  • Patent number: 5141296
Abstract: A fluid pressure brake control apparatus for controlling braking-slip and driving-slip of wheels includes fluid pressure control valves, a fluid pressure pump and a valve apparatus arranged between the fluid pressure control valves and the master cylinder, and between the fluid pressure control valves and a fluid pressure source. In a first condition the fluid pressure valving is connected with the master cylinder while being cut off from the fluid pressure source. In a second condition the fluid pressure control valving is connected with the fluid pressure source while being cut off from the master cylinder. In a third condition the fluid pressure control valving is cut off from both the master cylinder and the fluid pressure source. The apparatus assumes the second condition during driving-slip control and supplies to the fluid pressure source the pressurized brake fluid discharged from the fluid pressure pump.

  • Patent number: 5097377
Abstract: This device pertains to video recorders and in particular to a device for replacing a previously removed record enabling safety tab so that subsequent re-recording on a video tape cassette may be made. The one piece device is basically generally C-shaped in configuration with an upper leg engaging an upper surface of the video tape cassette housing and a lower leg which protrudes into the exposed record inhibiting cavity of the video cassette housing. The lower leg is further provided with an upwardly projecting protrusion that projects into a recess provided at the upper side of this exposed safety cavity, and these upper and lower legs are jointed together by a vertical leg. This clamp may be snapped into and out of position on a video cassette housing. The vertical connecting leg further extends downwardly such that it substantially covers over the exposed recording inhibiting cavity to enable recording when the device is snapped into position on the video cassette housing.

  • Patent number: 5083372
Abstract: A self aligning tube alignment bar for aligning and retaining a vertical series of boiler tubes in parallel. The tube alignment bar is comprised of two elongated parallel bar halves having a series of opposed recesses with interengaging protrusions therebetween to initially loosely confine the series of tubes respectively in a separated series. Thereafter the two halves are drawn together by bolts causing the two alignment bar halves to have their protrusions interengage and thereby guide the two halves together in clamping engagement such that ultimately the tubes are retained in a parallel series.

  • Patent number: 5061890
Abstract: A method and apparatus for digitally measuring electrical energy consumption from a transmission line carrying alternating current. Instead of actually measuring current from a transmission line conductor, the time derivative of the magnetic field induced by current flowing in the conductor is measured thereby obtaining a reading which is proportional to the time derivative of the current flow. Using an appropriate microcomputer, the time derivative of the magnetic field (the magnetic field rate of change) is represented with an algorithmic series for expressing cyclic phenomena, such as the Fourier series of low order. An approximation of the power consumption is then computed by converting the time derivative of the current as expressed in the algorithmic series and a voltage measurement from the conductor mathematically to a power reading, and the power reading is summed to obtain a number value proportional to the energy consumption.

  • Patent number: 5033362
Abstract: An air distribution outlet device is provided having an elongated barrel with an inlet at the top end and a closure at the bottom end. A longitudinally extending wall portion of this barrel is formed with a multiplicity of orifices around the entire periphery for a predetermined axial length thereby permitting transverse outflow of air from the barrel. A flow-control deflector valve is disposed in this intermediate perforated portion of the barrel intermediate the extremes of the axial length of the perforations thereof and this valve is selectively adjustable between a position which is substantially blocking air flow therebelow to a position substantially unrestrictive to the flow of air through the entire perforated portion. This deflector valve may be selectively positioned at any position between the extremes thereby permitting control of the air flow in an upward or downward direction as desired as it is being diffused transversely through the perforations in the barrel.
