Abstract: The invention relates to a system for secure multi-factor authentication using dynamic data, the system including a card reader, and a computer having a display, wherein the card reader is configured to read card information from a data card, provide a scramble code to the computer, receive user input data indicative of user input responsive to a graphical numeric display based on the scramble code, generate PIN data based on the user input data, generate a PIN block including the PIN data and the card information, and transmit the PIN block for authentication.

Abstract: A monolithic body (31) has a compound optical surface that defines a centrally located lens element (31B) that is transmissive to light having wavelengths of interest, such as infrared radiation (IR), and a reflector (31B) disposed about the lens element that is reflective to the light. The monolithic body is comprised of a material selected for fabricating a refractive lens element. The compound optical surface has a centrally located portion defining the lens element surrounded by a generally curved surface region having a reflective coating that defines the reflector. The centrally located portion may be coated with an anti-reflection coating. The compound optical surface is preferably formed in one operation, such as one that uses a diamond point turning operation.

Abstract: The device comprises a memory (3) for storing several user share parameters and several amounts capable of advancing. A decision means (6) allocates a chosen service slice of the resource to a user selected as possessing the least advanced amount. It subsequently advances his amount according to a chosen increment. A memory link means (5) defines user queues of “FIFO” type, such that the user having the least advanced amount in a queue appears at the head of this queue. According to the invention, the memory (3) stores a limited number of values of increments. The memory link means (5) associates one of these values of increments with each user and allocates an increment value to each queue.
Abstract: A method and system for the creation of interactive programming incorporating viewer interactions. An interactive program includes moderator content generated by the moderator and edited participant commentary, such as interactive messages, and is served by a moderator server. Moderators create and manage interactive programs using a Web site. Viewers register to be participants in interactive programs using the Web site as well. The interactive programs can be distributed as electronic documents written in a markup language such as HTML or XML over a communications network such as the Internet. The interactive programs can also be converted to conventional interactive television content for distribution over an interactive television network. The interactive programs can also be distributed over a virtual private network for use as a collaboration tool by an enterprise such as a business concern.
Abstract: Printed circuit boards have circuit layers with one or more copper filled through-holes and methods of manufacturing the same. An aspect of an embodiment of the present invention enhances thermal characteristics of filled through-holes of printed circuit boards to provide extra reliability to the printed circuit boards. In one embodiment, a printed circuit broad has a plurality of through-holes to connect copper patterns on different layers of the printed circuits broad. Here, at least one of the through-holes is copper plated closed at both ends with at least 70% volume of the through-hole plated with copper to, e.g., enhance thermal characteristics of the through-hole, thereby providing extra reliability to the printed circuit board. In one embodiment, the printed circuit board includes a surface conductor (or cap) that is directly plated over the copper filled barrel plated through-hole.
Abstract: An underground utility enclosure assembly with a sealed fiber distribution enclosure includes a grade level box and a removable cover that mounts to the box. The cover includes a removable plug that provides access to the interior of the box. A removed plug area in the cover allows access to utility cables contained in the box and access to the interior of the sealed fiber distribution enclosure mounted to the open plug area. The bottom of the enclosure includes a rigid lower base frame assembly that removably attaches to the open plug area, and an above-ground fiber distribution base structure affixed to a cable opening passing through the base frame assembly. The sealed fiber distribution enclosure can be removed as a unit from the cover on the grade level box, with active cables undisturbed, and moved to a remote site for making above-ground fiber optic cable splices. The sealed fiber distribution enclosure then can be re-installed in the cover plate, with the active cables undisturbed.
Abstract: A fuel cell is provided. The fuel cell includes a medium member. Unit areas are formed at both sides of the medium member. The unit areas include outlets and inlets which allow a fuel to flow. First path members which have first flowpaths for circulating the fuel are disposed at the unit areas. Membrane-electrode assemblies are connected to the respective first path members. Second path members which have second flowpaths for circulating air are connected to the respective membrane-electrode assemblies.

Abstract: An all-reflecting, non-relayed optical system having an aperture stop and an optical axis and configured to provide images of objects. The system includes a positive power primary mirror configured to receive radiation from the objects, a negative power secondary mirror configured to receive the radiation reflected from the primary mirror and a positive power tertiary mirror configured to receive the radiation reflected from the secondary mirror. The system further includes a focal plane configured to receive the radiation reflected from the tertiary mirror and to form an image of the objects. The aperture stop of the optical system is located between the tertiary mirror and the image plane. Accordingly, the image plane may be cold shielded to prevent or reduce radiation reflected from the optical elements that interferes with the desired image.
Abstract: Single-crystal silicon carbide nanowires and a method for producing the nanowires are provided. The single-crystal silicon carbide nanowires have a very high aspect ratio and can be used for the fabrication of nanoelectronic devices, including electron gun emitters and MEMS probe tips, for use in a variety of displays and analyzers. Further provided is a filter comprising the nanowires. The filter is applied to systems for filtering vehicle engine exhaust gases to achieve improved filtering performance and increased lifetime.
