Abstract: A cover for the bulb of a thermal expansion valve is comprised of two halves of an insulative body that are wrapped around the bulb and associated outlet types in clamshell fashion to encapsulate the combination. Internal and external flaps are hingedly connected along their longitudinal edges to permit access for inspection purposes, and the external flap is secured to the internal flap by Velcro. A tongue structure on the outer surface of the body fits into grooves on the inner surface of the outer flap to seal the cover against the entry of moisture. The two halves are secured in place at their ends by way of bands.
Abstract: This invention is for a catalyst for conversion of alkanes having two to six carbon atoms per molecule to aromatics. The catalyst is a MFI zeolite with a crystallite size of less than 15 microns with, in addition to silicon and aluminum, germanium as a framework element. Platinum is deposited on the zeolite. The zeolite may contain other optional tetravalent and trivalent elements in the zeolite framework. The catalyst is synthesized by preparing a zeolite containing aluminum, silicon, germanium and, optionally, other elements in the framework, calcining the zeolite and depositing platinum on the zeolite. The catalyst may be used for aromatization of alkanes, such as propane, to aromatics, such as benzene, toluene and xylenes.

Abstract: A method for generating a return torque signal in an electric servo steering system of a vehicle, including the steps of: determining a current steering wheel position; determining a current vehicle speed; generating a return torque signal as a function of the steering wheel position and the vehicle speed; determining a current directional relationship between a torque exerted on the steering wheel and a speed of steering wheel rotation; determining a scaling factor dependent on the directional relationship; and multiplying the return torque signal by the scaling factor in order to obtain a modified return torque signal. Also, a servo steering system which is designed to carry out such a method.

Abstract: A core-shell particle is formed by a method that includes forming a crosslinked polyorganosiloxane core, reacting a graftlinking agent with the crosslinked polyorganosiloxane core, and polymerizing a poly(alkenyl aromatic) shell around the graftlinking agent-functionalized polyorganosiloxane core. The method produces a core-shell particle with improved adhesion between shell and core. The core-shell particle is useful as an impact modifier in thermoplastic compositions.
