Abstract: A paper packaging container is formed from the packaging material comprising constitution layers of at least an outside thermoplastic material layer, a paper substrate layer, and an inside thermoplastic material layer, wherein the inside thermoplastic material layer contains at least a linear low density polyethylene, and has properties parameters of an average density of 0.900–0.930, a predetermined peak melting point, a melt flow index of 5–15, and a swelling ratio of 1.3–1.8. The use of the packaging material allows easy filling and packaging to the packaging container and quick heat sealing, and results in more toughly and strongly sealed container, and the material can be used for achieved good sealing independently of the temperature of food contents and thus maintaining the non-scalping and quality preservability of the content product.

Abstract: An ultrasonic imaging apparatus combined with an x-ray imaging apparatus and/or an additional ultrasonic imaging apparatus performs ultrasonic sonography and/or x-ray imaging or multiple ultrasonic sonography to produce imagery that are spatially correlated. A holding means holds an object to be imaged in compression in an examination area. The x-ray source and the ultrasonic source are each relocatable from an inactive imaging position to an inactive non-imaging position. The x-ray image and ultrasonic sonography image are both taken in transmission and the resulting images contain a registry object to assist a user in spatially correlating the images. The speckle contained in the sonography image is reduced allowing for higher resolution of abnormalities in the tissue and improved concurrent biopsy procedures.

Abstract: A negative type planographic printing plate in which recording can be performed directly from digital data of a computer or the like using an infrared laser. Sensitivity of the plate is high, ablation by a recording layer during recording is suppressed, a developing property is good, occurrence of a film residue does not occur, and image forming properties such as halftone dot reproducibility are excellent. The negative type planographic printing plate has on a supporting body, in the following order, a first layer that contains a polymer insoluble in water and soluble in an alkaline aqueous solution, and a second layer that contains a cross-linking or polymeric compound, which forms a covalent bond by action of light or heat and lowers solubility of the second layer in an alkaline developing liquid.
Abstract: A semiconductor laser light source device and light source unit according to the present invention include a first plate-like member made of metal, to which a semiconductor laser array is joined along the end portion, a second plate-like member made of metal, in which an inlet opening portion, which introduces cooling fluid, and a cooling fluid draining channel, and a third plate-like member made of metal, which is formed along the area corresponding to the end portion and to which at least one cooling channel is provided through which cooling fluid flows in the longitudinal direction of the semiconductor laser array by communicating the cooling fluid introducing channel and the cooling fluid draining channel. Thus, the sectional area of the channel can be larger than that in the construction of the related art and the processing cost is reduced by comparison with the construction of the related art.
Abstract: An FFT correlation tracker that is capable of effectively tracking targets against non-uniform backgrounds in realtime, includes a background correction implemented using a FFT with the 2-dimension sinc function. The tracker tracks an object by effectively computing the first and third terms of the mean-square-error function C(s,t) defined as C ? ( s , t ) = 1 N ? ? N ? ? f 2 ? ( x , y ) + 1 N ? ? N ? ? g 2 ? ( x - s , y - t ) - 2 · 1 N ? ? N ? ? [ f ? ( x , y ) · g ? ( x - s , y - t ) ] This is done by first transforming the first and third terms into the frequency domain, where the first term, the background correction term, can be computed much more efficiently in real-time by using the 2-dimension sinc function. Multiplications and additions necessary to carry out the computations in the frequency domain are then performed.
Abstract: A frozen French fried potato product possessing unique taste characteristics is manufactured by producing potato pieces having a desired shape, frying the potato pieces, freezing the potato pieces, and applying a topical addition to the frozen potato pieces. The topical addition is preferably an encapsulated topical addition in which a water soluble ingredient other than salt is encapsulated in an encapsulation material. To impart sweet taste characteristics to the frozen French fried potato product, the topical addition is an encapsulated sugar. The resulting frozen French fried potato product is constituted by potato pieces that have been fried and frozen, with the topical addition such as encapsulated sugar applied to the outer surface of the frozen French fried potato pieces.

Abstract: A hydraulic brake apparatus is provided with a master cylinder, an assisting device for assisting the master piston to be advanced in response to operation of a brake pedal, and an auxiliary piston having a large diameter portion and a small diameter portion to define first and second pressure transmitting chambers, with the large diameter portion connected to the assisting device. A first valve member is provided for controlling the communication between the first and second pressure transmitting chambers, and a second valve member is provided for controlling a flow of the brake fluid from the first chamber to the second chamber. A valve opening mechanism is provided for opening the first valve member, and mechanically connecting the second valve member with the first valve member, to open the second valve member when the auxiliary piston is retracted from its advanced state to its initial position.

Abstract: A new and distinct variety of shrub rose plant is provided which abundantly forms on a continuous basis double rich red blossoms blended with pink that fade to deep pink at full maturity. The blossoms also display a slight sweet rose fragrance. The plant exhibits a compact and bushy growth habit, satiny medium green foliage that initially bears a tint of red-purple, and good tolerance to Black Spot and Powdery Mildew. The attractive medium green foliage contrasts nicely with the blossom coloration. The new variety is particularly well suited for growing as attractive ornamentation in parks and gardens.
Abstract: Provided is a novel high octane summer gasoline composition which is substantially free of oxygenates, and is in compliance with the California Predictive Model. The gasoline composition is suitable for use in the summer, i.e., having a Reid vapor pressure of 7.0 or less. The method for blending the gasoline comprises blending streams from a refinery in a controlled manner to maintain compliance with the California Predictive Model.
Abstract: A new and distinct Ilex×meservae plant is provided that originated as a spontaneous mutation of unknown causation of the ‘Blue Prince’ variety (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 3,517). The foliage is dark green during the summer and unlike the ‘Blue Prince’ variety changes to an attractive Bordeaux coloration during the winter. The growth habit is dense, compact, vigorous and well-branched and commonly yields a smaller plant than the ‘Blue Prince’ variety. Good winter hardiness is displayed, and the plant is well suited for general landscape usage.
