  • Patent number: 5871788
Abstract: An improved punch and die assembly for use with a closure liner insertion device is disclosed. As contrasted with prior art construction, the assembly is supported upon a pair of vertically oriented posts located adjacent the periphery of a rotating dial, the vertical axis of each post lying in a vertical plane passing through the vertical axis of the punch and corresponding die. This construction permits installation of a standard punch and die unit in conjunction with closure liner insertion machines of varying dimensions, without substantial alteration.

  • Patent number: 5866838
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a low cost and highly accurate precision guided system suitable for use in conventional aircraft launched bombs. The system includes a kit mounted upon the nose of the conventional bomb which replaces the conventional fuse disposed in a fuse well, the kit including guidance electronics controlling a self-contained jet reaction device and GPS P-code receiver electronics. The bombs are readied for discharge by radio frequency signals broadcast from the aircraft into the bomb bay which transfer initial GPS data and commence operation of a gas generator which powers the jet reaction device.

  • Patent number: 5848727
Abstract: A manually operated dispensing device for ejecting perfume sampling strips of varying length and thickness. Interchangeable septums are provided to form properly sized stacking channels. A resilient lip prevents more than one sample strip from being ejected during a single activation. A tapered exit opening accommodates the leading edge of strips of varying thickness and possible misalignment.

  • Patent number: 5829612
Abstract: A threaded type tamper-indicating closure in which the tamper-indicating ring is separated from the cap element of the closure as the closure is opened, in which the tabs which contact an undersurface of a bead on the outer surface of an engaged container finish are prevented from flexing radially inwardly beyond a limited degree so as to assure that the tabs will function immediately as the closure commences unthreading. In the disclosed embodiment, this is accomplished by positioning the pivot axis of the tabs in substantially a common vertical plane therewith, so that the tabs pivot only slightly radially outwardly as they come into contact with the bead. The tamper-indicating ring includes an upper wall member of relatively reduced thickness to enable both bending and flexing radially outwardly during installation to enable the relatively rigid tabs to clear a radially outwardly extending bead on the container neck or finish.

  • Patent number: 5813075
Abstract: A hand rotating type toothbrush having provision for rotation in first and second rotational directions using separate manually actuated slides. The shaft supporting the head is formed integrally with an axially aligned torsion bar which returns the head to neutral position. A first slide member provides for rotation in a first direction. A second slide member provides for rotation in a second direction, each slide member providing 180 degrees of rotation. Preferably, the entire device is formed from synthetic resinous materials for low cost of production and convenience in maintaining sanitary conditions. The shaft is selectively fixed at an inner end thereof to the handle by catch or detent means, thus maintaining the device in selectively assembled condition.

  • Patent number: 5808547
Abstract: An intrusion detection system used to surveil a predetermined space includes a monitor disposed within the space and a remote controller. The monitor comprises an intrusion detector for sensing an intruder in the space and a memory circuit having an armed and a disarmed state recording any sensed intrusion. The remote controller includes an RF transmitter activated by a button switch the pulsed closure of which either arms or tests or disarms the monitor. When arming the monitor, a first audible or visual output is produced by the monitor in response to the RF pulse which switches it from the disarmed to the armed state. In the armed state, the monitor produces a second audible or visual output in response to the RF pulse which is used to test the state of the monitor. The second response is easily distinguished from the first response by a user. If an intrusion occurs, the monitor produces an alarm signal.

  • Patent number: 5803281
Abstract: The disclosure relates to synthetic resinous container closures having frustoconical sealing surfaces which cooperate with corresponding sealing surfaces on a container finish to effect a gas-type seal. In one embodiment, the closure is particularly suited for use in sealing containers having pressurized contents such as carbonated drinks and the like. In a second embodiment, the closure is of threaded type enabling the reclosing and sealing of the engaged container after an initial opening. This embodiment including a separable tamper-indicating ring. In a third embodiment, the closure is adapted to be used in conjunction with an aerosol dispenser to exclude ambient moisture from the area of the dispensing nozzle prior to first use, and to form a second seal after the closure has been removed for first usage.

  • Patent number: 5765739
Abstract: A wall mounted dental floss dispenser is disclosed. The dispenser includes a mounting bracket supporting a housing. Within the housing is a vertically oriented plate having a recess for supporting a known replaceable pocket floss dispenser. Floss is guided downwardly to be engaged by a pair of nip rollers, one of which is manually rotated to advance the floss to an outlet opening in said housing adjacent a cutting blade. Use of the device enables the obtaining of a desired length of floss using only a single hand of the user.
