Patent number: 4804811Abstract: A multi-operator grid system for stud welding is disclosed which works in conjunction with a microprocessor controlled single stud welding power supply. The multi-operator grid system utilizes a single multiplexer interconnected with a plurality of weld stations each of which includes an isolator, hand held terminal and stud welding gun. Each hand held terminal working through the multiplexer can program the microprocessor stud welding supply for parameters of pilot arc and welding current energy and cycles. The microprocessor controlled stud welding supply, through the multiplexer, provides read outs to printers and to the hand held terminals of the resultant stud welding parameters such as total welding energy, weld current and the like. The multiplexer, working in conjuction with the microprocessor controlled stud welding supply and the isolators, controls the pilot arc and weld current to the stud welding guns as well as the plunge thereof.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 1987Date of Patent: February 14, 1989Assignee: Erico Fastening Systems, Inc.Inventors: Robert J. Patent number: 4797913Abstract: A direct telephone dialing ordering system is disclosed wherein a calling customer can order products and/or services from a given vendor without voice interchange. The system operates in a Local Access and Transport Area (LATA) switching network which has Feature Group D services utilizing the 15 digit domestic dialing plan. The system is positioned within the LATA and is assigned a Feature Group D interexchange carrier number. An originating call utilizing the 15 digit domestic dialing plan of the Feature Group D service is directed to the system within the LATA to a point of termination as an interexchange carrier. The system is then free to utilize the remaining 10 digits of the originating call for determination of variables such as vendor, product, grade and the like designations. The Feature Group D Automatic Number Identification (ANI) for the calling customer is likewise passed on to the system for customer identification, credit verification and the like.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 1987Date of Patent: January 10, 1989Assignee: Science Dynamics CorporationInventors: Murray Kaplan, Robert W. Patent number: 4778106Abstract: Welding methods and articles are disclosed for securing railroad rails to supporting surfaces including a retaining stud, an arc shield for use in welding the retaining stud, a rail clip for securing the rail and tools for installing and removing the clip. The retaining stud is a T-shaped stud with a rectangular stem and head, the under surface of which forms an arcuate reaction surface. The stud is welded by the arc stud welding technique in which the method of controlled time and current controls the ultimate weld height and angulation of the stud. The welding is in conjunction with an arc shield, the face of which is complementary to the surface being welded and which includes a weld fillet cavity configured to provide constant weld fillet volume. The rail clip is generally U-shaped with a straight backed heel. In a preferred embodiment, the upper and lower limbs overlie one another and are bifurcated and straddle and cooperate with the stem of the stud.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 1985Date of Patent: October 18, 1988Assignee: Omark Industries, Inc.Inventors: Leslie J. Patent number: 4771515Abstract: A holder for supporting and securing such items as eyeglasses within a shirt or coat pocket is disclosed. The holder utilizes a hollow holder housing having opposed front and rear walls and relatively narrow side walls. A pivot arm is pivotally secured within the housing and has included therein a movable grip projecting through the front wall which engages a stationary grip secured to the external surface of the front wall. A spring member interconnected between the housing and the pivot arm urges the movable grip into closed position with the stationary grip which grips, in closed position, secure, for example, the temple piece of eyeglasses. A spring clip positioned on the rear wall of the holder housing secures the housing and such items as eyeglasses secured therein within the shirt or coat pocket of the user.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 1986Date of Patent: September 20, 1988Inventor: Elisha Guarro

Patent number: 4763458Abstract: An insulating system for walls of furnaces, kilns and the like including apparatus and methods for retaining the system in place. The system includes a crisscross pattern of insulation blankets positioned against the wall, a vapor barrier and high temperature modular insulation blocks positioned against the vapor barrier. The apparatus and methods for retaining the system in place utilize studs welded to the wall upon which the insulation blanket and vapor barrier are impaled and between which are positioned the modular blocks. A block retaining pin with a notched portion midway thereof cooperates with an aperture in the end of the stud permitting the pin to pass through the aperture of the stud piercing the wall of block to retain the block while the pin is rotated to provide an interlock of the notched portion of the pin with the aperture of the stud.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 1984Date of Patent: August 16, 1988Assignee: KSM Fastening Systems, Inc.Inventors: Harold C. Patent number: 4744098Abstract: A roulette calculator for recording and visually displaying the occurrence and number of winning numerals during the progress of play of a roulette game is disclosed. The calculator includes a keyboard having a key and visual display for each number of a roulette wheel. A power source and electronic circuit means are employed between the keys and visual display means to advance the count in the visual display means upon key stroke of a given key to thus visually display winning numerals and the number of times that numeral was a winning numeral. The layout of the keyboard and color of the keys correspond to the roulette table colors and layout. Additional keys and associated visual displays may be provided to record conditions such as the number of winnings of red vs. black or odd vs. even. The keys and visual displays are positioned within recesses to prevent miskeying.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 1986Date of Patent: May 10, 1988Inventor: Walter A. Grabowski
