  • Patent number: 7614926
Abstract: A propulsion system 2 for a waterborne vessel 4 having a hull structure 6, typically for a full or semi planing boat. The propulsion system 2 has a pod housing 8 having a front end 10 and a rear end 12, a propeller 14 and a propeller shaft 16. The propeller 14 is disposed externally at the front end 10 of the pod 8 and is rotatable about a longitudinal axis 18of the propeller shaft 16, the propeller shaft 16 being drivingly connected to a drive assembly. The drive assembly has a transmission unit 20 and a power unit 22 in the form of a diesel engine. In FIG. 1 the diesel engine is shown disconnected from the transmission unit 20. The power unit 22 is disposed within the structure of the hull 6 and, in this particular embodiment; the transmission unit 20 is disposed substantially outside the structure of the hull 6. The hull 6 is formed with a port 24 through which an interface unit 26 extends.

  • Patent number: 7530318
Abstract: This application concerns a method and system using a hydrodynamical effect for producing a potential over a body. The force obtained this way is useful for the propulsion and maneuvering of ships, submarines, aeroplanes, and airships. A body immersed in a fluid at rest is subject to equal pressures on all sides. A stream close to one side of the body will reduce the local pressure and produce a potential over the body. This is currently done by moving the body in the fluid, cf. aeroplane wings. The potential may be produced by setting up a stream or streams over one side of the body. Bodies attached to aeroplanes by hinges are useful for their lift, propulsion and maneuvering, and will make them independent of velocity for lift and maneuvering. The same will be the case for submarines. Airships and seagoing vessels may be designed so as to have their propulsive bodies integrated in their form.

  • Patent number: 7494320
Abstract: A rotor (10) that enables an aircraft to become passively stable in hover. The inner part of the rotor blades (11) have a pitch angle fixed relative to a reference plane perpendicular to the rotor shaft (18) axis, and the tip of the rotor blades being connected to a ring (12) encircling the rotor. Each blade is connected to the rotor shaft by a separate hinge having a hinge axis perpendicular to both the rotor shaft axis and to the blade. Because the rotor blades can also easily twist the rotor can tilt freely in any direction. The rotor blades may be disconnected from the ring and folded up for easy transport.

  • Patent number: 7427313
Abstract: The device according to the invention includes a drip chamber, which is adapted for connecting to the ordinary water mains, a metal plate and a nozzle that is connected to the drip chamber and disposed above the metal plate and a collecting vessel. The object of the drip chamber is to convert the continuous flow of water from the water mains into discrete drops, thus forming a water reservoir in the bottom of the drip chamber, which is electrically insulated from the water supply while the reservoir still receives a constant new supply of water. Water from the reservoir is passed on to the nozzle and sprayed over the steel plate. An impressed voltage on the nozzle and thereby the water attracts the impurities in the air and these will bind to the water and follow it when the water runs down into a collecting vessel, which is subsequently emptied into the house's drainage system.
