Abstract: Tracking a target across a region is disclosed. A graphical user interface is provided that displays, in a first region, video from a field of view of a main video device, and, in a plurality of second regions, video from a field of view of each of a plurality of perimeter video devices (PVDs). The field of view of each PVD is proximate to the main video device's field of view. A selection of one of the plurality of PVDs is received. In response, video from a field of view of the selected PVD is displayed in the first region, and a plurality of candidate PVDs is identified. Each candidate PVD has a field of view proximate to the field of view of the selected PVD. The plurality of second regions is then repopulated with video from a field of view of each of the plurality of identified candidate PVDs.

  • Patent number: 8351035
Abstract: According to example configurations herein, a fluid sample flow including particulate matter passes through a conduit. One or more optical sensors monitor optical energy scattering off of the particulate matter in the fluid sample flow as it passes through the conduit. A magnitude of the optical energy sensed by the one or more optical sensors varies depending on particulate matter present in the fluid sample flow. An analyzer monitors the magnitude of the optical energy sensed by the one or more optical sensors and detects changes in the optical energy. A change in the optical energy can indicate a change in the particulate matter present in the fluid sample flow. In response to detecting the change in the optical energy, the analyzer initiates one or more functions such as recalibration, purging, execution of diagnostics, etc.

  • Patent number: 8344712
Abstract: A power supply system includes multiple power converter phases. A controller (e.g., a processor device) monitors energy delivery for each of multiple power converter phases that supply energy to a load. The controller analyzes the energy delivery associated with each of the multiple power converter phases to identify an imbalance of energy delivered by the multiple power converter phases to the load. Based on the analyzing and detection of an imbalance condition, the controller modifies a future order of activating the multiple power converter phases for powering the load. Accordingly, a single phase of a multiphase switching power converter may be prevented from becoming overloaded while delivering energy to power the load.

  • Patent number: 8330988
Abstract: A scheduling application prints a portable pocket sized hardcopy of information items such as scheduled items and task lists, and prints the information onto the pocket sized hardcopy in a consistent manner on each visible side of the hardcopy by rotating and inverting the printed material in anticipation of subsequent folding. The consistent manner encompasses inverting and arranging portions of the hardcopy along fold lines to enable folding that results in an upright orientation to the displayed text and figures. Conventional scheduling mechanisms are typically unwieldy to quickly initiate and enter a single item or entry. Electronic mediums need to be powered on, a keystroke, stylus, or pointing device sequence applied to access the corresponding scheduling or notepad application, and the information entered. Conventional paper mediums tend to be bulky and thus typically in a briefcase or purse, and often have binders or covers as well as page tabbing systems that need to be navigated.

  • Patent number: 8330444
Abstract: According to one configuration, a monitor circuit monitors a delivery of power supplied by one or more switch devices to a dynamic load. Based on an amount of power delivered to the load as measured by the monitor circuit, a control circuit produces a voltage control signal. A gate bias voltage generator circuit utilizes the voltage control signal to generate a switch activation voltage or bias voltage. A switch drive circuit uses the switch activation voltage as generated by the bias voltage generator to activate each of the one or more switch devices during a portion of a switching cycle when a respective switch device is in an ON state, and the respective switch device conducts current from a voltage source through the switch device to the load. The control circuit adjusts the voltage control signal to modify a level of the switch activation voltage depending on the dynamic load.

  • Patent number: 8330438
Abstract: A method and apparatus for equalizing phase currents in multiphase switching power converters is described in which pairs of stored digital values that directly or indirectly control the values of the currents in the conversion phases are altered in equal and opposite increments. In one embodiment the digital values being controlled are the relative on-times of the power switches in pairs of conversion phase. The method is stepwise and repetitive in the sense that, instead of calculating or inferring offset values that seek to bring all of the currents in the phases toward equality, pairs of phase currents are altered repetitively and iteratively, using equal and opposite steps in the values of their respective control variables, until the phases are all sufficiently close in value. The steps may be of fixed size or the step size may be selectively modified to optimize the convergence time of the algorithm.

  • Patent number: 8321938
Abstract: A network analysis architecture provides a suite of complementary logic operable at different temporal and spatial timescales. The distinct temporal and spatial scales define different tiers, each analyzing network events according to predetermined temporal and spatial scales of progressive magnitude. Particular event detection logic may be operable on an immediate temporal scale, while other logic identifies trends over a longer time period. Similarly, different spatial scales are appropriate to different algorithms, as in logic that examines only headers or length of packets, or inspects an entire payload or transferred file. Deployment of logic that is focused on different timing and scope of data allows timely action in the case of readily apparent deviations, and permits longer term analysis for identifying trends that emerge over time.

  • Patent number: 8279685
Abstract: A system includes a voltage generator to produce a pre-charge voltage signal for pre-charging one or more signals in a memory circuit. The one or more signals can be data bus lines used to access memory. The voltage generator can include an input indicating whether the memory circuit is set to a power-saving mode. The input adjusts a magnitude of the pre-charge voltage signal produced by the voltage generator. Adjusting the pre-charge voltage can result in power savings. When in the power-saving mode, the voltage generator circuit can adjust the pre-charge voltage to a value that reduces an amount of leakage current associated with a pre-charge voltage. Reducing the leakage with respect to the pre-charge voltage means that the saved power can be used for other useful purposes.
