  • Patent number: 8336809
Abstract: An aircraft that is enabled to turn in a desired direction, and a method for controlling the flight direction of an aircraft, by employing differential drag on the respective wings. A control means that receives a control signal indicating a left turn increases the incidence angle on the left wing and reduces it on the right wing. For a right turn the opposite action is performed. The aircraft comprises airfoils that have increased drag as the incidence angle increases but have a generally constant lift.

  • Patent number: 8291981
Abstract: The present invention regards a device designed for injection of fluids in a well bore, typically an offshore well bore for petroleum production and gas injection/gas lift system for fluid injection. The device comprises a outer hollow housing with an internal body moveable within the outer housing which in a first closed position is closed with a metal to metal seal system between the outer housing and the internal body, which internal body is operated by pressure differential across the internal body. The internal movable body is connected to the outer hollow housing by means of a retainer key. The retainer key comprises a shear arrangement and is arranged to keep the valve in a fixed closed position, where fluid pressure is to overcome the pretension of the retainer key in order to open the device. When the device is shear opened, it can be kept in this open position as the retainer key is locked to the outer hollow housing.

  • Patent number: 8269669
Abstract: The invention involves one or more radio markers (1) being located on or buried in the seabed with a suitable tool at a location where a geographical point requires to be retrieved. Radio markers may be deployed, for example, by means of a subsea vehicle (2). The subsea vehicle (2) is equipped with a positioning system and gyro (6) when the radio markers (1) are deployed, thereby enabling the approximate position of each individual radio marker (1) to be recorded with global map position. • Patent number: 8239016
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for monitoring the autonomous nervous system of a sedated patient. A skin conductance signal is measured at an area of the patient's skin during a measurement interval. A first measure and a second measure, both reflecting the state of the autonomous nervous system of the patient, is calculated by means of certain integral functions. The largest one of the first and second measures is then selected as the output signal (Y) that reflects the state of the autonomous nervous system of the sedated patient.
