating) of the flexible claws 25 within said installation hole 30 the floating range (amount of floating) of the housing body 21 can be reliably set. Thereby, when the housing body 21 engages the printed board housing, the dimensional error is offset reliably by the floating of the housing body 21, and the engagement is carried out smoothly.
