Abstract: A webpage presentation method for a mobile phone having a limited screen size is provided for efficiently presenting webpages. A webpage presentation of the present invention includes presenting a preset number of webpages including a current and previously visited webpages on a display screen in response to a zoom-out command input during a web browsing session, thereby facilitating search for interested information and improving usability of web browsing function of a handheld device.

Abstract: A method for transmitting data in a communication system using a Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) matrix includes generating an LDPC codeword by encoding information data bits, interleaving the LDPC codeword, mapping the interleaved LDPC codeword to a modulation signal, and generating a mapped signal by mapping the LDPC codeword bits separately to a bit corresponding to a real part and a bit corresponding to an imaginary part of said modulation signal, among bits constituting the modulation signal, generating a modulation signal by high-order-modulating the mapped signal and Radio Frequency (RF)-processing the modulation signal, and transmitting the RF-processed signal via a transmission antenna.

Abstract: A keypad assembly mounted in a portable terminal is disclosed. The keypad assembly has a window keypad including a display window disposed on a front face of the portable terminal. A keypad top is integrally molded with the display window and simultaneously assembled on the front face of the portable terminal, thereby providing an easier assembly than known heretofore, as two parts can be assembled at the same time and additionally provide an elegant exterior front face.

Abstract: A streaming service method and system of the present invention is provided for improving service quality and reliability by transmitting data through an optimal wireless link selected among multiple wireless links available between a server and a client. A streaming service method for a system including a server and at least one client that can establish more than two wireless links with each other includes sending a link selection request message containing a content identifier from the client to the server; selecting, at the server, one of the wireless links for transmitting a content indicated by the content identifier; sending a link selection response message containing a link identifier of the selected wireless link from the server to the client; and receiving, at the client, the content transmitted by the server through the wireless link established with reference to the link identifier.

Abstract: A panoramic picture photographing method permits more accurate photographing of an image, particularly a panoramic image of a subject, without additional equipment, or separate devices and hardware. The method includes projecting an image, which is successively inputted in every predetermined unit of time, to an imaginary surface having a same focal distance in photographing each image constituting a panoramic picture to obtain a projected image; confirming movement of a corresponding photographing apparatus so that the projected image is compared with a previous image in real time by using a motion estimation technique, to which exposure correction has been applied; determining a photographing time point of each image by confirming the confirmed movement of the corresponding photographing apparatus according to a photographing direction has reached a predetermined critical value; and photographing each image at the photographing time point of each image according to a passive input or automatically.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for registering the location of a terminal in a PS domain in a mobile communication network are provided, in which the terminal transmits a request message requesting registration of the location of the terminal to an MME of the mobile communication network, receives from the MME a response message including an eMSC indicator indicating an eMSC connected to the MME from among a plurality of eMSCs, and registers the location of the terminal to the eMSC indicated by the eMSC indicator included in the response message if the eMSC indicator included in the response message is different from an eMSC indicator stored in the terminal.

Abstract: The present invention relates to efficient handover processing for a multi-mode mobile station supporting a licensed wireless system and unlicensed wireless system. A handover processing method using unlicensed mobile access (UMA) includes: checking, upon recognition of necessity of handover, neighbor cell information from a licensed wireless system; determining possibility of handover on the basis of the neighbor cell information; preventing, if handover is not possible, a handover-related operation, and maintaining an existing connection to the licensed wireless system; and performing, if handover is possible, handover to an associated unlicensed wireless system.

Abstract: A mobility header compression method and system for an IPv6-based LoWPAN is provided for supporting IPv6 mobility to the IPv6-based LoWPAN checks a packet carrying data and a first and a second headers containing transmission information about the data to determine whether the second header contains a compressed Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) information. When the second header contains a compressed IPv6 information, ands followed by a mobility header, a mobility support-indicative field of the first header is set to indicate that the second header is followed by the mobility header and the rest of the fields of the second header are compressed except for the mobility header-indicative field. A mobility information-indicative field of the mobility header is set to indicate inclusion of mobility information; and the rest of the fields of the mobility header are compressed except for the mobility information-indicative field.

Abstract: An input processing method of a mobile terminal and a device performing the same are disclosed. Information on a user facility performed by a touch event generated at an area of the mobile terminal is compared with voice sensing data collected through a microphone to perform a specific user facility. As a result, erroneous touch event and imprecision generated during the voice sensing are improved.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for video telephony in a mobile terminal includes: extracting, after establishment of a video call, a facial feature from a video image captured by a camera unit of the mobile terminal, comparing the extracted facial feature with that of a pre-stored reference image, and correcting the video image according to the facial feature of the reference image. The corrected video image is transmitted to a counterpart of the video call.

Abstract: A wireless communication interface for a portable wireless terminal and a system for wirelessly communicating by a portable wireless terminal with another device via a free space. The interface facilitates aligning the portable wireless device with another devices for improved communication. The interface including: a light source for generating a data-modulated visible light signal and outputting the visible light signal to the free space; an optical detector for generating an electrical signal by photoelectrically converting the visible light signal input from the free space, and for outputting the electrical signal. A demodulation unit demodulates the electrical signal input from the optical detector, and outputs a data signal.

Abstract: A method of performing an intra prediction coding with respect to a plurality of blocks included in an image frame is provided. The method of performing an intra prediction coding includes confirming whether a neighboring pixel that is referred to in an intra prediction of a block exists in the current frame, if the neighboring pixel referred to in the intra prediction exists, reading the color difference signal value of the pixel referred to in the intra prediction from the current image frame, if at least one neighboring pixel referred to in the intra prediction does not exist, reading the color difference signal value of at least one pixel from the previous image frame and performing the intra prediction with reference to the read color difference signal value of the pixel.

Abstract: Disclosed is an H.264 decoder equipped with multiple operation units, and a method for decoding compressed image data using same. The decoder comprises a plurality of operation units that successively perform a Variable Length Decoding (VLD) operation, an Inverse Transform & DeQuantization (ITDQ) operation, and an intra PREDiction & inter PREDiction (PRED) operation with respect to a macroblock for which each operation unit is to perform a decoding operation, on receiving information on a macroblock, for which each operation unit is to carry out the decoding operation, with reference to a synchronization information storage unit.

Abstract: Provided are a standby power cut-off device for automatically cutting off standby power according to power-on/off of an electronic product and a control method for the standby power cut-off device. By providing an electronic product to which the standby power cut-off device and the control method therefor are applied, the present invention can efficiently cut off standby power by using an existing general outlet without a need to use an outlet having a separate function added thereto. Moreover, the present invention automatically cuts off the standby power according to power-off of the electronic product without unplugging the electronic product, thereby maximizing user's convenience.

Abstract: A network search method of a user equipment (UE) for a wireless communication system that improves network search speed for acquiring Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) available list available where the user equipment is located. A network search method measures powers of all the frequency bands supported by a UE in response to a network search request, generates a scan list as a result of measurement of the powers, searches networks listed in the scan list for available channels; acquires neighbor cell information from a system information message of one of the available channels. In addition, the method skips the networks indicated by the neighbor cell information in search of networks by removing the networks from the scan list.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for error concealment in decoding of a moving picture. The method includes the steps of determining an erroneous macro block in a present frame when the moving picture is decoded, finding a first macro block having a highest similarity to the erroneous macro block and a second macro block having a next highest similarity to the erroneous block in a previous frame by comparing adjacent pixels of respective blocks in the previous frame with adjacent pixels of the erroneous block in the present frame; and replacing the erroneous block by using an average between the found macro blocks having the highest similarity and the second highest similarity to thereby conceal the erroneous macro block. The apparatus includes a parser, an entropy decoder, an inverse quantizer, an inverse converter, and a concealment unit that uses motion compensation from a previous frame to correct a macro block in a current frame.

Abstract: A communication terminal and method is provided for improving channel utilization efficiency in a wireless sensor network using contention-based channel access mechanism is disclosed. The communication method according to the present invention comprises initializing, when a packet transmission is required, a contention window to a size; resetting, when a channel is assessed to be busy, the size of the contention window in a hybrid expansion mode; and attempting, when the channel is assessed to be idle, the packet transmission through the channel.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for matching compressed video data under a wireless fading environment are disclosed. The apparatus includes an encoder for encoding and outputting the video data as a compressed bit stream, a channel error measurement unit for measuring Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) or Carrier-to-Noise Ratio (CNR) of a wireless channel, and an encoder optimization module for determining if the current fading is slow fading or fast fading. A control signal is output to reduce a frame transmission ratio or to change the quality of the vide data if it is determined that the current fading is slow fading. Another control signal is output to adjust the size of a data output buffer of the wireless channel if it is determined that the current fading is fast fading.

Abstract: A cross-layer optimization method for controlling a bit rate of a video coder/decoder (codec) in video data transmission for wireless devices such as a wireless broadband (WiBro) system terminal that adapts to changing transmission/reception characteristics and usage. The method typically includes checking, by a sender, radio channel state information of a sender side and a receiver side; determining, by the sender, a transmission bit rate of a video codec by using the radio channel state information of the sender side; and adjusting, by the sender, the transmission bit rate of the video codec by using the radio channel state information of the receiver side when a communication network used by a receiver typically based on the type of a communication network being used by the sender.

Abstract: Provided are a terminal and method for distinguishing between email recipients using a specific identifier. According to the inventive terminal and method, when email is desired to be sent to several recipients, it is possible to set an individual transmission configuration for each recipient and transmit the email in different formats depending on the recipients. Thus, a large-sized file is prevented from being unnecessarily created or transferred, thereby reducing unnecessary traffic. In addition, it is possible to prevent the storage space of a mobile device from being wasted due to receiving an unwanted attachment file.
