  • Patent number: 4570978
Abstract: A rotary coupling for the introduction of liquid and/or gaseous media into the drum of a continuous flow washing machine movable in the housing possessing a number of annular chambers (64, 66, 68, 69, 71) arranged coaxially to one another and separated from one another, which are formed between two separating disks (55, 63, 65, 67, 70, 72). In the middle region of each annular chamber, at least one pipe connection (91, 84) is introduced which is led out from the device in the axial direction outward, penetrating the adjacent annular chambers in a liquid and/or gas tight manner. In addition, radially outward running pipe connections (97) enter the annular chambers, and moreover, each annular chamber is contructed by housing elements of the first and second kind (51, 55 . . . ) rotatable against each other, of which each of the first kind and of the second kind at any given time is arranged to revolve around each other.

  • Patent number: 4540171
Abstract: An apparatus for muscular exercise where the user conducts a repetitive motion under load. The apparatus is coupled to the user to exercise the desired muscle group. When muscle is undergoing a shortening motion it is subjected to a load. At the completion of the shortening motion the load is automatically increased for the muscle-lengthening step. At the completion of the muscle-lengthening portion of the exercise the added load is automatically removed for the next muscle contraction step.

  • Patent number: 4537926
Abstract: Described is an aqueous chip resistant coating composition exhibiting a viscosity of at least 5,000 centipoise, preferably containing binders with a high molecular weight, preferably at least 20,000. Although these coatings may be applied to a variety of substrates, for coating electrocoated substrates the following eight binders are particularly preferred: ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, carboxylated ethylene vinyl acetate, epoxy functional acrylic resin, carboxylated styrene-butadiene resin, carboxylated acrylic, hydroxy functional acrylic, self-crosslinking acrylic; and carboxylated PVC acrylic. Generally, it is preferred to apply the chip resistant coating via an airless spray and the heat curing the coating.

  • Patent number: 4523937
Abstract: An air cleaner for miniature internal combustion engines to be used on model boats, airplanes, and the like, which is comprised of a tubular elastic boot and a removable filter unit. One end of the tubular elastic boot is stretched over and sealingly attached to the air inlet of the engine. Into the other end of the elastic boot member is inserted the filter unit so that all the air entering the engine must pass through the filter. The filter unit is comprised of a porous open cell foam medium which is supported on a peripheral flange to sealingly engage the elastic boot member.

  • Patent number: 4513991
Abstract: Each projection, in a field of projections, on the surface of an article, may be selectively removed to form an indicium or indicia in the field. The projections may have a cover of one color and a core of another, so that by selective removal of the each projection, the indicium appears in a field of different color. The projections may be made from a variety of materials including molded rubber, metal plated plastic, textiles. The core of each projection may include more than one stratum, with each stratum having the potential to be a different color. Thus multi-colored indicia may be formed.

  • Patent number: 4506482
Abstract: A prefabricated panel and method for making same for use in the construction of a wall structure for a building. Each panel section is comprised of a rigid support structure for attachment to the building framework. A plurality of facia sheets, such as tiles, overlie the exterior surface of the support structure and are resiliently bonded thereto with a means which provides limited relative movement between the facia sheets and the supporting structure. A means for sealing the joints between adjacent edges of facia sheets on a single panel section is provided, and once the panels are installed on a building framework, means for sealing the joints between adjacent panels is also provided in order to form a contiguous weathertight wall surface.

  • Patent number: 4470662
Abstract: A rotary optic switch for alternatively coupling a single light path to any one of a plurality of other light paths upon the relative rotation of a light deflecting means. A first deflecting means deflects light from a first radial path to an axial path. A rotatable second light deflecting means deflects light from the axial path parallel to the axis of rotation of the second light deflecting means to a second radial path which moves responsive to the rotation of the second deflecting means. Light is supplied to the first radial light path by a first optic element. A plurality of second optic elements are located circumaxially around the axis of rotation of the second light deflecting means and can be alternatively optically coupled to the first optic element by rotation of the second light deflecting means aligning the second radial light path with each of the second optic elements.
