  • Patent number: 7984934
Abstract: Copper purge fittings for brazing components of a special gas delivery line together are provided. An orifice is located on the top or end portion of each fitting to create a continuous flow of inert purging gas through the delivery line under construction while brazing. Each fitting will reach temperatures exceeding 1500 degrees. By having a continuous flow of inert gas while brazing, the protection of the interior portion of the system remains intact. Without a purge in place, the intense heat would create a rapid immediate buildup of carbon and other contaminates. Brazing is only commenced after the elimination of harmful oxygen and proper flow of purging gas is measured. The purging gas pressure is lowered if it becomes high enough to potentially cause separation of tubular sections from the purge fittings and is raised if a low flow rate is detected indicating potential insufficient flow of purging gas.

  • Patent number: 7981136
Abstract: The present development includes an elongated flexible base strip having its bottom surface coated with an adhesive material suitable for adherence to skin and constructed with bridging links spaced along the inner edge of the base strip and extending outwardly therefrom. The inner edge of the base strip is intended to be aligned adjacent to a lip of the wound being treated. Each of the bridging links has an adhesive coated section displaced from the inner edge. In the packaged or stored position, prior to engagement, the bridging links are folded over the upper surface of the adhesive strip about a hinge that is at the joint of the bridging link to the base strip.

  • Patent number: 7972609
Abstract: Present invention relates to the method of treating cancer. According to present invention, a pharmaceutical composition made from ‘Mycobacterium w’ (Mw) is found to be useful in the management of cancer. We have now found that the same therapeutic agent is useful in management of cancer. The use of Mycobacterium w containing formulations is associated with decrease in burden of cancer tissue, decreasing symptoms associated with cancer and improving quality of life. It also improves tolerance to other therapies.

  • Patent number: 7971106
Abstract: A network appliance for monitoring, diagnosing and documenting problems among a plurality of devices and processes (objects) coupled to a computer network utilizes periodic polling and collection of object-generated trap data to monitor the status of objects on the computer network. The status of a multitude of objects is maintained in memory utilizing virtual state machines which contain a small amount of persistent data but which are modeled after one of a plurality of finite state machines. The memory further maintains dependency data related to each object which identifies parent/child relationships with other objects at the same or different layers of the OSI network protocol model. A decision engine verifies through on-demand polling that a device is down. A root cause analysis module utilizes status and dependency data to locate the highest object in the parent/child relationship tree that is affected to determine the root cause of a problem.

  • Patent number: 7965733
Abstract: Methods and systems to perform collision detection (CD) in a communication network are disclosed. Methods and systems over multipacket reception (MPR)-capable physical layers are also disclosed. In one embodiment, the method for transmitting information in a network includes the steps of initiating transmission over a communication channel, monitoring a feedback channel, modifying transmission parameters for the transmission over the communication channel (where modifying includes stopping transmission and adjusting transmission parameters), if a feedback transmission is detected while monitoring the feedback channel, a duration of the feedback transmission being smaller than duration of the transmission over the communication channel, and determining whether transmission was successful, if transmission continues after modifying transmission parameters. Other embodiments of methods for transmitting and receiving information, as well as systems that implement the methods, are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7963569
Abstract: A novel locking pipe joint for use in fluid-carrying pipe systems is described. The locking pipe joint of the present invention provides a system of joints that will withstand the stresses and forces imposed on a pipe system carrying fluids. The joint is constructed on a push-fit principle. Sealing rings are used to make the joint leak-proof. Splines are provided to sustain the longitudinal forces imposed on the joint, and longitudinal ribs are provided on the outer surface of the joined pipes to withstand the torsional loads. The joint is simple in its construction, easy to assemble in field and cost effective.

  • Patent number: 7960688
Abstract: Disclosed are photoluminescent markings that contain a photoluminescent layer and one or more functional overlayers wherein the photoluminescent marking has an emission signature that lies partly or fully in the infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. One functional overlayer conceals the photoluminescent layer and blends into the background or blends with marks that are normally present, without significantly reducing the luminescent intensity of the photoluminescent layer. Another functional overlayer provides photolytic stability to the underlying photoluminescent layer. Also disclosed are functional overlayers that enhance the daytime observability of the infrared emissions. A further functional overlayer prevents the observability of a printed message with the naked eye. A combination of functional overlayers each providing a different function is also included.
