  • Patent number: 4344756
Abstract: A water recycling unit and system for dental operatories for use to supply operating priming water to liquid seal type vacuum pumps and including a conduit connectable to a municipal water supply, a solenoid valve in said conduit operated by a timer to open the valve for very short intervals periodically to furnish fresh makeup water to an air-water separator mounted above the level of the pumps and provided with a discharge to drain that is regulated to maintain a constant supply of contaminated water withdrawn from a patient's mouth and a small amount of the makeup water to comprise priming water delivered to the vacuum pump by gravity flow. The only moving element in the basic system is the solenoid valve and it only passes fresh municipal water free of impurities to insure complete closing of the valve and thereby obviate possible partial opening due to impurities lodged between the valve and its seat.

  • Patent number: 4328815
Abstract: An axial flow combine having a forward elevating conveyor leading to the feeder house in which beating rotors coact with stationary concave grates and also includes augers on the forward ends of the rotors to insure positive feed of crop material from the elevating conveyor to the rotors. The invention includes feed divider vanes extending in the direction of feed of the crop material from the elevating conveyor to the rotors and are fixedly positioned upon a ramp extending beneath the augers to divide the oncoming material fed to each auger into two streams to minimize the tendency for the material, such as tough long straw experienced in rice, to be formed into spiral rope-like configurations incident to being transformed from linear feed direction by the elevating conveyor to lateral spiral motion, caused by the augers, for delivery between the rotors and grates for threshing the material.

  • Patent number: 4327544
Abstract: A combine having a header on the forward end of it which operates to cut and deliver crop material to an elevator in a feeder house over which a cab is provided at an elevated location. The elevator delivers the material to the threshing mechanism of the combine. The engine of the combine is connected by a belt drive to a vari-drive supported by the feeder house and a yoke on the vari-drive moves one flange of the adjustable sheave of the vari-drive relative to the other. An auxiliary motor actuates the yoke by driving a rotatable screw and a Bowden cable is connected between a pivoted speed-indicating needle on a dial mounted in view of the cab and the follower of the yoke which is actuated by the screw which is operated to move the yoke to change the adjustable sheave and vary the speed of operation of the combine.

  • Patent number: 4316298
Abstract: A mattress assembly and system adapted for specialized use where bending is required and comprising a top pad formed of two layers of relatively soft foamed plastic between which a load-distributing mesh sheet is bonded to also secure said layers together, in combination with a bottom pad of much firmer foamed plastic coextensive with and underlying the top pad and capable of preventing the assembly and system of pads from bottoming-out. The bottom pad also is connected to the top pad in a manner to prevent relative longitudinal movement therebetween, especially when the assembly and system are bent at localized locations incident to the mattress support on a bed being similarly bent such as in hospital use and in domestic convertible sofas.
