  • Patent number: 7689547
Abstract: An indexing value may be determined, transparently with respect to a requester, based on a desired plaintext item of data and a cryptographic key. The indexing value may be used to access an entry in an indexing structure to obtain a corresponding database entry which includes a non-deterministically encrypted ciphertext item. In another embodiment, an indexing structure for a database may be accessed. Positions of items of the indexing structure may be based on corresponding plaintext items. References related to the corresponding plaintext items in the indexing structure may be encrypted and other information in the indexing structure may be unencrypted. A portion of the indexing structure may be loaded into a memory and at least one of the encrypted references related to one of the plaintext items may be decrypted. The decrypted reference may be used to access a corresponding non-deterministically encrypted data item from the database.

  • Patent number: 7687051
Abstract: A method and catalysts for producing a hydrogen-rich syngas are disclosed. According to the method a CO-containing gas contacts a water gas shift (WGS) catalyst, in the presence of water, preferably at a temperature of less than about 450° C. to produce a hydrogen-rich syngas. Also disclosed is a water gas shift catalyst formulated from: a) Pt, its oxides or mixtures thereof, b) at least one of Fe and Rh, their oxides and mixtures thereof, and c) at least one member selected from the group consisting of Sc, Y, Ti, Zr, V, Nb, Ta, Mo, Re, Co, Ni, Pd, Ge, Sn, Sb, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, and Eu, their oxides and mixtures thereof. The WGS catalyst may be supported on a carrier, such as any one member or a combination of alumina, zirconia, titania, ceria, magnesia, lanthania, niobia, yttria and iron oxide. Fuel processors containing such water gas shift catalysts are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7677844
Abstract: A power driver may include a motor that rotates upon receiving an input current. A tool chuck may have chuck jaws to hold an accessory. The tool chuck may be coupled to the motor. A power take off mechanism may be connected between the motor and the tool chuck. The power take off mechanism may be adjustable into a CHUCK MODE to one of open and close the chuck jaws while the motor rotates. An electronic clutch may interrupt the input current to the motor if the power take off mechanism is in the CHUCK MODE and if the input current exceeds a trip value.

  • Patent number: 7675527
Abstract: Embodiments consistent with the subject matter of this disclosure may transparently project text fragments from one or more buffers into one or more projection buffers by reference, instead of by copying. Clients or applications, such as, for example, compilers, language services, an editor's rendering system, or other client or application, may transparently process the projected text fragments projected into the projection buffers as if processing simple text files. In some embodiments, text of a first language, embedded in a document having text of one or more other languages, may be projected to a projection buffer and provided to an application, which may process text of the first language. In other embodiments, text may be elided from a document by projecting to a projection buffer only text not to be elided from the document.

  • Patent number: 7666067
Abstract: A device for grinding a cutting tool uses a rotatable grindstone and a tool holder for mounting the cutting tool. The device guides the tool, mounted in the tool holder, along an intended plane, which is tangential to a peripheral surface of the rotatable grindstone, using a practically linear contact between the rotatable grindstone and the cutting tool. By moving the tool holder, with the mounted cutting tool, along the intended plane, this plane is transferred to an unbevelled side of the cutting tool.
