  • Patent number: 4085989
Abstract: A connector block and terminal assembly adapted for connecting hook-up wires of a cord set to the internal wiring of an appliance, such as clothes washer or dryer, includes an insulator block having terminal receiving cavities for insertion of terminals connected to the internal wiring, the cavities opening outwardly of the block at access apertures where screw threaded fasteners connected to the terminals may be removed to permit connection of the hook-up wires and then the screws reapplied and tightened to effect an electrical connection between the wires and terminals. A nut associated with each terminal is retained in substantial registry with a screw receiving aperture in the terminal, while the screw is removed for connection of the hook-up wires, by tang means on the terminal. Locking tang means on the block cooperate with the terminals to retain them in the block. The connector block is configured for slidable mounting on the appliance and a locking tang prevents unintentional removal.

  • Patent number: 4075272
Abstract: A method of mounting steps on the inner wall surface of a manhole section comprising implanting the steps in the section while the same is still green and following removal of the inner form but before removal of the outer form, positioning each step in confronting relation with the manhole section and thereupon smoothly and uniformly, without vibration and hammering, pushing the step into the concrete and compacting the concrete around the implanted step. The apparatus may be portable and shifted into the manhole section through an end thereof after the inner form has been removed but prior to removal of the outer form, and positioned against the base ring at opposite inside diameters thereof and engaging the outer form at the top of the manhole section and while thus engaged urging the step into the manhole section as aforesaid. Alternatively the apparatus may be stationary and the manhole section temporarily moved thereto and supported thereon during step implanting.

  • Patent number: 4026231
Abstract: Relates to attachments to a motor boat for reducing the speed of the boat below the idling speed sufficient to permit trolling for fish. The speed controlling device includes a plate member mounted for movement from a vertical position immediately aft of the propeller and across the path of the propeller wash, thereby to slow the speed of the boat, to a second position away from the propeller and out of the path of the propeller wash. Hydraulic mechanism including a piston-cylinder combination unit is connected to a fixed support, such as the propulsion unit of the boat, and to the plate member for moving the latter between the aforesaid two positions of movement. Ports are provided in the cylinder for admitting fluid under pressure to either side of the piston to impart movement of the piston in either direction in the cylinder and to impart corresponding movement to the plate member.
