  • Patent number: 4696186
Abstract: A storage tank system especially useful for storing liquid gasoline in one aspect comprises a rigid inner tank encased by a flexible outer jacket with a leak detecting means associated with the closed space between the inner tank and jacket. In another aspect, an outer rigid tank contains a bladder within it together with leak detecting means between the tank and bladder. The system results in a storage facility which is less likely to lose its stored liquid to the environment due to a slow leak or a sudden large leak such as is possible with an earthquake.

  • Patent number: 4653312
Abstract: A method of making a jacketed storage tank comprises applying a separating agent over the storage tank, applying a layer of fibrous reinforcing material on the separating agent, and thereafter applying a resinous material. The resultant jacket, covering at least about 40% of the surface area of the storage tank, is structurally independent therefrom. True secondary containment can be provided by the jacket. A fail safe containment storage tank system is provided by the use of a leak detector to monitor the closed space between the storage tank and jacket for tank or jacket leakage.

  • Patent number: 4588194
Abstract: A remote controlled target device comprises a housing with an open front face, side panels and back and bottom panels angled to deflect misses projectiles back into the rear portion of the housing. A pivot bar extending across the housing holds a plurality of targets which are attached so as to permit them to revolve to knock-down positions when hit. A return bar is controlled by a cord which extends to a remote location to effect resetting the targets.

  • Patent number: 4515319
Abstract: An autogenous mill for breaking up rocks comprises lifter bars and carriers. The lifter bars have angles of inclination so as to achieve the maximum efficiency of the mill with respect to lifting the rocks and causing them to fall. The angles of inclination of the carriers are also chosen so as to achieve the maximum efficiency of the carriers for lifting the crashed fines and causing them to exit the mill. The angles of inclination of the carriers is smaller than that of the lifter bars.

  • Patent number: 4449613
Abstract: A remotely controlled oil drain valve assembly is provided. The assembly comprises a valve body which is threadably connected to the crankcase of an internal combustion engine. A valve core is slideably mounted within the valve body. Ports in the valve body and valve core, when in alignment, permit the flow of oil from the crankcase through a passageway in the valve core. The ports are brought in alignment by means mounted in the valve body which receive an electric signal from a remote source to cause rotation of the valve core to the proper position.

  • Patent number: 4440897
Abstract: A substantially external surfactant-free vinyl polymer emulsion product is disclosed. The process includes a first stage of dispersing in water an amine or inorganic base neutralized saturated polymer. The saturated polymer is formed from a monomeric mixture of carboxylic acid or anhydride containing ethylenic unsaturation with optionally additional copolymerizable ethylenically unsaturated monomers. In a second stage, a monomeric mixture of vinyl monomers is added to the water dispersion and the resultant mixture polymerized so as to form the substantially external surfactant-free vinyl polymer emulsion product.
