Abstract: A magnifying assembly, the magnifying assembly comprising a housing comprising a frame to which a magnifying lens is secured; and a battery compartment; a cover assembly slidable along the housing; wherein the cover is slidable relative to the housing in a first direction so as to cover at least part of the magnifying lens and slidable relative to the housing in a second direction so as to expose the magnifying lens; and wherein the distance between the battery compartment relative to the magnifying lens remains the same regardless of whether the cover slides relative to the housing in the first direction so as to cover at least part of the magnifying lens or slides relative to the housing in the second direction so as to expose the magnifying lens.

Abstract: A door assembly for use in a shelter, wherein the shelter comprises an outer frame assembly comprising a plurality of intercoupled members forming a coverable structure and a cover for covering the outer frame assembly, wherein the door assembly comprises a door frame comprising a plurality of intercoupled members; and a retractable door arrangement coupled to the door frame, wherein the retractable door arrangement comprises a door comprised of flexible material that can be extended to enclose the shelter or retracted to provide an opening into the shelter; wherein the door assembly does not rigidly connect to the outer frame assembly of the shelter during normal usage thereof. Abstract: An aqueous acidic copper electroplating composition containing an improved additive system for use at elevated temperatures. The improved additive system comprises (a) a suppressor comprising at least one high molecular weight polymer; (b) a brightener comprising at least one divalent sulfur compound; and (c) a leveler comprising a heterocyclic nitrogen compound. The improved electroplating composition is usable for plating through holes in printed circuit boards.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a microetching composition comprising a source of cupric ions, acid, a nitrile compound, and a source of halide ions. Other additive, including organic solvents, a source of molybdenum ions, amines, polyamines, and acrylamides may also be included in the composition of the invention. The present invention is also directed to a method of microetching copper or copper alloy surfaces to increase the adhesion of the copper surface to a polymeric material, comprising the steps of contacting a copper or copper alloy surface with the composition of the invention, and thereafter bonding the polymeric material to the copper or copper alloy surface.

Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a capsule anti-sticking agent which can provide excellent anti-sticking effect on a soft capsule without impairing various properties such as water activity, disintegration property and safety, a coated soft capsule of high quality which is coated with the capsule anti-sticking agent and excels in anti-sticking effect, and an efficient method for manufacturing the coated soft capsule. The present invention includes a capsule anti-sticking agent containing an enzymatically decomposed lecithin, a coated soft capsule wherein a surface is coated with the capsule anti-sticking agent, and a method for manufacturing the coated soft capsule in which a surface of a soft capsule is coated with the capsule anti-sticking agent.

Abstract: According to the present invention, a titanyl phthalocyanin crystal excellent in storage stability in organic solvents, a method for preparing the same and an electrophotographic photoconductor using the same are provided. In the titanyl phthalocyanin crystal, the method for preparing such a titanyl phthalocyanin crystal and the electrophotographic photoconductor using the same, the titanyl phthalocyanin crystal is characterized by having the maximum peak at a Bragg angle 2?±0.2°=27.2° in a CuK? characteristic X-ray diffraction spectrum and one peak within the range of 270 to 400° C. other than a peak accompanied by the vaporization of adsorbed water in a differential scanning calorimetric analysis.

Abstract: An electroless nickel plating bath is provided that utilizes hypophosphite ions as a reducing agent and is substantially free of sulphate and sodium ions. Spent nickel in the plating bath is removed using an ion exchange resin and the remaining effluent solution is usable for manufacturing fertilizer compositions. The nickel is processed for inclusion back into the plating bath. Thus, the process of the invention allows for the indefinite use of the solutions without discharging hazardous waste.
Abstract: To provide a prophylactic/therapeutic agent for neurodegenerative diseases (such as polyglutamine diseases), the agent containing an HMGB family protein or a derivative thereof, such as a protein according any one of (a) and (b) below: (a) a protein having the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2, 4, 6 or 8; and (b) a protein having an amino acid sequence resulting from deletion, substitution, addition or insertion of one or more amino acids in the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2, 4, 6 or 8 and having binding activity to an abnormal polyglutamine protein produced in a neurodegenerative disease.

Abstract: A wearable electronic device for conveying information in an analog manner at least in part by the use of at least one display hand positioned on the dial side of a dial, wherein the wearable electronic device uses the display hand(s) to convey information that is stored in the controller of the device and/or provided by sensors and/or an external transmitter. An actuation mechanism, preferably a stepper motor, is used to rotate the display hands in the clockwise and/or counterclockwise directions in predefined increments to convey the information.
