Abstract: A method for sharing content using a Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) network is disclosed. The method includes the steps of creating a DLNA VPN (Virtual Private Network) between an inside-home DLNA network and at least one outside-home DLNA device, and delivering content from an inside-home DLNA device connected to the inside-home DLNA network to an outside-home DLNA device contained in the DLNA VPN in response to a request for content from the outside-home DLNA device. The method further allows continuous sharing of content, even if IP addresses of devices connected to the DLNA VPN are changed, by managing dynamic IP addresses of the devices connected to the DLNA VPN using an external network management server. Thus, the method allows outside-home DLNA devices to freely share content using a DLNA network. The method also allows various contents to be processed on a mobile terminal regardless of a storage space and processing capability of the mobile terminal.

Abstract: A method for transmitting/receiving data with transfer obligation delegated in a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) reduces the time and power spent by a transmitting apparatus to wait for acknowledgment that a data transfer was successful. The method for transmitting data from a transmitting end to a receiving end through a set transfer route by multiple data transmit/receive apparatuses provided in a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), typically includes the steps of: performing temporary storage of data to be transmitted on receiving a request to transmit data; requesting a data transmit/receive apparatus, existing on a next route, to transmit data while transmitting data to a data transmit/receive apparatus which is set as a transfer route; and confirming the delivery of the data to the data transmit/receive apparatus set as the transfer route, and then deleting the temporarily stored data frame.
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for executing a mouse pointer function in a portable terminal equipped with a camera are disclosed. The method includes: capturing an external image signal by a camera module; sampling the external image signal and converting a sampled image signal into image data; mapping a group of pixels of the image data generated by the sampling to a group of pixels of an image sensor for each unit pixel on a one-to-one basis; detecting coordinate values of image data including a point light source in the group of the mapped pixels; determining if a point light source is actually included in the detected coordinate values of the image data; and displaying the detected coordinate values of the image data determined to include the point light source on a screen.

Abstract: A system and method for evaluating performance of a microphone for long-distance speech recognition, which enables a robot to receive and respond to voices. A robot, which includes a network robot, must correctly recognize speech in order to recognize the user and to perceive its surroundings, objective evaluation criteria are required for choosing a microphone to be used in the robot. The methods include measuring a degree of attenuation of the voice, measuring a degree of distortion of the voice, and simultaneously measuring the degree of attenuation of the voice and the degree of distortion of the voice. A standard for the choice of a microphone, which can be digitalized, for a speech recognition function of a robot, permits choice of a microphone which has good sensitivity and can pick up voices without distortion when used at a large distance.
Abstract: A bridge-based RAS backbone network system and a signal processing method therefor are provided. In the bridge-based RAS backbone network system, a plurality of BSBs with Layer 2 (L2) switches are connected to a plurality of RASs, and a plurality of SCBs with L2 switches are connected to part of the BSBs in a lower layer, forming a core network. An HLR manages configuration information of network entities by storing the IP addresses and MAC addresses of MNs within the network and the addresses of SCBs to which the MNs belong in a table. Each of the SCBs statically preserves the MAC address of an external default router, for relaying an egress frame, statically registers its individual MAC address in other SCBs in the core network beforehand, detects a destination MN through the HLR, and sends a frame to the SCB of the destination MN or the MAC address of the external default router.

Abstract: A system and method for a selective ring silencer that prevents people from having to listen to the telephone ring on and on with nuisance calls. The ringer silencer can be: (1) discretely constructed from a telephone, (2) part of a telecommunication device, or (3) part of a central telephone network construction. A receiver demodulates an incoming call. Control logic reads at least a portion of the called identification (CID) data and determines an action based on the reading. A switch in communication with the control logic is actuated to a first state that allows the communication data to be output from the ring silencer, and a second state that blocks the communication data from being output from the ring silencer to a user's communication device. The control logic blocks toll-free area codes originated calls from ringing a user's telephone, optionally forwarding the call to a voice mail module.
Abstract: A method and system for detecting a suspicious frame in a wireless sensor network that includes: a plurality of sensor nodes, for sending sensed data and data regarding an upper-level node and cluster head node. A data collecting node receives data from the sensor nodes, sends information, and extracts data received from the sensor nodes. A first probability of occurrence of the routing path is computed with respect to training frames, and a second probability of occurrence of a source routing path is computed using the first probability. The second probability is compared with a reference value, and displays an indication notifying an abnormality of the source node according to when the second probability and the reference value.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for Internet connection of a mobile communication terminal are disclosed. The Internet connection method includes extracting URL (uniform resource locator) information from web sites of the Internet and storing the URL information and connecting to a web site of Internet by using the extracted URL information, wherein extracting URL comprises inputting at least one numeric value representative of the URL information and inputting an designated key for Internet connection after inputting the associated numeric values. According to the present invention, a user may connect to a desired web site by inputting a web site name by using numeric keys and an Internet key. Accordingly, the quantity of key strokes required for connecting to a web site is reduced and user convenience is improved.
