  • Patent number: 7419508
Abstract: The invention relates to a light prosthesis as a purely optical substitute for a missing limb, including a shaped body (1) for replacing the missing limb as naturally as possible and a socket (2) for connecting the prosthesis to the stump (3) of the missing limb. In order to provide such a prosthesis for temporary or permanent use without having to fulfill any functionality, thus being suitable also for elderly patients, it is contemplated that the shaped body (1) is made of a light synthetic material, and that the periphery of the socket (2) for connecting the prosthesis to the stump (3) is variable in a manner known per se. The shaped body (1) may, in particular, also be made of an elastic, air-tight synthetic material (9) and include at least one valve (10) for inflating the shaped body (1).

  • Patent number: 7363497
Abstract: A method and system to acquire, digitize, store, and deliver live content, such as music, to an end user via a network. The system can capture live content directly into a portable audio format which can be encoded at various levels of resolution into a file. The encoded file can then be transported over a network to a network distributor who can then sell the encoded file to end users. The system can also insert a digital watermark into each user file which can contain the user information, the copyright information, and a unique serial number for future verification and copy protection. The digital watermark can survive file or format conversion.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system, method and apparatus for a redundant prime mover system to drive a machine having an engine coupled to the machine, and a motor/generator coupled to the machine and an electrical network connection. The controller operates the engine and the motor/generator in three or four operating modes. The first operating mode drives the machine with the engine. The second operating mode drives the machine with the motor/generator. The third operating mode drives the machine and the motor/generator with the engine such that the motor/generator generates electricity for delivery to the electrical network connection. Alternatively, the third operating mode drives the machine with both the engine and the motor/generator. This alternate operating mode can also be included as a fourth operating mode.
