Abstract: A deadbolt lock includes a deadbolt, a user rotatable actuator, and a lock interface. The user rotatable actuator is operatively connected with the deadbolt for movement of the deadbolt between locked and unlocked conditions when the actuator is changed from an inoperable condition to an operable condition. The lock interface is configured to change the actuator from the inoperable condition to the operable condition in response to proper user manipulation of the lock interface.

Abstract: Methods for rating the severity of psoriasis in a patient are provided. Such methods comprise assessing the percent of the patient's body surface exhibiting signs of psoriasis, assessing the overall elevation, erythema, and scale of the patient's psoriasis plaques, and classifying the severity of the patient's psoriasis into at least four classes based upon the percent of the patient's body surface exhibiting signs of psoriasis adjusted by the overall elevation, erythema and scale of the patient's psoriasis plaques. In the present methods the weight given to one or more of the overall qualities of elevation, erythema or scale of the patient's psoriasis plaques in classifying the severity of the patient's psoriasis into a higher class is greater than the weight given to other of the overall qualities. A computer readable medium and system for practicing the present methods are also provided.
Abstract: A method of producing a composite part formed of a thermoplastic matrix reinforced with long glass fibers is provided. The method includes supplying a thermoplastic resin and high density glass granules to an injection or injection-compression device containing a single screw. The high density glass granules include long chopped strands formed of glass filaments sized with a sizing composition. The chopped glass strands may have a length from 6 to 30 mm. In addition, the glass granules may have a glass density between 90 and 99.5% and may have a length to diameter ratio (L/D) ratio of less than L, which is expressed in mm. A composite part obtained using the disclosed method is also provided.
Abstract: A device and method is disclosed for improving the detection of a ligand by a receptor by concentrating microbes by removing particulates from fluid-borne samples and/or causing selective aggregation of concentrated microbes. The device may be configured as a multipath valve capable purifying/concentrating a sample in one orientation and delivering the concentrated sample in another orientation. In one embodiment, the device includes a body that defines a plurality of chambers and pathways and supports a pathogen capture unit that houses a receptor that exhibits specificity for a ligand. In another embodiment, the capture unit houses a plurality of antibody coated generally spherical particles capable of binding to a ligand.

Abstract: A drawer storage container having a plurality of lockable drawers includes a movable lock bar with a drawer catch associated with each of the lockable drawers. The lock bar is moved between an unlocked position and a locked position with an actuator that is coupled to a locking mechanism, such as for example, a key cylinder. Each drawer includes a striker mechanism that is configured to be held by the drawer catch when the lock bar is in the locked position. The actuator includes a release that allows the lock bar to be moved by the striker from the locked to the unlocked position when the striker impacts a camming surface on the catch.
Abstract: Disclosed is a racking tool for use with a breaker having a frontwardly-projecting racking screw, the screw being rotatable, about a frontwardly-orientated screw axis, between connected and disconnected positions. The racking tool comprises: a gripping tool that, in use, engages said screw and is rotatable about the screw axis to drive the screw between the connected and disconnected positions; an angle drive mechanism coupled to the gripping tool: and a shaft having a first end operatively coupled to the drive mechanism, a second end and a shaft axis extending from the first to the second end, the shaft, in use, being angularly orientated to the screw axis and adapted such that, with the gripping tool engaged with said racking screw, the screw can be rotated between the connected and disconnected positions by a user standing to one side of the breaker and rotating the shaft about its axis.
