Abstract: An image signal processing apparatus includes a clamp circuit that clamps an image signal having a horizontal synchronization signal, an optical black level period representing an optical black level, and an effective signal period representing an image signal for one horizontal line so as to clamp a value offset from the image signal on the basis of a first reference value during the optical black level period and to clamp the image signal on the basis of a second reference value different from the first reference value during the effective signal period, and a level computation circuit that determines the second reference value on the basis of a signal level clamped during the optical black level period.
Abstract: A backlight assembly and a liquid crystal display having the same are provided. The backlight assembly includes a light source unit including a circuit board and a light emitting diode mounted on the circuit board, a chassis on which the light source is disposed, and a first fastening unit for fastening the light source to the chassis. The first fastening unit includes a first fastening hole formed in the circuit board, and a protrusion formed on the chassis. The protrusion is inserted into the first fastening hole to be fastened thereto.
Abstract: An array substrate includes a lower substrate, a switching element and a pixel electrode. In the lower substrate, unit pixel areas are each divided into a plurality of domains. The switching element is disposed on the lower substrate and transmits a pixel signal. The pixel electrode is disposed on the unit pixel area and is electrically connected to the switching element. The pixel electrode includes a plurality of slit portions disposed thereon. A portion of the slit portions is longitudinally extended in a zigzag shape along different directions in correspondence with the domains.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for providing control signals for a light whose color or color temperature is variable. The invention also relates to a corresponding control apparatus and a corresponding lighting system. In the method, a series of at least three color locations (F1, F2, F3) is determined, which lie on a predetermined color change curve (K1) in a corresponding coordinate system. By way of example, the color change curve may be the Planck curve train or a straight line. The color locations (F1, F2, F3) are in this case chosen such that the respectively corresponding colors have a color distance (d) which, at least approximately, is subjectively perceived as in each case being of the same magnitude. This makes it easier to adjust the light to give a specific desired light impression.
Abstract: Disclosed therein is an apparatus for producing a polycrystalline silicon ingot for a solar cell, which has uniform crystal grains formed by solidifying silicon melted in a crucible using a cooling plate. Abstract: A control circuit of a DC/DC converter is provided for supplying a driving voltage to a light emitting element. A hysteresis comparator compares a detection voltage that corresponds to the output voltage of the DC/DC converter with two threshold voltages. If the detection voltage is smaller than the lower threshold voltage, the hysteresis comparator outputs a comparison signal at the low level. Otherwise, the comparison signal is set to the high level. The switching control unit uses the comparison signal as a reference. The switching control unit instructs the switching transistor of the DC/DC converter to perform the switching operation during a period when the comparison signal is at the low level. Otherwise, the switching operation is suspended. The control circuit inhibits light emission of the light emitting element during a period when the comparison signal is at the low level. Otherwise, the control circuit permits the light emission.
Abstract: Disclosed are a novel 8-hydroxyquinoline acetamide compound, an 8-hydroxyquinoline thioamide and use thereof. More specifically, disclosed are a novel 8-hydroxyquinoline thioamide compound suitable for use as a selective chemodosimeter that shows considerably high detection sensitivity to mercury ions, an 8-hydroxyquinoline acetamide compound as an intermediate thereof, preparation thereof, and a chemodosimeter for mercury ion-selective detection, the chemodosimeter comprising the 8-hydroxyquinoline thioamide compound. The compounds as disclosed herein exhibit considerably effective fluorescence specificity of an off-on type, detect a micromole of mercury ions from chemical and biological aqueous systems, and allow 100% desulfurization within 5 minutes, thus being considerably useful in the chemical industry.

Abstract: A system for class verification includes a data storage device holding verification caches; and a host system in communication with the data storage device, the host system executing a virtual machine (VM), including a class verifier. The VM is configured to perform: initiating loading of a class; searching for the class in the verification caches, wherein a record from the verification caches, including a checksum, is returned upon locating the class; comparing the checksum in the record to a checksum of the class being loaded; completing the loading of the class when the checksums match; performing bytecode verification of the class upon one of: a checksum comparison mismatch, and a failure to locate the class in the verification caches; calculating new checksum of the class upon a successful bytecode verification; and storing the new checksum in the verification caches.
