  • Patent number: 4015959
Abstract: Apparatus for removing moisture such as oil and water vapor from compressed gases such as air with less decrease in pressure by conventional filter means by providing a relatively coarse annular filter to condense the major portion of such moisture by gases passing downward therethrough to afford drainage of condensate by gravity before the gases pass upward through coaxial interior desiccant filter means to remove any residual moisture before the moisture free gases are discharged from the upper end of the desiccant filter means. The coarse filter is contained between transparent outer and inner containers and the desiccant filter means is contained within the transparent inner container so as to extend upwardly above the upper end of the coarse filter such that the condition of both the coarse filter and desiccant filter means is visually observable.

  • Patent number: 4004404
Abstract: A combine of the axial flow type having an axially extending power driven rotor which coacts with a concave complementary in shape to that of the rotor to thresh a wide variety of agricultural crop material. The concave comprises a plurality of longitudinal bars that are spaced transversely and a first row of curved wires extend through said bars adjacent the upper edges thereof and are spaced even distances in a longitudinal direction to form passages for threshed crop material. A second row of wires extend through a row of holes in said bars below said first row of wires. The second row of wires is spaced more closely than the wires of the first row to form pockets which receive said threshed crop material and remove the same from contact by said rotor to prevent damage to the threshed material and also provide more aggressive threshing of the material.

  • Patent number: 3994304
Abstract: A rotary combine having axially extending threshing rotor and coacting concave positioned to receive crop material to be threshed from auger means on the forward end of the rotor, and an elevator which extends upward and rearward from a header to the auger means delivers the crop material to an upwardly and rearwardly extending feed plate which guides the crop material upwardly in an undershot manner to said auger means. Several embodiments of a grain trapping and back-flow retarding plate are associated adjustably with said feed plate to permit discharge of threshed crop material and prevent tendencies for the material being fed upward along the feed plate to slide back down the same toward the elevator.

  • Patent number: 3990215
Abstract: A machine to apply strips or webs of heat-sealable and/or heat shrinkable material around coiled rolls of sheet material to either band or wrap such rolls, or shrink such bands or wrapping web into close contiguous engagement with said rolls to prevent uncoiling of the same. The machine includes means to relax the tension on the strips or webs when the same are about to be heat sealed to encircle coiled rolls by means of anvil and heater bars which cooperate to engage said strips or web when encircling the rolls and heat-seal the same and simultaneously sever the encircling portions from the supply and also re-connect the severed portions by fusion to position the same across the path of the rolls through the machine for engagement by the rolls. Pusher means also push the coiled rolls into engagement with re-connected strips or web by means of guide mechanism for the pusher means which moves it horizontally.

  • Patent number: RE29140
Abstract: A machine to form compact rolls of hay of substantial size by picking up a swath or windrow of hay and the like from a field, engage it by cooperating upper and lower endless flexible aprons driven in suitable directions to coil the hay into a compact roll while supported upon floor means mounted stationarily in the bottom of the machine to effect baling of all the hay without loss upon the ground. When the roll type bale of hay reaches a predetermined diameter, the upper apron raises and driving movement of the same stops while the bale is discharged by movement of the lower apron rearwardly in the machine, or the machine can retain and transport the bale to a desired location, if desired. The lower course of the upper apron is initially supported in a desired configuration relative to the lower apron by guide means which include movable auxiliary means arranged to be disengaged by said upper apron when the bale reaches a predetermined diameter.
