  • Patent number: 7852053
Abstract: A power supply system delivers current to a load at a corresponding load voltage. The power supply system includes multiple power converter phases. Each power conversion phase comprises a phase switch and a phase inductor. In one embodiment, activation of a corresponding phase switch (e.g., a field effect transistor such as a MOSFET) electrically couples a voltage input (e.g., Vin) to an inductor electrically coupled to deliver current to a load. A controller (e.g., a processor device) associated with the power supply system is configured to monitor the load and/or a change in the current delivered to the load. Based on the monitoring, the controller modifies a relative timing of an initiation and duration of on-times of the phase switches in order to alter a rate-of-change of the current delivered by the power supply system.

  • Patent number: 7849176
Abstract: A message rendering process receives an indication of a selected display context (e.g., one of multiple types of information pages) for viewing information associated with a respective storage area network resource. The message rendering process identifies one or more message data structures stored in a repository. The one or more message data structures are used to potentially display a respective message associated with the selected display context. For example, in response to detecting a presence of message data associated with the message data structure, the message rendering process populates a respective format specified by the message data structure to produce the respective message associated with the selected display context. Consequently, a respective user can view information associated with a respective storage area network resource.

  • Patent number: 7849460
Abstract: A framework for defining and performing installation prerequisite checking using a generic template includes identifying a candidate agent and a corresponding prerequisite check from among a plurality of predetermined prerequisite checks. The prerequisite checks are indicative of installability of the candidate agent on a host computer. An install engine generates a prerequisite script bundle based on a set of configuration parameters corresponding to the candidate agent and the identified prerequisite check. The configuration parameters are defined in a template format adapted to define a plurality of configuration parameter sets, enabling a single generic prerequisite check format to define the configuration parameters. The install engine invokes the script bundle inclusive of the script on the host computer for computing the installation status, (i.e. prerequisite check results) of the candidate agent based on the results.

  • Patent number: 7849469
Abstract: A system uses generative aspect oriented programming to propagating context between components in a component server, the system produces code that, when executed, implicitly propagates authenticating context between a client component and an invoked component which the client component invokes in a component server. The system generates a function that allows the specification of a timeout between the client component and the invoked component that the client component invokes in the component server. The timeout function receives a user-defined timeout value to be applied for interface invocations between the client component and the invoked component. The system further generates a function declaration that, upon execution, discloses a target component identity between a client component and an invoked component that the client component invokes in the component server.

  • Patent number: 7836448
Abstract: In a storage area network (SAN), different tasks may expect different types of commands for commencing execution, such as interactive or offline, and may have different formats for reporting status and completion, such as log files or message based. A framework for defining the business logic enveloped in a particular task, and providing a common manner of deploying, or enabling invocation, of the task provides consistent operator control for scheduling, monitoring, ensuring completion, and tracking errors and other events. Business logic modules are identified as commands corresponding to a task. Transactions including a set of the commands define an ordered sequence for completing the task. The operator requests a particular set of tasks, using a selection tree, and the task manager builds a corresponding execution tree to identify and map the transactions and commands of the task to the execution tree to optimize execution and mitigate redundancies.

  • Patent number: 7835339
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product for performing dynamic channel assignment in wireless ad hoc networks (wireless mesh and infrastructure BSSs) is presented. A fixed channel assignment order is determined for each link of the network, the fixed channel assignment order enabling simultaneous transmission without co-channel interference. A preference order is loaded for a node, the preference order derived from the fixed channel assignment order. A channel is selected in accordance with the preference order when a node is ready for transmission. A determination is made whether the selected channel is available, and when the selected channel is available then the node transmits on the channel and when the selected channel is not available then a next channel in the preference order is selected for the node and the determination regarding whether the selected channel is available is repeated.

  • Patent number: 7836272
Abstract: A data storage system includes methods and apparatus that provide volumes for access by host computing devices. The volumes can have a storage size that is independently configurable from an actual amount of data storage that may or may not be associated with the volume. The volumes also have a persistent identifier. The volumes can have any amount of associated storage space allocated to the volume, including none, within the data storage system. Since the storage size and associated storage space are each independently configurable from each other, host that interface with the data storage system can perceive the volumes as being larger than they really are. A dynamic volume configuration technique is provided which allows storage space within storage devices in the data storage system to be dynamically associated and disassociated (i.e., added and removed) from the volumes on an as-needed basis, without requiring disruption of host activities with respect to the volumes.
